Time to break every pet peeve in my AU fanfiction.
--People that name their cats after something human-made.
I can't say I've read too many fanfictions, but I was part of the Ask Community which is pretty much one big fanfiction.

When the main character is abused by everyone in the Clan for absolutely no reason, while their sibling is adored by all. And their names are always something like Uglykit and Beautifulkit.
Troll fics. They're unfunny Starkit's Prophecy try hard knock offs at this point.
Everything in my fanfics, because they suck.

When people try too hard to make the cat names as exotic as possible.
... Windleap is a cool name too. I'm sure he/she would be a better character than a cat named Fragrancewhisper anyway.

--When cats commit suicide by slitting their throats with their claws (this is surprisingly common???) my oots au has claw throat stabbing XD I'm sorry but I can't with that. I don't think it's even physically possible!! When people try too hard to make the cat names as exotic as possible. ... Windleap is a cool name too. I'm sure he/she would be a better character than a cat named Fragrancewhisper anyway. omg yeah any time you get into more surreal, artsy territory with the names. |

I hate super unique names like "Phantomwisp." I know you're trying to be unique with your main character's name and all (can't have them be TOO normal  ) but so many of them just sound stupid. Lack of canon character fics. There's way too many original Clan/original character fics and not enough fics about the canon characters to make up for it. Would you rather hear about the aforementioned Phantomwisp or Redtail? In my opinion, I'd choose Redtail. I'd be interested in seeing what the author can do with a canon character. |

Lack of canon character fics. There's way too many original Clan/original character fics and not enough fics about the canon characters to make up for it. Would you rather hear about the aforementioned Phantomwisp or Redtail? In my opinion, I'd choose Redtail. I'd be interested in seeing what the author can do with a canon character. I personally don't feel comfortable enough writing canon characters. IDK if anyone else is like that. |

i absolutely hate fanfiction where it's like 'boo hoo feel sorry for me everyone hates me'
a lack of moral grey area where the main character is either good or evil
where a cat is called good or evil even though it's clear they're in a grey area |

Eyes being described as orbs, especially when it's frequent.
When the story is about two kits who are either loved or hated for no particular reason. Bonus points if their names are something along the lines of "Uglykit" and "Perfectkit".

ORBS Lemons Pulling the Die For Our Ship trope and turning characters into the scum of the earth just because they get in the way of a ship. Like having a cat supposedly being in the way turning into an Ashfur. Human AUs "This is my AU, but it's canon  " The cat in a prophecy is the main character. When someone like Silverstream or Crowfeather hurt Leafpool or Millie for "being taken away". I read a fanfic that Silverstream killed off Millie because she took Graystripe away from her. It is out of character and Silver approved of their relationship anyways.

When a cat is able to kill a large animal in one shot. (It mostly happens with Foxes, which kills me.)
Impossible pelt/eye colors. (Black cat with blue eyes/Any "Yellow" cat.)
When a story only focuses on the main character plus important side characters, while background characters are only there to be killed off. lmao.

this also applies to rps, but characters with names that use actual seasons for prefixes, like 'Winter-' or 'Autumn-'
whyyyy especially when in the fanfic the seasonal terminology for Warriors is used. These cats shouldn't know what Winter is, they have another word for it

These cats shouldn't know what Winter is, they have another word for it Tbh the only excuse for using Summer Autumn or Winter is if it's a kittypet since all the cat knows is that it's name sounds like that but it doesn't really "get" what it's named after Also I personally cringe whenever you get a Loner/Rogue named Blood or Gore or Death or Famine because then you just KNOW there's gonna be an 2edge5u with a broody dark backstory that wants to kill everyone. Even Scourge fell into this category and he's canon |
