Ahh gotcha. Yeah, I take forever planning everything out and so then by the time I have a good plot and good characters, I don't have any motivation to write the actual thing. x3
yeah my advice is basically
-speed through the first planning time (be as brief as you can without leaving out major points)
-at this point, you only need the vaguest idea of the characters; know where they start and if they do anything major
-smooth out the plan so that it's paced like a real story, but be open to potential changes
-speed through the writing and actually go back and edit the plan every time you have an idea for a change
-the characters should develop as you go along because you know where they start and any major scenes with them
-they will also develop by accident; go with the flow unless you know for sure you need to fix a scene to make a later one work
-then go back and edit, spending as much time as you need/want
writing scenes in the wrong order is also generally advised, though it's something I usually have trouble doing
I also 100% understand how much fun it is to plan stories rather than doing the actual writing; that's probably my biggest problem (along with procrastination)
