"Bearclaw" he meows to the rest of the warriors flicking his tail impatiently as he sheathed and unsheathed his claws

Do you want me to start as a new apprentice or can I do what it says as my character sheet?)

"I'm Stonebelly of RiverClan! Nice to meet ya all!" a muscular brown tabby purrs, swishing her tail happily. "We should probably get started soon, I guess."
(Stonebelly will be the first official NPC of the group, and also functions as a "tutorial cat." Be sure to pay attention to learn the basics!)

The "Lets hurry and get going" Bearclaw meowed impatiently. He was very eager to prove how good of a warrior he was.

I've never played this before but it looks like a lot of fun. Is this still open for people to join?

(Such interest! Yes, you all may join! Just make a character using my instructions from earlier.
I suggest making a warrior, based on everyone's general age. Also, you can just jump in- just pretend your character was there the whole time, or have them randomly join the party. Either way is fine!)
"Well, it'll probably be best to head to the fields. Little critters are all around those places!" Stonebelly meows. As she leads the way, her ears twitch.
(TUTORIAL: CHECKS
Checks are how you attempt and possibly complete actions. These are used by using a Skill. Each skill has a base stat, and the skill level is the addition. Let's see how Stonebelly attempts a Check...)
Stonebelly's eyes narrow. She knows there's prey nearby...
(Stonebelly's Intelligence is 1, so there is no point in using something like See or Smell to track prey. However, her Spirit is 3, and the Listen skill, which is based on that, is at +1.
If she attempts a Check without spending chips: Spirit 3 plus Listen 1 equals a total of 4- more than enough to find a mouse!)
"I think I hear something!" she whispers, crouching down. Sure enough, there are some mice scattered around.

Icefeather followed Stonebelly's gaze, and she could also see the mice. (Her See check would be 3, and since she knows there are mice there, I'm just going to assume the check works).
"Can I also try one?" she asked softly. She didn't want to accidentally scare some away and ruin Stonebelly's catch.

(Everyone's forms look good! Welcome!)
"Let's get this lil guys, then!" Stonebelly mews, crouching down. Her muscles tense as she prepares to pounce. (Pounce target: 3)
(TUTORIAL: SPENDING CHIPS
Oh no! The target is 3, but Stonebelly's int of 1 and pounce of 1 make a total of only 2! She'll never catch the mouse!
...Unless she spends chips, that is.
Each stat also has a respective number of chips. For example, a strength of 3 gives you three strength chips. Spending chips improves the check total. However, you cannot regain these chips until I say you can refresh your chips. Keep track of what you spend, and don't overspend! Saving chips for later is important, too.
So Stonebelly spends an int chip...)
The brown tabby lands squarely on the mouse. She opens her jaws wide and snaps at her prey. (Bite target: 2, 3 str= 3 total) She grins and says something, but it's muffled by the now-dead mouse in her mouth.

Fennelnose watched the other cats hunt with disdain. He turned his head away and took a sniff of the air, trying to determine how close his quarry was. (Smell l + Int lll = 4 on a smell check, trying to zero down on a prey animal. What's the result, tinybreeze ?)

Okay um... I hope I'm doing this right.))
Padding up to a small stream nearby the group, Leafheart peers over the edge and looks for any swimming fish. Intelligence 2 plus See 0 = 2(Is that enough to see any fish?).

Fennelnose, despite the many scent trails, located a mouse. It is rather large, but very jumpy as well. A Pounce of 4 is needed.
Leafheart sees the flash of silvery scales, although only a few fish can be seen. Due to being underwater, they will need a Swat check of 3- based on Intelligence.

Fennelnose watched his prey as he slowly lowered himself close to the ground, making sure to be extra careful not to tip off the mouse. He focused hard as he got into a hunter's crouch, then, once he was certain that he'd make the kill...
(lll int, 0 pounce. I spend 1 intelligence chip for an extra point. lll int [before spending] + l extra + 0 pounce = 4)
Fennelnose sprung suddenly and flashed out his claws at the last moment. The mouse started with a fright, but just barely hooked onto his claws. Fennelnose didn't hesitate; his prey could slip away from his grasp if it gave a good struggle.
(What's the bite check for this lil bugger?)

The mouse squeaked in fear and pain as claws dug into its back. A Bite of 2 would take it out, since it was only a mouse.

(ll str + 0 bite = 2) Without a moment to waste, Fennelnose bit down on the pathetic creature, fangs piercing deep into its body. Once the mouse gave it's final breath, Fennelnose took his jaws off the fresh-kill and licked his bloodied lips. Once the crimson was off his muzzle, Fennelnose looked over his prize properly. "Not too shabby for a bad pounce, if I do say so myself."

"Hmf," Stonebelly replied with the mouse still in her mouth. She had to admit this tom was good, but she didn't have to like his attitude. She glanced over at the others. Hopefully no prey was scared away yet.

Icefeather, seeing everyone else start crouching into a hunting crouch, spotted her mouse started sneaking towards it. She decided to put in some effort to make sure she didn't scare her prey and everyone else's, so she used her Stalk knack (so now her Sneak check is 4). (are they hunting near each other right now or are they far away enough that she doesn't need to worry about scaring others preys?)
Chip Supply: St:2 Int: 3 Sp: 1

Seeing flashes of silver, Leafheart swiped a paw into the narrow stream to try an hook a fish. (Intelligence 2 plus Swat 1 = 3, enough to catch the fish.) Within a moment, the fish Leafheart scooped up from the stream was squirming on the shore before her paws. With a swift bite, the fish stopped moving. Grinning, Leafheart picked up her prey and began to head back to the group.

Flarefur crouchs and trys to listen out for any prey. (intelligence of 3 and listen 1 = 4, so the check works right?)

Thanks to Icefeather's silence, no other prey is disturbed. In fact, this gives a bonus to her Pounce check, bringing the target number down to 2!
"Nice catch! Personally, fish is the best prey ever," Stonebelly purrs. RiverClan bias, of course.
Listen is based in spirit. However, if you want to use a see or smell check, Flarefur sees a mouse! It has a Pounce target of 3.

Leafheartd replied back with a slightly muffled purr "Thanks." Setting the prey down at her paws, the RiverClan warrior added with a flick of her tail tip "Fish really is the best. I can't imagine eating anything with fur on it!"
