About an hour after he left, Sol returned to his rooms. He was carrying his coat, and he draped it over a bar stool on his way to the bedroom. His shirt sleeves had been rolled up, but it hadn't stopped his cuffs and the front of his shirt from being stained red with blood. His hands, at least, were clean, though the nails showed that they too had been blood covered not too long ago.
☆~☆~☆ Seth shook his head, then reconsidered. "Maybe, for Alia," he said softly. "But if you had stayed, I doubt we'd be... here." He gestured between them, indicating he meant them and their relationship, and not their location.

Parker heard the door to the outer room open, signaling the return of Sol. Perfect. Maybe he could snag another hour of laziness with his lover before they had to leave the port. As the footsteps approached and soon entered the room, the young man turned over so he could look at Sol. "Hey, where have -" he began, but soon stopped himself short as he spotted the red stains on his shirt. Sleep abandoned him as he sat upright. "Sol! What happened?" he asked. He paused or only a few seconds before his worry had him throwing the covers aside and rushing to inspect the captain for wounds.

Anya wasn't entirely sure what he meant, but she thought she had an idea. "We would have gotten here eventually," she said. Or, at least, she hoped that statement was true. If things had been different, who knows what would have taken place, what all the confessions and bonding moments, or maybe the lack of, would have led to.

Parker flinched internally at the cold response, but the message was clear. He stood there for a moment more, waiting for something, anything, else to be said. When that didn't happen, he swallowed done the rising temper. "Of course. What would a useless farmboy know of captain logic?" He asked. He turned and gathered up his clothes for the day. Then took them to go change in the other room, slamming the door a bit behind him.

Her smile grew a little at his answer. "You better not," Anya agreed. She wouldn't just be losing the man she loved, but she also be losing a dear friend if he left. And since she already damaged one childhood friendship, the thought of not having Seth around was something she wasn't ready to think about.

Sol wanted to correct him — he was far from useless — but he couldn't. Not now. He just needed Parker out. He was not fit company now, as his behavior suggested. Of course, as soon as Parker was gone, Sol wanted him to come back. Muttering angrily, he quickly pulled out a clean shirt and headed for the bathroom to wash up. He didn't look at Parker as he passed, and he locked the bathroom door behind him.
☆~☆~☆ An answering smile appeared and he came closer, so their lips almost touched. "Never," he promised. "Even if you kick me to the curb, I'll be there, keeping you safe."

Throughout the argument, the dogs had both been curled up on the couch, doing their best to ignore the tension between their people. Now, as the men went their separate ways, Artemis moved to lay in front of the bathroom door to wait for Sol, while Apollo hurried after Parker.
Out on deck, most of the crew were busy hauling provisions onto the ship and down below decks to be stored away. Others were prepping the ship itself for their imminent departure. Beckham was overseeing everything, and when he spotted Parker, he immediately set him to helping out.
☆~☆~☆ Seth didn't reply. He just kissed her, like he'd wanted to since this conversation started. His mouth sealed over hers, his kiss soft and unhurried, yet with a layer of heat held just beneath the surface.

The day passed swiftly. With favorable winds, the short trip from Feinster to Aroughs became even shorter. The good weather also meant that the majority of the crew got to take it easy, which was a welcome reprieve after days of stress and hard work.
While the crew took shifts working and resting, Sol spent the day at the helm, or holed up in the navigation office. The only one who bothered him in there was Beckham, and even he only did so when necessary.
It was midnight when they arrived at Aroughs. Sol took the helm and expertly guided the ship into port, unbothered by the dark. Once the ship was secured to the docks, everyone was given leave to depart or stay at their leisure. Other than a few crew members who would see to settling the ship in for the night, no work needed to be done until morning. Nobody argued, and soon the ship was mostly deserted.
☆~☆~☆ ( That's up to Anya, actually. 😏🤣 )
When Anya broke for air, Seth lowered his head and kissed the spot where her shoulder met her neck. Then he rested his forehead on her shoulder again as his breathing steadied.

The day wore on as usual. Parker calmed down some while the main part of the work was finished, so on the down time he had, he spent in a semi better mood. But did that mean he went to find Sol? Nope. He stayed around Quill or Mason, and if they weren't available, then he would talk to other friends or simply enjoy alone time by the railing, looking out into the dar stretch of the ocean. Bug he never once thought of finding the captain.
Not even as night fell and they prepared to enter the port of Arroughs. The work was a little more difficult in ths dark, but they experienced no trouble at all. As the crew was dismissed, he had a moment to wonder what he should do, stay or go? He was so used to going to Sol's room at night, yet he wasn't in the mood to see the captain, if he would even be in his room. Besides, if anyone should be making an attempt to find the other, it should be Sol. After all, Parker had only been asking the questions he dis because his worry and concern for the man had gone crazy seeing him covered in blood. Maybe he could have been calmer about it, but he still wasn't in the wrong. He wouldn't be slinking back to be thought of as too unimportant to share simple answers. Decision made, he left the ship along with Mason and Quill, going to find a inn to stay the rest of the night.

The kiss hadn't meant any ill intent. Anya knew this. However, the feel of his lips on the neck brought back the ghost touch of Daniel's. It lingered, heavy and cold against her skin, and it was all she could do to keep from freaking out. To try and fight it, her arms tightened around Seth and she took several deep breaths to keep her calm. She didn't want to ruin the moment.

(Perfect! 😈)
Parker never sought out to get drunk. Knowing how he got, he tried to avoid it when he was out in public. His filter ceased to exist, and there was no concern of boundaries or limits that kept his actions or words in check. It was just a bad thing to have happen when he had spent his whole teenage experience hiding his eye for men. Tonight, however, just sort of happened.
He had gone out to get a late night meal and a drink with the others. He wasn't planning on staying long since it was past midnight. He did plan of sleeping at some point. And the drink was only supposed to stop at one. However, as the first glass was empty and his meal finished, there was no sign of Sol. He wouldn't have followed. He wasn't the kind of person, yet the ache that came with the solid proof of that fact stirred up his hurt and anger all over again. So he ordered a second. No captain. A third.
Four drinks in, and he was as good as drunk. Not all the way, but to the point where he wasn't starting to care. It was only thanks to his current mood that saved him from acting like a complete idiot. Did it save him from suddenly getting fed up and saying "That bastard better not be sleeping" loud enough for many of the other patrons to hear while storming towards the exit of the tavern? Not at all. But at least he wasn't stumbling all over the place.
Navigating through unfamiliar streets, using Apollo as his guide more than working off memory, Parker single mindedly headed back to the ship.

"No, really, it's fine," Anya said. "I-it's not even something that you did, per say. You didn't do anything wrong..." She was stalling, but every sentence she spoke the sureness of her voice was fading.

( This is gonna be fun. 😈🤣 )
Apollo had stuck solidly by Parker’s side all night. Now, guiding him back to the ship, he went aboard, sniffed the air a bit, and headed for the door to Sol's rooms. It had been left slightly ajar, so Apollo was able to shove it all the way open, letting them both in. Inside, the main room was empty, the bathroom silent. The bedroom door was open, the room beyond dark. The office door was shut, and a light shone from underneath. Apollo went and sat in front of the door, waiting for Parker to open it.
☆~☆~☆ "Anya..." Seth sighed. He tilted her chin up so he could meet her gaze. "It's okay," he whispered. "I know I trigger... bad memories, sometimes, and yeah, it sucks, but I can't help you through it if you don't talk to me."

(For you. I don't know what this boy is going to say! XD)
If anyone were to ask him anything about the way back to the ship, he wouldn't have been able to say anything about it. All he knew was one moment he was at the tavern, and the next he was walking up the gangplank to the Comet's deck. He didn't pause for a second as he walked to Sol's rooms. On a normal day, he might have knocked on the study's door. Not tonight. The man just grabbed the handle, pushed open the door, and entered with guns blazing. "You've got some damn f- ing nerve, you know that?"
~•~•~
Anya didn't want to tell him. The mood between them had already changed, and she could feel the making of tears. He didn't want to make it worse by voicing the memories. She didn't want make him feel bad about it. But the look in his eyes was just too caring, too inviting. "T-the kiss on my-my n-neck... I-I can't...." she started, but she couldn't make herself say anything more.
