Attempted to kill 4 cats because he was upset over a relationship that's never happened. Thistleclaw never killed anyone and never had shown any signs of being evil and was STILL sent to the Dark Florist.

Some people theorize that Ashfur was acting on some element of himself that was healed when he joined Starclan.

Ashfur certainly isn't innocent, but the thing with Thistleclaw is that he definitely does deserve the Dark Forest. He was arrogant and rude and needlessly cruel to the point where he vowed to mark the borders with the blood of his enemies. He tried to kill Oakheart, goaded Tigerpaw into harming Tiny, tied to teach Whitekit advanced battle moves and didn't seem to care when he got hurt as an apprentice, was harsh when he trained Tigerpaw, trained in the Dark Forest, and disrespected both StarClan and the warrior code.

Only StarClan cats can decide who goes to StarClan or the dark forest, Bluestar had a petty grudge for Thistleclaw, so there he goes.
Then again, I said it before, Ashfur is a wasted opportunity by the Erin's to make an awesome dark side, then turned to the light character.

Maybe StarClan helps the cats they know deserve to be there in, but the ones like Ashfur have to find it themselves?

I guess Longtail didn't make it then, he was pretty blind and didn't have magical powers, he could've stumbled blindly into the Dark Forest for all we know |
