Grace didn't respond, too fixated on the ship to their right. Squinting as she tried to make out smaller details on the ship. That simply couldn't be the ship she believed it to be, but lo and behold it was. Huffing to herself as her pale face suddenly took on a red color. It was too early for this. "I have an idea and you'll probably think I'm mad." She announced, climbing back onto the crows nest and looking at James and Berlin. "Seeing as we are at the mouth of the English Channel bets are those two ships are supposed to be keeping an eye out. So if you want to get by without appearing suspicious I suggest that you move ever so slightly closer to the ship on the right and allow their captain to board. Then tell them that you have a war report that you must get to Admiral Reeves as soon as possible, and if there are any problems allow me to handle it." She explained, her gaze once again locked on the two ships.

James stared at her for a moment. Her idea was outrageous. But wasn't this whole plan in general quite crazy as well. James sighed and turned to look at the ships, rubbing the back of his neck. He could feel Berlin watching him sharply. If James listened to Grace there would be a grumble with the crew. But he didn't have another idea besides changing course. James finally nodded curtly, "Right then, Berlin. Move us closer to the one on the right." James said, dismissing the man. Berlin gave him a bit of an odd look, but went down anyway. James studied the British ships and then turned to Grace. "What are you schemeing?" He asked curiously with a small, but tense smile.

Grace glanced at Berlin as he climbed down, sharply exhaling before looking at James. "You will have to wait and find out, now I have some mopping to do." She replied simply, besides it would be best if he didn't know. "Just have a little faith in me and it should smoothly." She added before backing up and starting to climb back down. Oh this had better work out or she may have to kill some people.
( And here we have Grace being insane cx )

James sighed,he could trust her. For sure. But he was still a bit hesitant to lose his ship. James stayed up in the crow's nest a few moments more to watch as the ship slowly swung toward the British ship on the right. He'd need to be down there to do what Grace told him to do. He took a deep breath and steeling both his nerves and his brain. He could do this.
(xD This will be great)

Most of the way down Grace took her feet off of the ladder and slid down while still holding onto the sides with her hands. Once on deck she let go and quickly walked over to where she had left the cleaning supplies, grabbing the mop and getting to work. Taking a deep breath when she noticed that the ship was pulling up along side to speak, a knot of nervousness taking its place in her stomach.

James stood by the side of the his boat and watched as they slowed and were directly beside each other. "I need to speak with Admiral Reeves immediatly, I have a war report and he must be notified!" James shouted loudly when there was no voices from the British boat. A thumping came about and a thick board thunked on the railing beside him. It was how the British sailors boarded other boat. Footsteps came from the other side and James took a deep breath. (It's okay, mobile is hard to roleplay on )

From the other ship came three men, two were merely soldiers wielding muskets with swords hanging from their belts. Both dressed in standard attire but lacking the wigs, as did the third man. Their demeanor stiff and emotionless as normally called for men of their rank, both of these men crossed the board first before standing beside it. The third man to cross was obviously of high ranking with his nicer uniform, but he was younger then both of the soldiers at what looked to be around 25. Once the other men stopped he calmly approached James, unlike the other two he only had a sword that remained sheathed. At 6'2 and appearing to be solid muscle the man was intimidating to most, his dark brown gaze swept the deck of the Bloody Mary before stopping near James. "A war report for Admiral Reeves you say?" He asked in an odd voice, his accent seemed to be a mix of an English accent and a French one. This younger officer happened to be the extremely well known Commodore Matthias Reeves who had rose to fame from defeating a Spanish Armada when his Captain had been slain, then quickly climbing the rank in the navy favored for his skill at find and capture many pirates once given the order. Then to top it off he was the second youngest son of Admiral Ezra Reeves, who the captain standing in front of him apparently had a war report for, this was bound to be interesting.

James watched the three men board his ship. He forced himself to keep his proud, very proper air about him. Seeing three British soldiers on the deck of his ship made his temper flare. But James kept himself in check and exaimed each of the young men before his gaze stopped on the one who spoke. This one was obviously the leader of the three, or at least the higher up. James gave a curt nod. "Indeed, I need to speak with him immediatly." James said, plastering a look of need on his face, but it wasn't a urgent sort of look. Simply one that needed to get something done. He hoped it was convincing enough. Grace hadn't really told him what kind of war report he would be giving or what to say after shouting that he had a war report.

Commodore Reeves opened his mouth to respond when James spoke again, what kind of report did this man have that was so important? But before he could say anything he heard what sounded like a bucket hitting the deck, loudly. His gaze flickering in direction of the sound that was being followed by footsteps, it looked like a cabin boy. "Captain!" The cabin boy shouted, in what was a very convincing young, boyish voice. "You didn't tell me that we'd be meeting Commodore Reeves!" Coming to a sudden halt in front of the Commodore, noticing that the two other soldiers had stiffened. "Is it true that you defeated a entire Spanish Armada? What about pirates sir? I never thought I'd ever get to see you in person!" Grace asked excitedly, a massive grin spread across her face when she noticed that the Commodore looked very confused.

James almost jumped as the sound of a bucket hit the deck. He'd been so instensly waiting to see what happened next that the sound nearly gave him a heart-attack. James managed to keep himself from jumping and he turned to Grace. "Cabin boy! Control yourself!" He barked sharply. He wasn't sure how all captains treated their cabin boys. He only knew the treatment that he himself was given. Which wasn't kind in the slightest.

Grace was pretending to have a hard time standing still. "Sorry Captain." She apologized, still staring up at Commodore Reeves who was watching both of them. Doing her best to stand straight and proper. "It's alright Captain, I get this fairly often," The Commodore cut in, having a bit of a soft spot for young cabin boys who were still learning the ropes of the sea. "But your cabin boy needs to learn some manners or they could get themselves killed out here." Glancing at the cabin boy with a frown. Grace couldn't help but smile at the commodore. "My apologies Mattie, I forgot that you knew how to keep yourself alive out here." She spoke, dropping her fake voice and all. The commodore stared at her for a moment before rolling his eyes. "Grace." He huffed.

James glanced between the two, throughly confused. This captain knew Grace? "Mattie?" He muttered in a confused tone under his breath so the other two wouldn't hear. James stayed quiet, even though his curiousity was tugging him to say something. What was going on? He arched an eyebrow and glanced back and forth between the two once again. Grace seemed to know what she was doing, but he didn't have the slightest idea what her plan was.

Grace glanced over at James, since they were far enough from the two soldiers she figured she could talk normally so long as she wasnt too loud. "Well I figure that I should introduce the two of you, Captain this is a childhood friend of mine Commodore Matthias Reeves, and Mattie this is another friend of mine." Choosing not to share James's name for safety purposes and it wasn't her place, giving Matthias a playful glare. "You grew up to be a really pain in the backside." She informed her old friend lightly. Leaning closer to James. "I've got this." She whispered.
The commodore rolled his eyes again and shook his head. "Pleasure Captain," He greeted before glaring right back at Grace. "Like you are any better? I have a capture list for pirates like you and your ever so lovely title is right on top." He shot back through gritted teeth when he realized his men were starting to appear curious. "Don't give me a reason to regret this," He muttered before turning back to his men. "At ease men! They merely have a report for Admiral Reeves, you may return to your posts." He called, watching as after a moment the two men turned and walked back over the board to their own ship.

James looked a bit confused until Grace gave introductions. He looked at the Commodore with a crooked grin, "Pleasure." He said in a flat tone that lacked all enthusiasm. He glanced at Grace when she whispered and gave her a slight, unnoticable nod. He stayed silent as they spoke, keeping his ears and eyes open to figure out everything that was going on.

The Commodore turned his attention back to Grace, not terribly concerned about the Captain. "Now do you really have a report for the Admiral as I'm assuming that is your reasoning for being in the Channel?" He asked in a terribly uninterested tone, he was used to chasing after Grace trying to get answers of some sort. "Or do I need to take my favorite little pirate and throw them overboard?" He added in a quieter tone casting a glance at the other Captain, hopefully he didn't take it too seriously. "And if you do not have a report what in the world do you want?"
Grace flashed Matthias a teasing smile while rolling her eyes, "Not a written one, and if you touch me I'll break your neck." She stated calmly with a wink, then shrugged. Breaking his neck was really the least she could actually do. "What do I want? Well you see there happens to be a chink in your armor my good Frenchie." She replied coolly, watching as her friend stiffened at the mention of his French blood. "Besides you owe me a favor, multiple actually. So if you want to pay them off..." She trailed off, muttering something in Latin about the Admiral and a report.
( I feel bad for James, he is probably so confused. Actually I think both him and Matthias are confused cx )

James continued to look back and forth between the two. The captain knew Grace was a pirate? And he wasn't doing anything? He owed her favors? What in the world was going on? Did she sail with the British at one point? Although he seriously doubted that one. She seemed to dispise them. Then again he didn't really know too much about Grace, did he? Wait, frenchie? Where was this bloody conversation going?! James was growing more confused by the second and he wasn't pleased with it in the slightest. But he also knew from his last experiences with Grace that running out of patience and asking questions often gained her anger and ruined some of her plans. Struggling to keep his mouth shut, James leaned back and crossed his arms, waiting for things to unravel so he could find out what was going to happen.
(xD He's like a lost puppy and is just looking at Grace like 'Please tell me you know what your doing because I am lost' xD)

( It doesn't help that they are low key flirting while threatening each other *cough* cx )
Matthias seemed more interested when Grace began speaking in Latin, having received a formal education he understood her perfectly and it made him uneasy. Narrowing his eyes as he thought about what she was proposing, it was a very good thing that they were friends or there would be some serious problems. "Fine," He muttered in a darker tone, his dark gaze seemed mildly annoyed with the scenario. "So long as you can promise you will not lose the report, we don't need another one to up and go missing because of you. Now don't move." He ordered before walking to the board and going back to his own ship to retrieve this report they were talking about.
Grace frowned lightheartedly at the mention of losing a report that had been given to her involving the war fair in Ireland. "You're lack of faith in me is disheartening Mattie, besides I didn't lose the report... I just misplaced it." She replied in an oddly smooth voice. "I won't move an inch." She assured, the moment Matthias turned his back and started walking away she smirked. Oh this was going so well.

(XD James is sooooo awkward right now, I'm not sure whether to laugh at him or feel bad xD He is stuck in a very confused and uncomfortable situation)
James waited until the captain, or 'Mattie' as Grace had called him multiple times now, was boarded on his own ship. He looked a Grace with a expression of relief, but still obvious confusion. "So...I don't speak Latin and I have no idea what this is about. Am I allowed a little bit of insight in this or am I stuck on the side-lines till it's over?" He asked curiously. A bit anxious to get answers. The whole situation was out of his hands now, and while he trusted Grace. She was the Red Reaper was she not? She was know for her deceit. He simply needed to know what was happening. Or at least a peice of what was going on.

Grace raised an eyebrow and looked over at James when he began speaking, listening to his question before casting a glance at the other ship. "Well I'm not sure which part you are trying to ask about but I will try and fill you in the best I can," She decided out loud, he deserved to know what was going on so she might as well tell him what he needed to know. "Matthias is a friend of mine, he actually spend a brief amount of time on my father's ships as a boy before going into the British navy as many of his siblings did but he has some loyalty issues from being on trade, or rather pirate ships and he's half French which makes it a little worse." She explained about her Commodore friend. "Now he owes me some favors, and because of that he's going to give me a real report that if we are caught anywhere in the Channel we just wave it in front of someone's face and we have safe passage. I just have to give it away once we get to Jersey. Make sense?" She asked, her green gaze running across James's face to see if he at least caught some part of this whole situation.

James listened intently to Grace's explaination. Well that shed some light on the subject. He nodded slightly. "It makes sense. That's actually very convenient." He said with a small smile. Things were getting alot easier around here. He glanced over his shoulder at Berlin who stood at the wheel of the ship, ready to turn her on James's order. James looked back at Grace, "For being so nervous about this, your doing quiet well at appearing completely calm." He said lightly, his gaze moving to the ship to watch for this Matthias fellow.

"Very convenient," Grace agreed with a small frown tugging at her lips. These favors were because she'd give Matthias information about pirates that he was to capture, and in return he wouldn't touch her ships and sometimes even do little favors like this. Glancing back to James when he commented on her appearing calm, truthfully her stomach was in knots but she had to keep it together because this whole trip was her problem, and James's crew would probably throw a fit if she acted nervous. "Good." She breathed, stiffening when she heard footsteps on the board again. Seeing the Commodore out the corner of her eyes she made a few steps in that direction.
Matthias hopped off of the board and walked straight to Grace, a roll of parchment tightly gripped in his hand as he glanced back at his ship before holding it out for her to take. "Do not lose it," He stressed the moment she went to take the parchment. "And try not to read it either, it's not yours." He added with a blunt edge, if that report disappeared he could be in a lot of trouble. Once she nodded and tried to pull it away he lowered his voice, still tightly gripping said report, "Keep an eye out for my little brother, I swear that kid is going to get himself killed one of these days if he isn't careful." He requested quietly.
Grace's gaze flickered up to meet his, doing her best to appear calm with the request even though all it did was remind her of the fact that her ships location was unknown and someone else seemed to have them "Already done, besides he's probably with Torin and Magnus. Not worry about him he's in good hands." She assured even though for all she knew it could be a lie, pulling the parchment out of his hand and putting it in one of the pockets on her uniform.
Matthias nodded slowly at her answer, it was probably true but he had been hearing rumors that were worrisome. Realizing that he needed to return to his own ship and let them go on their way he couldn't help but smile. "Well my lady, if you ever decide that you aren't interested in piracy anymore you know where to find me." He said with a wink. Grace merely rolled her eyes at him. "Well if you are into corpses I'll keep that in mind," She replied smoothly, deciding that the fog obscured his crews vision she straightened up and kissed the commodore on the cheek; then sharply punched his shoulder. "Now get out of my sight you ugly Brit." She hissed teasingly with a scowl. The Commodore smiled as he rubbed his arm before turning back around and heading to the board. "See you around my lady." He replied, being quiet enough that he was pretty sure that only she could hear. Quickly crossing to his own ship and taking the board down, shouting some orders and his own ship pulled away to keep patrolling the Channel.
( Long post, I just wanted to get it all out of the way cx ) ( Aaaaand drum roll please!~ more confusion. And no those two aren't in a relationship, they might have been once but no. )

James watched in a confused silence, but his eyebrows slowly rose and when Matthias left he looked at Grace. "Childhood sweetheart or secret lover?" He asked in a teasing tone before turning around and signaling to Berlin. The large man heave the wheel a bit the the left and they slowly lurched forward, moving past the British ship.
(XD James is like 'Wait I thought she was married?? Didn't she hate her husband?')

Grace merely shrugged, it was a complicated relationship. "Well I haven't been married for awhile... So I do what I want." She stated, it would never work out but that didn't stop them from flirting. Narrowing her eyes she pulled out the parchment from her pocket, quietly flipping it over and looking at every visible bit of the report. It made her incredibly curious as she was told not to read it.
( Yes cx but that doesn't mean she hates other people even though being stuck in a relationship doesn't appeal to her, but sometimes messing with people does. )

James chuckled, "Well that sounds like trouble. I've found its far easier to be alone, then you don't have to worry about anyone except yourself." He said in a breezy tone as he moved toward the front of the ship to see if they were still on course. Obviously, they'd be a bit behind schedule. But with this 'war report' from the Commodore, even if they ran into a British ship, they'd be safe to sail past. Hopefully.
(xD sounds like lots of flirting and lots of fun)

"I wish." Grace muttered to herself, being alone wasn't something the girl found enjoyable. Being alone generally meant she wasn't with her family, which in turn made her worry about them, unless she knew where everyone was it was always that way. Deciding to not let her mind dwell on the subject she carefully held the report up, squinting and trying to find any little imprints or spots where the ink bled through that she could try and read.

James stared out at the open water, squinting with a sharp gaze to try and see through the fog. He pulled out a roll of damp paper and unraveled it. So far they were on course, but the waters would be shifting around noon or so, they'd need to move quickly if they wanted to avoid getting caught in them.

After a couple short moments Grace gave up on seeing anything without opening the report, she'd have to try again later with a lantern. Huffing in annoyance before putting it back in her pocket then walking over to where James was, briefly debating whether or not she should ask about the course. "So, what have you figured out with the course?" She asked curiously, eyeing the paper in his hand.
( Are you sure? Sometimes I get carried away. )

James glanced over his shoulder at Grace and then moved his gaze back to the water. "We'll be heading this direction for about a half mile. Then we'll need to turn 55 degrees west. If we make good time, we should be able to avoid the rough currents that might hit us. However if we don't we'll get caught in between rough currents moving south and storm winds blowing north. The faster we move the better." He said in a thoughtful tone as he watched the sea. The speed shouldn't be too hard, he only hoped his calculations weren't off or they could get caught in a terrible situation that no war report could get them out of.
(Yea, its fine. Everybody's characters have their ups and downs. I mean, James was incredibly annoying and nosey at first xD)

Grace quietly nodded as James spoke, her gaze also landing on the sea; watching the small waves for a few seconds before shifting her attention back to him. "What if you head 55 degrees to the west shortly before we reach your half a mile?" She suggested curiously before stepping forward and leaning across the railing to get a better view.
( cx And Grace was snappy and rude, which was kind of fun since she is supposed to be kind of cruel but I know how to really play with her personality without her getting involved in and argument and/or a fight. )

James frowned a bit, "Well that would cut our time by about 20 minutes. But I don't have much charted in that direction. We could get hit by rough water or winds and that could slow us down. But if we aren't hit by anything we would make good time that way." He said thoughtfully, looking down at his chart.
(XD Yea, I guess they are both developing in thir own special ways xD)
