"Okay!" Ospreypaw cheered with determination, sliding after Eelpaw with trembling legs. She hadn't slid on ice often, so she was certainly not as fast as he was.

Eelpaw rounded around the reeds, using his claws as an anchor to help him turn. "You're doing good Ospreypaw!" He didn't have anyone playing with him that often. This was nice.

Ospreypaw gave a grin of pride, only to squack as she fell on her belly after a long slide. She blinked for a moment, before she laughed loudly. "Aw, what a goof I am!"

Eelpaw slid over to her. "You have to use your claws to control your speed and turning." He slid out his claws to show her. "For traction you have to use your claws more on this ice, not your pads."

Ospreypaw tested it out, using her claws more to keep herself sliding without falling. The steering was easier as well, and she praised. "You're real clever, Eelpaw! This is so much better."

"It about as fun as chasing minnow!" Eelpaw snickered. "Could you imagine if the whole river froze over? We could take back Sunningrocks by leading ThunderClan onto it, if the whole clan knew how to fight on ice, they wouldn't stand a chance!"

Ospreypaw listened with bright eyes, humor in her voice as she snickered. "That sounds like the kind of battle I'd want to be in! I guess you'd have to lead it, making the plans after all!"

Eelpaw flicked his ear and shrugged. "That's if I can figure out how to preform battle moves on the ice. Of course, if the ice wasn't sturdy enough to hold all the cats, then the battle would be over faster than water moves through the river."

"I bet we could master some moves right now." Ospreypaw grinned. "Icepath's a great teacher. I'm learning a ton." The young apprentice bragged.

Eelpaw smirked. "Well, Icepath isn't as good a mentor as Troutfang." He crouched then suddenly pounced on Ospreypaw. "How about some ice training?"

Ospreypaw gasped. "Liarrr! Icepath is wayyy more experien-oof!" She cut off as she was bowled into. She gave a high laugh, eyes blazing with challenge. "Bring it on!"

Eelpaw backed off her to let her get up, he sturdied himself with his claws in the ice. "Alright, take your best shot!"

Ospreypaw gave a nod, before she lunged for Eelpaw, sliding across the ice right towards him with a delighted battle cry.

One flick of his claws in the ice and Eelpaw was sliding out of the way, he shifted his weight so that he spun to face her, his paws not even coming off the ground. "Nice try, Ospreypaw."

Eelpaw flattened his ears but he thought quickly. Suddenly, he smirked. "Alright then." They were on ice, no one knew it better than he did. Eelpaw suddenly shot forward, using his claws in the ice to build up speed and pull Ospreypaw along.

"Well most of the clan are furry, boring lumps. But I'm an adventurer and the most fun cat you'll ever meet." Ospreypaw joked boldly, kicking another pebble across the ice and grinning at Eelpaw.
