Seriously Su, you could've just changed the way the kits died. Elderkit could've been that son Brindleface had lost to greencough and Tulipkit the kit that died soon after birth. Wow Su, you are a total genius!

Your suggestion wouldn't make it better, because both Tulipkit and Elderkit are referred to as toms in the books, you know.
(My proof? In Into the Wild, pages 226-227 the dark gray kit - Elderkit - is being mentioned as a tom. How we know he's the first kit to die and not Tulipkit? Because in Fire and Ice on page 112 it states "A speckled kit followed her [Brindleface], then one more. A third kit, pale gray with darker flecks like the other tumbled out and fell onto the ground." Or in other words the surviving kits are all speckled gray - that's how i interpret that anyway. Later on, shortly after Brindleface's second kit [Tulipkit] dies, Frostfur mentions on page 227 that Cloudkit "won't replace [her] son", meaning both the dark gray as well as the light speckled gray kit are toms)

It does sound like that, but it never acttually said that it was speckled gray. It says "One more" but it never said one more speckled kit. Im pretty sure it meant just a kit. Not a speckled kit. if it is you do not have to mock her intelligence just because you have a problem with toms having feminine names.

The problem is that Tulipkit was she-cat at first, and that it was weird to have it chaned even though it could've been made differently and still be accurate as I explained up there. And I don't have much of a problem with Puddleshine anymore after good points being brought up. |

Well Fernsong was originally female, and Rowanstar kept going back and forth with his gender. I'm petty sure Fernsong was always a tom, it's just that the fans assumed he was female until the TAQ allegiances were released. |
