This thread kind of stems from the Bramblestar's Storm topic from a while ago. Some agreed that in time, Bramblestar's Storm will probably be skipped over and forgotten by newer readers, instead choosing to go straight from The Last Hope to The Sun Trail/The Apprentice's Quest. This made me curious on what other books could be forgotten in the series with increasing numbers. Here's what I think:
- Bramblestar's Storm: Unnecessary filler where not much happens except for Stormcloud joining in the end and background characters dying. This one can be easily skipped over and, IMO, only exists to satisfy the thirst of those who wanted to see the modern Clans during DOTC. Plus, the book was pretty bad.
- SkyClan's Destiny: With Firestar's Quest being a much more interesting and important book in my opinion, along with the new Hawkwing's Journey, I think some people are going to forget this exists. In fact, it took me forever to actually get to reading it. The only other books I've yet to read are The Rise of Scourge and Mothflight's Vision.
- All of the field guides except for The Ultimate Guide: Information is obsolete. They commonly turn up in secondhand stores already.
- Mothflight's Vision: I haven't read it yet, but with the amount of people that skipped DOTC as is, there's probably even fewer people who have read it.
What do you guys think? I excluded novellas because they're pretty much bonuses anyway.
