Ivorypaw let out a loud screech of fear and shrank back, her fur brushing out as she quickly backed up.

Eyeing its beady eye, her claws was ready to slash at anything tryng to harm her clan she loved. Heatherstripe was ready to do the badger defense HoneyStar taught her when she mentored her. She waited to see if it striked any of her clanmates. |

The badger lurched forward, throwing its body towards the group of cats. It didn't seem to be aiming at any one of them in general. A long and throaty growl was still coming from its throat.
Barrowfall leapt to the side, swiping at the badger with her claws. She barely clipped its fur, sliding back into a tree trunk.
Batflight began to scramble backwards, shrieking in terror. Her paws became tangled in the undergrowth and she fell face flat, struggling to get back on her paws.

Stormgaze was blocking her, she wanted to fight and protect her clanmates. "Move out of the way Stormgaze!", she growled at her mate. She throw herself at the badger raking its sides. Blood was in her claws, the badger's blood was falling onto the ground leaving a dark stain on the dirt.

Silverpaw would have helped Batflight up if she weren't so far. Only, she was still frozen in fear. She had never been in a battle with a cat, never mind a badger.

Ivorypaw looked on in horror and froze, debating if she too, should fight, or flee. It's so huge...she thought. She had been always confident about the idea of her first fight, but now...she wasn't so sure it was as easy as it seemed.

Side by side Stormgaze, she felt more comfortable, but the fact that Barrowfall, Stormgaze, and her were the only ones fighting. While Ivorypaw, Batflight , and Silverpaw stood in horror. Heatherstripe also bit the same leg as Stormgaze bit.

The badger let out a roar of pain, its eyes focusing in on the cat that had wounded it. It took a heavy swipe at Heatherstripe with its paw.
Barrowfall scrambled back forward, putting herself a little in front of Ivorypaw. "Hey!" she called to the apprentice. "Are you okay?"
Batflight returned to her paws, shrinking back as she watched the fight unfolding before her. She opened her mouth to speak but not a word came out, only a quiet whine.

Silverpaw had enough of this creature. As bravely as she could, she was sprinting towards the beast. Silverpaw raked her claws across the badgers other leg, trying to help her deputy.

Heatherstripe fell to the ground, her cheek scraped with blood overflowing slowly and onto to the ground. She watched as Barrowfall and Stormgaze continuing fighting the large badger. Trying to get up, her legs were weak, Heatherstripe couldn't get up. "Ivorypaw help! Tyr to get me up, I can't get up!", she called to the paralyzed apprentice.

Ivorypaw shook her head to get her mind cleared. "I'm...I'm fine!" She replied, dipping her head to Barrowfall. "I'm ready to fight!" She snarled, dropping into a crouch and creeping forward, behind the badger. She paused as she heard Heatherstripe's cry. She bounded over to her with a concerned expression. "Are you alright?" She tried to pull her up from the side and heaved with effort until the she-cat would regain her footing.

"I am fine, leave me here. Now replace me with you and fight!", Heatherstripe tried encouraging the apprentice who was shocked at the badger. Her dark blue eyes stared at the battle, Heatherstripe couldn't keep her eyes open, slowly she closed her eyes fainting until the battle ended. |

Barrowflight leapt onto the badger's rump, sinking her claws into its pelt. She clung on for dear life as the animal thrashed about.
Batflight looked over toward Heatherstripe, her eyes blinking quickly. Trying to muster up all her courage she bounded over towards the wounded cat, her eyes plastered closed as she passed the badger.
(bro I googled what noises badgers make and their screams are.. really freaky)

After a moments hesitation, Ivorypaw lept up onto the badger's back and snagged her claws into its shaggy fur. She struggled to grasp a better grip and she held on for her life.

The badger huffed loudly, turning towards Stormgaze, its previous quarry no longer moving. It charged towards the warrior, growling.
Barrowfall slid off the badger, her claws dragging through its haunches, drawing blood that splattered across her pelt as she fell to the ground.
Batflight screeched as she noticed the badger charge, impulsively grabbing Heatherstripe by the scruff and pulling her back toward the brush.

Heatherstripe breathed slowly, but she knew she will be able to live. Her eyes couldn't opened, she was stuck fainted hearing Silverpaw's crying voice. "Silverpaw!", she cried in her mind, but yet sehe couldn't speak.
