hmmmm yeah though i would rather not if it's a murder case :x That's the kind of case I'd want for jury duty-- not because of someone's death, but to see how a jury decides and whatnot. They're probably the most interesting cases out there compared to a robbery.

true o_o
i mean
I'm just really afraid that it's going to be do with something that happened last year. A friend of mine was murdered by a friend's brother's friend who I knew of association and as far as I know he hadn't been convicted...
I'm terrified that it's going to be to do with something like that.

I've done it before. I just wait for the whole "Excuses" thing; tell them I'm a full time student at said univesrity; then they snap their fingers and tell me to go back to school.

I'm pretty sure if you know the person being tried, or if you know anything about the trial beforehand, they send you home and get someone else (to prevent bias). At least that's what i was taught. you probably don't have to worry.

I would use the Uni excuse but I won't be in Uni at the time of the courtdate.
It's okay sand owo I was a little while ago. Of course it was terrible and I was terribly sad but its in the past now and even if the court case is about that i'll be excused because I know the people involved.

I've never done it: I got the letter, and was actually scheduled to go in for one, but they say to call the night before to make sure it's still on, and it was cancelled the night before.
But yeah, if you have anything to do with the case then they'll send you home. My mom had to go in for one but ultimately wasn't chosen as a juror because she worked in a lab at a hospital at the time and that had some relevance to the case even though she knew nothing of either person involved.
My little sister (a university student) was actually on a jury sometime in the last year. She said it was interesting to see how the whole thing works, it was so hard to decide because you're affecting someone's life (she did think the guy was guilty, which was what the jury decided in the end, but it's hard to be 100% sure you're right.)
