Well, Vicky said that she might've been kicked out and I can actually see this happening. Leafpool gave birth not too long after the events of Sunset, the book in which Mousefur called a Clan meeting because she and some of the other Clans cats weren't allowed too thrilled at the fact that ThunderClan was taking in outsiders. It took Firestar snapping at the Clan to get them to stop complaining.
At the very least I doubt they would've tolerated Leafpool as much they did in canon had the truth been revealed sooner and it might've resulted in the Clan to become divided and possibly demand new leadership. Firestar might've not had much of a choice if Leafpool did reveal the truth sooner.
At least in canon, it was already far too late, the original Three had already received their names, and Leafpool willingly stepped down as the Clan's medicine cat.
If not exile though, I feel like it would've been pretty much the same, with Leafpool stepping down as medicine cat at least as soon as she finished training an apprentice.

I like to think she probably would have been demoted, and Holly, Jay, and Lion would be scorned for a while. Then they would be more accepted.

the fact that she got her position back from her own punishment just leads me to not 100% see her being exiled in an alternate scenario despite what vicky said. at the very most leafpool would be banished for like a day so she can think about what she did1!.!!! but i would have most certainly like to see this play out (goes straight to crowfeather, who says "asdfgh haha nope" runs around in dramatic hopelessness till she meets a fox... but fox got nothing on plot armor...  ), i just doubt it would have happened |

Honestly I don't believe she would of gotten kicked out. Everyone in the clan knew she had left with Crowfeather.

I cannot see Firestar kicking out Leafpool and her kits, for one they are his blood, and for two they probably wouldn't have easy time surviving. She would probably be forced to give them up and Ferncloud and Daisy would probably nurse them. She would probably stay as a medicine cat.
So simply said there would've been much less drama.
