...after not reading/watching it for a year or two, and for the longest time I was extremely bothered with what I thought was the characters' inability to age. I was baffled by the fact that Naruto was mentored by Kakashi, who was mentored by Minato, who was mentored by Jiraiya, who was mentored by Hiruzen... and only Hiruzen seemed to have aged after all those other mentorings. I'd always thought an "apprentice" would know their mentor and maybe even their mentor's mentor... but that's it, cause either age or death wouldn't enable them to meet anyone else.
So I guess my mind was sorta blown when Boruto comes along and is able to meet his dad's 3x mentor's teammate (Tsunade)... and she barely shows any aging at all.
... until I realize just how young these mentors are. Kakashi was only like, 20 when he first started mentoring Naruto, Minato was about the same age when he mentored Kakashi, we don't know Jiraiya's age but based on a picture... he looks pretty young too and the only exception was Hiruzen, who looked more in his 30s when he mentored Jiraiya.
But yeah, when I considered that, it now makes a lot of sense why so many mentors-of the mentors-of the mentors can be alive and not show much age. The average shinobi becomes a genin at around 10 or so- and usually can become a mentor themselves at around 18-20 minimum- meaning that technically- if they lived to about 80 years old and each shinobi they trained became a sensei at 20- they could possibly live to see 8 "generations" of students coming from their original leadership. Pretty cool.
But yeah, it's been fun getting back into Naruto. I've forgotten how good it is.
Plus I've been going back and reading the mangas, cause I've really only been watchng the episodes... and man the mangas are so much better. Now I love the episodes too don't get me wrong... but movies are rarely as good as the books, aren't they?
Reading the mangas are also nice cause there's some scenes in there that were cut from the episodes, and they give a lot of details that I wouldn't have known had I just watched the episodes only.

I watched Naruto when the English dub first came out (on CN, I think), alongside my brother/mother. However, we stopped paying for cable in the 4th grade, and I haven't seen it since. I've never been an anime fan (only A:TLA, if that counts), but I'm getting the urge to re-watch it.

Yeah I'm not into anime much at all- in fact the only other "anime" thing I've watched is Pokemon- and that's sometimes not even considered anime. I personally recommend reading the mangas and then watching the episodes in English sub- cause I personally think the Japanese voice actors do a much greater job in general, but also they express the emotions more correctly. Plus it just feels more right culturally- and even though Pokemon got away with it... it's just not as cool listening to english chants and commands while fighting. It's kinda hard to explain... a lot of the Japanese phrases just don't come out right- or don't have the same significance when they are translated into verbal english. But I don't know- I'm probably just biased because the Japanese language is so cool xD and probably because all some of the english voice actors cringe me to death.

After i read the first chapter of that new Boruto manga, i had to stop The thought of Naruto being dead killed me inside tbh but yeah, Naruto seems just more.. interesting after you get older and stuff. Although i gotta say i did dislike some of the endgame pairings : P

Yeah I was kinda bothered with some of them at first but... eh now I've kinda forgotten about them since they barely talk about most of the pairings anyways except for like, the main 2.

Can we all agree that we all had/have crushes on Gaara? ...Just me? Okay ... Not really ^^" but to be honest I never really had a crush on any of the characters. The closest was Kakashi, but he'd keep doing/saying kinda dumb stuff xD and he'd not look so cool anymore. Don't get me wrong he's still one of my favorite characters in the series... but he's nothing crazy. Gaara's cool though- in my top 10.
