oh, amazing! how is it celebrated? with a countdown and stuff too or?? i don't rlly do it formally so i can't answer this super in depth. but it marks the beginning of the Days of Awe which is 10 days for introspection and repentance. we don't really celebrate it per say?? it's a quiet and subdued holiday. there's certain readings you're supposed to do. you have to blow the shofar which is a ram's horn 4 different ways i think it is?? after services, there's a meal and you have to light 2 candles before eating. foods eaten include apples and honey, and then round challah instead of braided like normal

introspection and repentance sounds good, things would probably be a lot nicer if more religions had a semi-mandatory thing for that
thank you for explaining!!
