(Literally so true. I do it too, and I wrote the description! x3 I guess the tiny forest on the edge of the terrirtory is just a really popular place for hunting  ) Sparrowstar looked up at the sound of her name and ambled to the entrance of her shady den. "Oh, hello, Mistyfur!" She purred upon seeing the warrior, dipping her head to Sootstripe as well. "What can I help you with?" "You just have to have a little willpower!" Jadepaw announced, stretching her jaws to fasten around the wings of two birds and dragging them, triumphantly, all of five steps before she let them drop to the ground. Her whiskers twitched. "Or maybe not..." Suddenly, she shot to attention again. "Oh, I know! We could try building something to hold them all out of branches; I've seen Mistyfur do it tons of times while we were training!" She glanced at her companions. "Between the three of us, I bet we'd be strong enough to drag it back to camp." |

Silverpaw nodded. "Good idea! Maybe if we get three sticks and attach it to a large leaf and put all the squirrels on the leaf?" He tilted his head to the side to see what they thought of it.

"Victory is mine!!" Brindlekit called, burying their teeth in Smallkit's stomach fur and pretending to eat him. They kept laughing and snorting while they did so, breaking the act.

Batpaw followed, bounding through the grass excitedly. He looked around as he did so, staying behind Bumblepaw but keeping an eye out for the trees he'd mentioned.

"Yeah, sounds good!" Jadepaw replied, swinging her tail as she searched around for a few sticks large enough to support their load of prey. "There!" The tabby she-cat trotted over to a fallen branch, brushing a paw lightly over it before declaring it reliable. "This should work as one of the sticks." Dipping her head, she fastened her teeth around her discovery and began to heave it back to her friends.
"A report?" Just a hint of concern flashed in Sparrowstar's eyes, but she banished any of the more significant doubts beginning to swirl in her head and fixed her attention on Mistyfur. "Come in, please, and tell me what happened."

Bumblepaw darted around a rock and saw the tree's coming up. "Their just up ahead! Come on!" He called behind him.
Mistyfur nodded and padded through the entrance. She settled down just inside the den leaving enough room for Sootstripe to come in as well. "Sootstripe and I went out for ait of hunting, but while we were out there we encountered a rogue." She said, getting straight to the point.

"Great job Jadepaw!", Adderpaw purred as her tail swung low and she padded to Jadepaw. "I'll help aswell" she then continued to collect leaves and kept them in her mouth trying not to crush them.
Smallkit snorted as he squirmed his legs flailing about as he started making weird noises and tying to act dead but failing miserably due to Brindlekit tickling his stomach.

Batpaw sped up, feeling his legs burn a bit as he did so. He spotted one of the trees looming high above the ground just ahead and felt a flutter of excitement in his chest, keeping just behind Bumblepaw.

Sootstripe padded stiffly into the den after Mistyfur, settling down beside her.
Sparrowstar's eyes darkened. "A rogue on our territory? Did you talk to them?" She asked, steeling herself. She doubted that she was the only one still suffering from memories of the recent battle; seeing her nervous would do her clanmates little good. "What else can you tell me?"
Jadepaw grinned and set down her branch beside the pile of prey, forming the base for the structure.

Bumblepaw glanced back with a grin, which turned out to be a mistake as he ran into one of the very trees he had been talking about.
"To the best of our knowledge she isn't part of any larger group, and she was just curious. However, it sounds like her home is at the edge of our territory fairly close to the camp... What worried me the most was the fact that she knew where our camp was." Mistyfur reported.

Adderpaw nearly placed the leaves over the branches helping to cover up the prey before continuing to collect more branches and placing them down making sure to cover up as many spaces as possible.

Silverpaw got a thick stick and dragged it back to the group with a couple leaves to fill in the rest of the empty patches. "This looks good!" He said, blue eyes sparkling.

"I think so, too," Jadepaw declared, surveying their creation with a critical eye. She reached out a paw and adjusted one of the sticks slightly before scooping up as much prey as she could clamp between her forepaws and half-shuffling, half-tossing it onto the contraption. "It hasn't fallen apart yet...that's a good sign!" She teased.
"You're right, that is concerning," Sparrowstar replied slowly. "But I'm glad she didn't seem like an outright threat. I'll send out a patrol tomorrow morning to make sure she hasn't wandered backโmight one of you be able to lead it?" She added. "I trust you two ensured that she left the territory?"

Mistyfur nodded. "I'm sure if I can't do it that Sootstripe will. Don't worry about the rogue, she's gone unless she reentered the territory after we sent her off.
"Other than a tree deciding to jump in my path, I'm fine." Bumblepaw chuckled, shaking his head in an attempt to clear it.

Sparrowstar dipped her head gratefully. "Thank youโboth of youโfor handling the situation so well. And thank you for letting me know. Now you might as well go get some of that prey I saw you bring in earlier before the whole clan snaps it up; you must be tired," she teased gently.
"I'm not," Jadepaw replied, puffing out her chest, though she absolutely was. She tossed a final load onto the makeshift sled, and the last pieces of prey settled into place. "Let's get going!" She suggested, her green eyes sparkling in the dusky light. "I want to see if it works."

Brindlekit finally gave up acting and sat back, a grin on their face and their tail lashing with glee. "That was really fun!" they mewed before letting out a wide yawn. They licked their paw and clumsily started to groom their face, drawing a white paw over their ears and eyes.

"Yeah I can't wait!", cheered Adderpaw as she marched proudly around the area her tail swaying to the rhythm of her marching as her ears perked up.
Smallkit quickly flipped around and scrambled into a sitting position as he started to groom his ears "Yeah it was fun!", he purred as he flicked his tail.

Silverpaw looked over their contraption, his clear blue eyes beaming with excitement. He gently took hold of one of the sturdy sticks in the back, latching his jaws onto it and starting to push after all the prey was loaded on top. "Everyone will be so impressed!" He said with a new half-muffled from the stick in his mouth.

"Me too!" Jadepaw purred as she fastened her jaws onto another branch in the back, falling into step beside Silverpaw to balance out the weight of his pushing on one side. "It's...heavy..." she huffed around her mouthful of bark, though her eyes were sparkling. Just wait until we come into camp with all of this prey!
Sootstripe trotted after Mistyfur, exiting the den hastily. "Hopefully I'll see you on the patrol they send out tomorrow," he remarked, a smile creeping across his features. "After we've both gotten some much-needed rest."
