Why do people hate him so much? He was in love! He was jealous! He was hurting! It's only natural to be angry, what, do you all just think he should have been happy-happy-joy-joy that Squirrelflight totally betrayed and used him for that jerk Brambleclaw? It's not like he was actually going to kill her kits anyway, I mean, he clearly felt bad after trying to kill Firestar, and he just wanted her to know she was hurting him. Gosh! I'm sick of everyone saying he didn't even love her. Of course he did! You can't just put your stupid standards of "love" onto every single character, everyone is different. He totally loved her and it's okay that he went a bit crazy. Love makes you do crazy things. Should we all hate a cat like Willowpelt because her love for her children made her crazy enough to fight a badger? NO! Leave Ashfur alone! He's good! He's a saint! He's (*static noises and mumbling in the background*) Whoa, where did that come from? Being gone for so long must have scrambled my mind a bit. Anyway, writing that was painful but I felt my grand entrance had to be... a little fun. Y'all didn't think I was gone forever, did you?  |

I can observe this controversial characterization through both sides.
From a social structurally standpoint, he wanted Squirrelflight to feel the same pain he feels in his ashy knees. Plus, the Clan's eat jay birds, chew leaves and the mountain lion was terrorizing the Tribe. There should be absolutely no reason with burning a lion that's already metaphorically burned alongsie holly leaves and jay feathers.
And he didn't plot with Hawkfrost to kill his leader. In fact, if I'm remember correctly Hawkfrost put Ashfur in a fox trap because he's foxy.
Consequently, Ashfur has ashy knees which tremendously demonstrates a deficit appreciation of moisturizing. This can be affiliated to his dislike of RiverClan. It can also be shown when he thinks it's acceptable to go die in a stream.
And Ferncloud did provide him with assistance in finding a satisfactory lotion product. Even providing kits to burn, gel for his emo hair, hair ties for his pigtails and even health class. But he declined most of these, the exception being the possession of egregious commodities like fur ties for pigtails (to advocate for animal cruelty)To have the Ashyfurry (or just ashfur to diminish the pestilence title length) on Ashfur knees could be damaging to ambulate hind extremities. Without emo hair we can't have a proper representation of high quality anime adapted from mango. The mango was better because mainstream opinions matter(Ashfur would disagree because he'd die in that too) and citrus can give vitamins that activate. Without health class you are committing sacrilege against the practices performed by medicine cats, who are religious leaders. This is abuse.

I feel sorry for Ashfur, Loss was an affiliation that never let go of his heart. It is too high a price even for life everlasting, which now an horrible thing.
The accumulation of grief over one lifetime is more than a heart can bear, Only the heartless can withstand more. Or the very young, those naive to truly understand loss.
