Brookheart watched Salmonpaw patiently and silently, hoping the tom would make a sucessful catch. After all, it was always more hopeful to make a catch than to miss one. He gave a nod of urging approval.

Salmonpaw waited until the fish stopped in place before making his move. He aimed a paw slightly ahead of the fish, surprised that it had caught on his claws. He quickly nipped it as it stopped moving. "I did it!"

"Excellent work, Salmonpaw. You're as fast a learner as your father. Perhaps even more so." Brookheart gave a humored chuckle, nodding at his catch with contentment. "Bring it to the bank and return back. I'll show you a diving catch."

Salmonpaw nodded, holding his catch with joy. He went to drop it off at the bank, returning to Brookheart.

Salmonpaw nodded, holding his catch with joy. He went to drop it off at the bank, returning to Brookheart. Brookheart nodded his approval once more, before he instructed to Salmonpaw. "Now, we'll go a bit further out, until the water laps at your shoulders. We've already practiced diving, but now we are to apply that diving to catching fish. You cannot panic when you are under water. You must be controlled and sharp if you want to make a catch."

"I'm ready." Salmonpaw told his mentor, stepping back into the river. He went farther in this time, letting it reach his shoulders despite how cold it was initially.

"Alright, Salmonpaw." Brookheart waded out to his apprentice, clearly a large and tall cat by how the water reached only his belly. He looked at Salmonpaw and nodded. "Keep your eyes on the water. Fish like to travel in groups sometimes, and will prefer slightly deeper patches. If you see a lot of silver shines, it means fish are grouping. That is where you want to dive. You have to bite and swipe at the same time to trap them."

Salmonpaw nodded, taking a deep breath and holding it to test how long he could last. "Can I see underwater?" he asked, blinking as he noticed how clear the water was.

"You can, since the water is clear today. But the water will sting your eyes if you hold them for too long, so choose wisely how long you'd like them open." Brookheart hummed thoughtfully, before he looked at the water and mewed. "Do you see any fish groups?"

Salmonpaw peered through the surface. "I don't see very many." he mewed. "But there are some lone fish..."

"Hm. I have an idea." Brookheart moved slowly around in a circle, wading his legs around as though corralling the fish towards Salmonpaw, and perhaps that was just what he was doing. He mewed. "This is good for teamwork fishing. I will drive the fish closer to your location. You'll be more likely to spot them and catch one when there are many."

(All my cats will attend, but don't be surprised if I don't rp them...I've got a lot of cats...) I summon theeeee) Smogstorm limped heavily into camp, a proud look in her blue eyes as she carried a fish. One of the first she had caught by herself since her injury. While she'd never be able to march into battle alongside her clanmates, she certainly could fish if she was patient enough. She hobbled to the fresh kill pile and placed it down, taking a deep breath from the strain of getting used to moving with only three legs. Jaggedpaw chased after Ospreypaw, the younger apprentice's eyes lit with mischeif as she held one of Jaggedpaw's nest feathers in her jaws.

(Okay... Here goes! *Desperately tries to remember original RiverClan territory* *Pulls up map* *Remembers the big hefty river in there*)
"This isn't a good idea!" Tawny squeaked, taking a step back from the rushing river. "Come on, scaredy!" Willow laughed, approaching the river. "We're joining a Clan who's whole lives revolve around water. You can't be scared of the water now!" Tawny frantically shook her head at Willow's words. "It's dangerous, Willow. We could be swept away," She pointed out. "It'll be fine," Willow replied, dipping one chocolate-brown paw into the river, and quickly pulling back. "Okay, let's not swim." Both kits looked around for a moment, before Willow noticed some stepping-stones. "Aha!" She mewed, running over to them, with Tawny cautiously following. "C'mon! Our future Clan... Probably awaits! That is, assuming that I got the directions right," Willow added.

(I'll just have the deputy find em!) Diamondheart swished his tail, approaching the river and giving a small grin of contentment. The weather was lovely and the fish were returning in plenty. He moved to settle beside the river, ready to fish, only for the deputy to freeze quietly, his blue-green eyes narrowing lightly as scents wafted past his nose. Outsiders. No clan scent. He stood quickly, looking around sharply and moving his nose to the ground to track the scents.

(Okay!) Willow hopped carefully onto the first stepping-stone, watching the water thunder past just below her paws. With a careful step, the first stone was vacated, ready for Tawny to climb onto, which she did. A few minutes of this method later, and both she-kits had easily crossed. Tawny sniffed the air cautiously. "I can already smell the Clan!" She mewed excitedly. "Of course you can!" Willow laughed. "We're on their territory!" Diamondheart had tracked his way down the River long enough to finally hear the voices of what were clearly not clanmates. He bristled lightly, claws extending in readiness in case he had to make a rush back to camp for backup. That was, untill he noticed the size and age of the two intruders. She-cats, and not much older than his own daughters, but old enough to be somewhat on their own. He watched from the reeds at first, before he saw them padding deeper into Riverclan territory. Taking a deep breath, the white and silver deputy pushed his way out of the reeds and called out with his usual calmness. "Do not be frightened, but I must tell you that you're tresspassing on Riverclan territory. Why have you come here?"

Tawny froze completely in her tracks. They hadn't expected to encounter any Clan cats until they found the camp! Willow sighed, rolling her eyes, and pushing in front of Tawny. "We're looking to join the Clan," She explained calmly - Probably a lot more calmly than a kit her age should know how to be. Diamondheart blinked in slight surprise. "Join...Riverclan? Pardon my surprise, little ones, but clan life is not something one can overlook and consider as fun. If you truly desire to join Riverclan, you have to truly adapt to our ways. Clan life can be very harsh..." The deputy looked at them and mewed. "Alright. Before any decisions are made, what are your names, little ones?"

"Willow and Tawny. Good names." Diamondheart hummed, his blue-green eyes gazing at the kits with almost humor now. They truly did remind him of his own kits. Had they been older, he'd have been more sharp, but...they truly were not that old, and he even felt a pang of weariness that they had been on their own for a moon. He blamed his paternal instincts at this point, but he didn't want them out on their own with greenleaf bringing predators out.
He shook his worries away and introduced. "My name is Diamondheart. I am Riverclan's deputy...How about this? I will escort you to our camp and you can speak with our leader. In the end, he decides if you may join us or not." He offered.

Diamondheart nodded. "Come along then. And be careful not to make alot of noise with your paws. We can't attract predators." The deputy warned gently, waving his tail to usher the kits alongside him. He padded on, asking them. "Where are you both from? Are you sisters? From Twolegplace?"
