I have a cat, his name is Ted Named after the bear on my bed He's not very cuddly, affectionate, or friendly But I love him, and he's my buddy
He often claws the furniture legs Gets in the dog bowl, and never really behaves
He always looks at me with a narcissistic glance As if saying 'I don't really care, when's the next supper?' He always seems to be hungry, and complains of how often we feed him even though we feed him as much as a cat should each day (You should know, dear Teddy, we feed you plenty, but just not enough to get you fat!)
He likes to jump across the tables, making papers and knickknacks fly Of course if we confront him about this, he'd much rather lie Blame it on the dog, if he could speak Why, I could just imagine him if he could form words "Buy me more toys! More food! More treats! I want lots of stuff to eat!' Although it could be quite neat He could tell me all the secrets tabbies keep Or why he loves to cuddle with my big stuffed cat Or how he feels about how people act with cat superstitions Or even how animals have that certain intuition About how earthquakes can appear so suddenly
Hey, wait a moment! Where is that cat? He's right here in my lap! Purring and a' kneading on my leg! Maybe my cat loves me after all!
