One thing that annoys me is the lack of Clan diversity. There's basically nothing that distinguishes each individual Clan aside from terrain and prey. If each Clan practiced a different religion and had different cultures or something, the books would be a lot more interesting.

Honestly, one of my favorite things about Warriors is that the main characters get so much attention, us fans get to make up personalities and headcanons for those who barely ever get screen time.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you there. The Clans are basically cardboard-cutouts of each other, aside from their territories.
I also really dislike the lack of research put into the series. A majority of the herbs are toxic to cats in real life (or have no effect), the genetics and fur colors/markings (along with eye colors) are all incredibly unrealistic, etc. The world that they have built had so much potential had they taken time to research real life tribes. They could have had gods, spirits, specific rituals and customs, different ways of communication, etc. all to make the world feel alive and varied. And yet they didn't.
There's a ton of other things I don't like about the series. There's not a whole lot a positively like about it. But I guess I favor the tight-knit relationships the first series had (well, the few occasions there were any).

To be fair they do have a religion. Other than that, I like the world building, but hate the writing

From the beginning, I always loved the allegiances. It was very helpful when I was new to the series. I also thought that a lot of the characters were very well written. And though the writing flopped in the OOTS/BrS era, the rest of Warriors was pretty well-written. I also like the Warrior Code and the herbs.
And I don't mind that the cats aren't really realistic. If they were, all the cats would be brown and red and that would be very lame.

It would give the books some much-needed realism, albeit subtle realism. To each their own, though.
