the answer you gave was wrong, and I'm trying to figure out why. You did the same as me and had a wrong sign are you sure? building it back up you get 3x^2 + 3x - 14x - 14. which is right. ? or am i doing something wrong ): I dunno, I gave your answer to the program and it rejected it. I'm still trying to figure out myself

I've looked at the AC method. Don't you have to put the smaller number on the left? I honestly have no clue

I told the teacher that I was struggling last Thursday and that I would try over the weekend... Aww, now I'm blushing, Patty. (May I call you that? It's so much easier than Patience)

➳ well I could explain one if you give me a problem
Or here 3x^2 - 2x - 1
So, how can I get 3x^2? I can use 3x and x. (3x )(x )
Now how do I get 1? 1 and 1. (3x 1)(x 1)
I need to pick the signs in such a way that I end up with -2x. (3x - 1)(x + 1) Try factoring out. 3x^2 + 3x - x - 1. Nope. Try (3x + 1)(x - 1) 3x^2 - 3x + x - 1. Yes!
Solution is (3x + 1)(x - 1)
