What if cats only mated to have kits and keep the Clan going and nothing more. How different would the series be?

A lot of plot filler would be taken out. The cats would spend more time trying to fufil the actual plot and defeat the bad guy, rather than focus on how their crush doesn't like them back or w/e

Well, the cats would certainly be slightly more realistic in terms of only mating to continue on gene pools without taking mates. o;

They'd be more like real cats, but the series would be less fun. Sure, the romance was sometimes poorly developed and/or used as filler, but there are some really good pairings out there that make the series a lot better. There could stand to be less, but I don't think the romance disappearing all together would be a good thing.

It would be more like real life. She-cats are constantly either pregnant or nursing while the toms control the clan, and they only mate to have kittens. You basically just described warrior cats in real life, or just general wild cats in real life. Cats don't love each other, they mate to have kittens.

Honestly, it would probably be better. The romance in this series was never that great IMO. Like Twister said, a lot of filler would be gone.
However, it would only be better as long as the Erins don't go into too much detail of the fact that cats mate for kits only. I can see some parents getting uptight about that considering how the cats in the series act. Just make it kind of like OS where it happens in the background and we don't even find out who the fathers are and we're good.

Um...there wouldn't be any drama Despite being an action series, it may still abound with love drama but there's still other sources of drama like freindship drama (Lion and Heather in a way) family drama (Millie and her kits, Leafpool and her sister, in-laws and her kits, Dovewing and Ivypool, Flametail and Dawnpelt, Violetkit/Twigkit) betrayal (Tigerstar and "Heathertail"), interClan tension (Sunningrocks, Twoleg campsite) prophecies and omens etc. Now that I think about it they could simply substitute friendship drama for love drama. |
