person: "You're 16?? I'm glad I didn't guess lololol." *decides to tell me their guess anyway* "I thought you were 14 or something, hahaha." me: "um, thanks?"
person: "you're the older one?!?! I thought your sister was bc she's taller, lol." me: "...yeah."
person: "you look so young! I can't believe you're 4 years older than your sister!" me: "yep."
person: "does it offend you that people think you're younger than 16?" me: "not really." (except when everYONE POINTS IT OUT)
this all happened earlier bc I had to go to this thing with my mom and there were all these old people and I just I'm not even mad about it but why do people feel the need to point this out?? and it only ever happens with older people so I don't understand.

You will feel better about this in the long run, as looking young is beneficial later in life. However, it is extremely frustrating.
I am 21 years old and everyone's first assumption is that I'm between the ages of 16 and 18. No one takes me seriously in the least, and it's extremely frustrating. My sister is 16 years old, taller than me, and strangers always assume that we're either twins (even though we do not look alike at all), or that we're simply friends from her high school. Any time I step into a bar or perhaps order an alcoholic beverage at dinner not only do I get carded--which is fine by me, I understand that they card almost any young person--but they also give me the strangest of looks. Once a bouncer stood there for a solid minute looking at me and my ID and trying to decide if I was actually 21 or not. It is very frustrating.
I get it from all ages, too. I am a dance teacher and my dancers are always surprised by the fact that I'm 21 and not a high schooler. When asked, my girls guessed 16 or 18. It's the same with people my own age when they first meet me, as well as people older. It is very exhausting.

*Is 15, looks 11*
*Walks into a restaurant*
Server: "Do you want a kids menu?"
I also get into movies, the zoo, and museums and other stuff for the much cheaper, children's price.
I walked into my 2nd period class on the first day of school and the teacher (an older women) asked me if I was on the wrong building.
(The district elementary school is right next door)
