So, it's been confirmed that Whitestorm fathered Brindleface's second litter, but as we've known for a while now, he's also the father of Willowpelt's third litter. Willowpelt became a queen in Forest of Secrets, and Brindleface was still in the nursey at the time. Either Whitestorm took both cats at a mate at the same time, he simply left Brindleface for Willowpelt, or maybe there was another reason for this, like maybe Brindleface wanted another litter and Whitestorm offered to be the father, but not necessarily her mate or something like that.
However, Whitestorm doesn't seem like the type of cat to have two mates at once or like he would leave one for the other while the first one is still in the nursey... or is he? What if Whitestorm really was a cat who would do that and we were just given a very biased account on his real character thanks to Bluestar and Firestar?
This is all just speculation of course, but what do you guys think? And while we're at it, what other accounts did you guys perceive as bias?

I think Redtail is the father, I don't care if the Erin's deconfirmed or some [curse]. We all know at this point to take any kind of confirmation with a grain of salt

We're projecting what is seen as the more "honorable" thing in our society I think, onto a character that was seen in world and by us readers as honorable. In the OS the characters behaved more as cats and were portrayed as that and so I think it should almost be expected that he (possibly) had more than one mate at very close times. If we view this as a norm in the cat world Whitestorm is still the awesome and honorable cat he was portrayed as. His love life shouldn't define him too much (unless he did something horrible of course).

In nature a tomcat has many different mates in his lifetime. But the cats are acting like humans, and so many mates and kids from a male person living peacefully together is definitely not usual for humans.
And Patchpelt was Goldenflower's mate, he was also Tigerstar's uncle and his second mate was his own sister!
If Whitestorm is truly the father of Ashfur and Ferncloud than Sorreltail, Rainwhisker and Sootfur are their half siblings.

I mean, they're cats an it's not that uncommon. Especially in the first arc where the cats were more like cats. I think a number of toms have fathered two litters with different queens at once. Someone in Yellowfang's Secret comes to mind, I think. Yeah, Toadskip. Both of his mates even commented on it. |

It's nice to be talking about Whitestorm. There's usually little to say about characters like this because there isn;t much to them and they're liked/loved by the majority.

I think the clan may have been low on numbers at that time, so perhaps he just mated with them to keep the clan going. I don't really see it as a problem if both she-cats are okay with it.
