Sometimes, the snow would cover the thin ice over the river, and it would be impossible to know whether you were about to fall in or not." Nightheart said, flicking his tail.

"I don't know. I always thought Bumbleheart would be nice, but I guess I never really put thought into it that much." Bumblepaw sighed. "Plus, after my mother died... I just figure that Sparrowstar will know better than I will. Same thing for my siblings."

"You learn how to avoid some things. And when it snows over to much you avoid the river area. Honestly, it just comes with practice." Nightheart said, before turning to the hawk. "Now then, who wants to help me eat this? There's no way I can do it myself.

Cloudpaw nodded, looking thoughtful for a moment. "Same for me. Although, I don't know what my mother's, or my father's for that matter, name was. Heck, I'm not sure if they're even dead, or still out there somewhere. I don't know how to honor them, or if I even should." She sighed. Pain flickered in her eyes and she muttered something under her breath. She purred a bit to cover it up. "Not that I worry about that or anything." She added hastily.

Lilacpaw carefully ripped a chunk of feathers off. "We may as well use some of these feathers to line your nest." She suggested, setting them carefully aside. She continued pulling the feathers off and adding them to the pile.

"Oh, no, it wasn't your fault at all! I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything, especially considering I-" Cloudpaw said,cutting herself off before she finished. "Do you smell that? Water vole! Do you want to catch it?" She asked, rushing over her words so quickly they stumbled together.

Lilacpaw dipped her head respectfully and stepped away from the bird. "You take first bite, Nightheart!" She said,forcing herself to look away from the bird despite her growling stomach.

"Don't forget we need to go back for the fish." Bumblepaw said, unconsciously flicking Cloudpaw with his tail. He padded a few steps away and took a deep breath, trying to draw in any prey scent that he could.

"Of course it doesn't taste like a mouse, it's a bird." Nightheart said, chuckling a little bit.

Cloudpaw flinched as Bumblepaw's tail brushed against her. She quickly touched her nose to his side and fought down a purr. "R-right! We won't forget" she stuttered. Giddiness bubbled up in her and she shook her head to clear it away, reminding herself to focus. (I regret nothing. They need a ship name, lol.)

Lilacpaw went hot. "Well, I mean, I knew that! I was just... um.." she stammered, racking her brain for an excuse. She shifted from paw to paw as she thought desperately.

"It's cold, isn't it? It's surprising there's still prey around in this weather!" Cloudpaw said and shivered. "Let's get that one piece of prey and go back to camp!" She laughed.

Lilacpaw nodded awkwardly. "Right. I'm more used to mice and rabbits than hawk." She said, laughing at herself.

Twist hopped onto a branch and gazed down at the Sparrowclan border. His ears pricked as he noticed a cat, clearly not from Sparrowclan, lurking. "You! Who are you?" He shouted.
