Am I the only one who believes these two might be the same cat? I always had, since I first read about Mistfeather. Both of them are gray toms. And Mistfeather was stated to be pretty old. Plus Creekfeather isn't in the allegiances, but Mistfeather is. This would make his death a lot sadder...for me at least.

Possibly, but they also might just be related. Besides, how do you get Creek mixed up with Mist? Then again, the Erins have gotten character names wrong or mixed up before, but at least we knew who they were talking about, whereas they repeatedly use the name Mistfeather in TAQ and HJ.
They also have slightly different descriptions. Creekfeather is a gray tabby tom and Mistfeather just seems to be a solid gray cat so far, unless the stripes are just faint, the description is a mistake, or he just hasn't been mentioned to be a tabby yet. But even then, unless they say that Mistfeather is Plumwillow, Nettlesplash, and Rabbiitleap's littermate sometime in HJ, I'm having a bit of trouble believing that they're really the same cat, but again, it's possible.

The only kits that were present when Firestar was rebuilding SkyClan were Rockshade, Bouncefire, Tinycloud, Mintfur, and Sagenose. |

I was just rereading the sneak peak and Plumwillow, Nettlesplash, and Rabbitleap were specifically stated to be Waspwhisker's kits. Mistfeather wasn't there at all. I suppose Mistfeather and Creekfeather could indeed be different cats. But if that's the case, then where did Mistfeather come from? He's already in the Clan at the start of the SE. |

I'm thinking Creekfeather and some cat, maybe Honeytail (are they related? I can't remember), were mates and they had Mistfeather. But then Creekfeather ended up dying somehow, and when Mistfeather became a warrior he requested his name in honor of his father.

Maybe he was an outsider who wanted to join the Clan, like Egg? Or maybe he's from an older litter belonging to Sharpclaw and Cherrytail since SATS is set before PoT and HJ is set after OotS? Still, you would think that either of these things might've been mentioned in the SE by now if that were the case, especially the latter. Or he's related to some other cat in the Clan. Perhaps he's Honeytail's kit with Creekfeather, and Mistfeather was named after his father? |
