( Mika: so anyway, I started angsting- Hope the premise is okay? You mentioned city first, so I'm going with that. I also introduced both the nonhuman danger & injury that we mentioned before? A twofer just in case. Of course, you can share your own ideas of who/what may have cursed Destiny! It can be part of her own character arc & backstory! If you don't have ideas, I'm happy to help! ^^ )
( just curious~ which plots are you guys writing? I just see mentions of training & fighting and I love that in a story~ )
( aand now to draft for Sen! I actually just came up with an idea for their date~ I have to run a long errand today but if I still have the energy I'll try to get that up too! )

(Some one has to be the responsible one in the relationship. Lol)
(It will indeed. XD That's like his one weakness. He'll claim to hate everything under the sun, but give him chocolate, and he'll never say no. XD Lol, yeah, I don't know why, but writing females was hard for me, which is weird because I myself am female. It was always the guys that were more distinct and just seemed to fall into place. Now though, I think I have a few good female characters that I'm pretty proud of. Lol, how did Irsen even win Celia over? XD)
(Lol, the earliest character I had was a cat named Nightstar. For a while I tried running a Clan, but it never did much, but I wanted to right a story about the clan. So I had her and a lot of her backstory and history wrote out, her mate, thebtragic loss of said mate. She was level headed or I tried to make her that way, and a leader who was willing to make sacrifices if the Clan needed it.
Then my first human characters had to be Peter, a guy I don't use often because he's got a mind of his own now and it feels weird using him for just anything, Winter, Destiny and Derek. The last three were part of a story I was trying to write, so they're all pretty much the same "age".)
(Normal it's the same for me. That is, until Parker came along. I'm using him in the plots I'm doing with Dreamer here, and he is a complete little shit. XD)
(Lol whatever it takes to make him happy. XD)
(Oh, this is going to be so good. X3)
(EXACTLY!!!! She has no qualms about laying beside him, or having her head on his chest because it's all good, they're just friends. Nothing to see here. XD )
(Will reply when I get home from work!)

Sol kept alert while Parker drank. When it was his turn, he washed up and drank quickly. He considered going for another swim to better wash off the sweat and sand accumulated since yesterday's swim, but he didn't think either of them could afford the distraction.
☆~☆~☆ Seth grinned. "Yeah, yeah, I'm going." He took a few steps then stopped. "Try not to work too hard. Your muscles are going to be sore enough after that workout." She would also likely end up covered in bruises. Seth had pulled his punches during training of course, but to prepare her for a real fight he couldn't not land hits.
☆~☆~☆ Callum gave a derisive snort, clearly not impressed, but Sebastian was the one who spoke first.
He waved off Lawrence's concern. "I'm not leaving, with or without Kyra, until after this threat has been assessed. So her services are all yours in the interim. Callum." He switched his attention. "Is there anything else you can tell us about the threat?"
"No."
"Then you can go—"
"But you might want to check your water supply."
Sebastian froze, cut off mid-word. He blinked and regained his composure. "Why is that?"
Callum nodded toward one of Sebastian's pockets. "Gordon has been drugging it. I don't know what it it, but I suspect you do."
Sebastian went absolutely still, a stillness different from a moment before. That had been simple surprise; this was the stillness of a Warrior. "You're sure he was putting this in the water supply? For the whole camp?"
Callum held his gaze steadily. "I'm sure."
Sebastian closed his eyes. "Shit."

( Of course! A common but important trope~ )
* ( Got him! >] ) * ( Writing male characters was a necessity for me, as there weren't a lot in the rps i joined. Even so, I've always been most comfortable with them. I absolutely love my ~Girls~ but now they're mostly in story form for some reason. Probably because I wrote them to be petty about common YA tropes. The majority of the 'heroines' really infuriated me so I made their antithesis a lot. Example being, a story from the pov of the protagonist's 'sidekick' who is the stereotypical party-loving best friend and is 'girly', something which the protagonist is above. But then while Protagonist is having stupid, easily solved arguments with her super boyfriend Sidekick is having cute little dates with one of their enemies so who exactly is the winner here? Lol ) * ( Yep, projecting onto them really helps! ) * * ( Lol Good question! It depends, as they are featured in a variety of stories/worlds but generally she doesn't know about the Sins personally, she's only been told about them. I think she usually meets a questing Sen pretty early and befriends him after a while because he's actually one of the least intimidating and is often in a good mood. In some plots she tries to kill him, in others she allows herself to be 'captured' so that she can take them down from the inside, and in a few more they're the familiars that she doesn't want. In all of them Irsen is really chill and way more supportive than anyone that she's left behind. He's just that kind of person~ she also latches onto him first because everyone else is Off The Rails. Wrath is a serene sadist, Lust is naturally trying to get her into his bed- he's not forceful but he's still scary because he once forgot to mitigate his strength and crushed a door handle by gently holding it, Gluttony wants to experiment on her, Greed befriends her before she realizes that he's just luring her into a false sense of security, Pride is ~Like That~, and Sloth naturally can't be bothered. Irsen is [Safe!] but she also falls in love with his character beyond just needing a sense of stability~ Surprisingly, Lust is the next one she gets really close to because he's the oldest and also ~very chill~. He's so powerful that he changed the very nature of his Sin~ Rather than just sexual desire, he's adjusted it so that he also has a very strong desire to protect his world~ Usually by conquering it but he sews plushies & weaves flower crowns for his little bothers so is it really that bad~? Lol ) * * ( Lust also happens to be one of my Favorite sins because sometimes when I write him I'm like "he's too cool!" He actually has a collection of things like broken arrows & burnt grimoires on display in his castle: they're proof of the many ways people have tried to kill him in the past. Lust occasionally invites visitors to join him on a walk through that hall as a silent way of saying 'Do Not Try Me'. ) * * ( They all become her ~Found Family~ eventually but it's through trial & error and sometimes influenced by another Big Bad that requires them to team up. * ( Irsen still likes to argue with her a lot and goad her into fighting him, however~ She gets to the point where she's like "battle dates aren't even a thing!" While Sen is brandishing his sword smugly "when I beat you I demand a Victory Kiss!" ) ( What initial story was Winter featured in? ^^ )
* ( Oh~ which clan did she lead? I would've liked to write a Leader but I don't remember if I ever got the chance. * I can't remember my first human characters...I think they were all female though, because in that case there were more male than female. Hm, and after being in a random Off Topic Rp with no real direction, I joined an rp about witches who summoned demons, then made a couple of PJO characters for another all whilst writing- and never finishing- my own stories. The prototypes for the Sins featured heavily. ) * ( I can understand that! Some of my boys can only be in certain rps because they don't feel as if they'd fit anywhere else. Fortunately the Sins are very versatile! In fact, you can meet Pride & Greed later, back in Irsen's palace~ they love each other too much for me to ever split them up, so if there's one in an rp I usually have to add at least one more. ) * ( How are those four connected? Were you writing a modern story or one with more supernatural or sci-fi elements? )
* ( The best characters always are~! ) * ( Ah, so you just want Irsen to suffer huh? Lol )

It was probably a good thing he opted out of the swim, because Parker's thoughts had taken a similar turn. He doubted he would ever see the pool and not think of what had happened between them, the turn their relationship has taken. While he didn't regret it, he was still just as confused and torn on the subject as he had been before, only now it was impossible to tell his heart that he should keep some distance between them. He had destroyed those attempts as he gave into the heat of the moment.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Parker glanced around the clearing, both to make sure nothing else was there and to distract himself. "Should we try and hunt for more food while we can?" he asked. "Without Victory, it might be a little hard to get game on land if that thing is interfering."
~*~*~
"Tell me about it," Anya half groaned. She could already feel the bruises forming from the blows she couldn't dodge or defend, but right now they were too bad as to hinder her. The woman made a shooing motion to get him going. "Go on before Aidan decides to leave you."
~*~*~
Lawrence glanced between Callum and Sebastian, clearly missing something. "What is it so I can send someone to deal with it," he asked the Rider.
(Short, but I had nothing else. XD)
Her life had settled into a predictable routine. She got up, fixed herself breakfast, got ready for the day, headed to work, and then came right home. It hardly ever deviated from this cycle unless she had to make runs to the store for groceries or other supplies needed around her small apartment. To Destiny, that was all she needed.
After turning twenty-two and securing a decent job, the woman had thought striking out on her own was a good idea. She had to get out of her parents' home sooner or later, so why not now? For a year now, Destiny had been making it, not exactly living the life of luxury, but not struggling either. Of course, it helped that her parents were only twenty minutes away and always offering to help her if things got overwhelming. So far, she hadn't had to take them up on that offer. At work, she got enough social interaction to last her the day, so by the time her shift was over, she didn't have the urge to hang out with friends. That might also have something to do with her not being able to hold a comfortable conversation for more than ten minutes, but the end result was always the same. She would go home and spend the few hours before bed relaxing and enjoying the peace before heading to bed and starting the whole process over again the next day.
Recently, however, there had been a change in this routine. It wasn't a huge one, but it was a change she both liked and wondered about a lot. For the last few weeks, Destiny had noticed the dog that seemed to be following her around. She had no idea where he had come from, but the poor thing looked lost. The first night she had caught him following her to her apartment complex, she had tried to lure the animal closer. Her efforts failed, and she was sure that was the last she would see of him. That wasn't the case. She seen him again the next night, not as close as he had been, but still there. From then on, she had been leaving food and water in spots near her complex in hopes that, if nothing else, he would have one good meal and fresh water available to him.
Tonight, one glance over her shoulder told her he was once more behind her, staying to the darker parts of the street as they walked. She smiled to herself. Even if he wasn't right beside her, it was still nice to know she had a companion as she walked under the street lights. It wasn't a long walk from her job to her apartment, but it was still more interesting with the dog around. She stopped by the crosswalk and waited for the signal for her to walk. It took a lot not to look back and find her furry companion, for he always seemed shy and hide whenever she tried to find him. She didn't want him to hide and be late for the allotted time to cross the busy road. If he got hurt, she wouldn't even now what she would do.
She mentally ticked off the seconds, knowing the change in the lights were about to happen when she heard a thud behind her. That was when something rammed into her. With a surprised cry, Destiny tried to right herself, but the impact was too forceful for that. She fell... right onto the dog. She wasn't sure what she was more surprised about: the fact that he had run into her, or the fact that he was so close, curled around her and snarling silently into the night. For a moment, she had no idea what to do. Then he was facing her, tail wagging, and she seemed to snap out of her daze.
"Hey there, bud," Destiny crooned softly, offering a small smile and holding out her hand to him. She didn't try to pet him right away. That was a good way to be bit. Instead, she would let him come to her if he was finally beginning to trust her enough to approach her.
~ ~ ~
(LOL, that's fine! I think it would have taken both as a push to get Mika to actually approach her. XD)
(We're doing the Dragon Rider plot. We've kind of gone a little overboard with the amount of character's we're focusing on in this world, so we've got three or for different POV's in the same timeline going on. XD)
*(Haha, I can relate. I feel like female leads in stories are all the same or follow the same structure, so finding ways to break my characters from those molds were challenging. Especially when I started rping. It's only now where I feel like I have a better grasp of motivations and backstories, and other things like that to make them stand out and be enjoyable to use.) (Lol, projecting always helps.)
*(And now I want to read their stories because they all sound so good, and I have this need to find out more. XD) (Winter's story was originally just a little slice of life about him. Basically it was to follow his final years in the foster system as he deals with finding trust in his foster family and battling his abandonment issues and trouble past as he grows. I'm still trying to work on it, but he's not being a very helpful co-author, lol.)
*(CaveClan. It was never very big, and I'm sure there was probably several other Clans named the same, but it was fun while it lasted.) (Lol, I can understand that. I had to think a moment about my earliest characters too. I'm sure there were other before the ones I mentioned, but none of them must have been too important since I couldn't remember them. lol) (Oh, let Sophia meet them all. XD I have to know how she'll react to them all. XD) (Modern. Peter never was used with the other three. He was just a stand alone. But the others were all used in Winter's story. It was modern, slice of life, no magic or sci-fi involved... which may be why it was so hard for me to write, lol. It's hard to right about things when there's not an element of fantasy to it.)
*(Oh, absolutely! XD)

Sol stepped away from the waterfall, pushing his hand through his hair to shake the water out of it. "We can try. Though we should move closer to the beach." He pulled his shirt out of his back pocket, shook it out, and put it back on.
☆~☆~☆ Seth blinked. "Aidan?" He turned and, sure enough, Aidan had finished with the puppies and was sneaking off toward the house. As soon as he saw that Seth had spotted him he grinned and started running. Seth laughed. He shot Anya one last parting grin, then took off after Aidan.
☆~☆~☆ ( Better than nothing. xD )
Sebastian sighed and rubbed his forehead. "You can't fix it. It's a Rider problem. This..." He pulled the pouch out of his pocket and held it up. "Is [random plant name I don't feel like thinking up xD]. In essence it's harmless. It doesn't cause death, or even sickness. Instead, it targets magic. Especially Rider magic." He turned to Callum. "How long has this been added to the water supply."
Callum shrugged one shoulder. "Can't say for sure, but I got the impression it's been at least a couple weeks."
Sebastian cursed again. "I need to examine your water supply," he told Lawrence. "And then I need to speak to all the Riders in camp. And any magic wielding humans."

(This man ain't giving Parker a break, strutting around shirtless and sweaty. XD)
Parker nodded, not even trying to hide the fact that his stare found its way back to watch Sol pull on his shirt. "Wouldn't there be more animals here, though? The beach doesn't exactly offer a lot of food, so there might be more rabbits in this area," he pointed out.
~*~*~
Anya smiled as she watched the two boys race for the house. Once they were inside, she shook her head and headed into the barn to work on the chores.
Felix was waiting for them inside. He had found, well his mother had found him, something to do to occupy his time. I the kitchen, he had several of the chars turned upside down, backs hanging off the edge, as he checked and tightened any loose screws that were holding them together. Maria had seen or felt one was a little wobbly, so he happened to be the man closest to fix it. He looked up from said task as the two entered the house. "You all ready to go?" he asked, tightening the final screw on the chair he was working on, and returned the ones he already finished to to floor.
~*~*~
"I'll send runners to let them know. The ones maintaining the wards might not be able to meet with you until someone comes to take their place, but I'm sure we can figure out the schedule," Lawrence said, picking up a pen and writing out a few quick summons to be taken to the people he was sure needed to speak with Sebastian first. Then he would work on the others. "Anything else?" he asked.

( Hell no. Where's the fun in that? xD )
Sol sighed. "I know. But the forest also houses the... whatever it is. It's not here now, but I'd really rather not tempt it."
☆~☆~☆ Seth caught up to Aidan easily, but chose not to pass him. Though he still ended up on the porch first, because he jumped over all the steps in one bound while Aidan's shorter legs could only skip the first step. Aidan called no fair but he was laughing as they entered the house.
As the entered the kitchen, Seth pulled out two apples and handed one to Aidan. "Yeah. Is it all right if Aidan comes?"
☆~☆~☆ Morgan: *still waiting*
☆~☆~☆ "I can spell the wards to last until their guardians return," Sebastian told him. "I would rather not have to go over this twice. Other than that, no. What about you, Callum? Is there anything else you need to tell us?"
Callum slid his gaze from one man to the other. He said simply, "No."
Sebastian held his gaze for a moment. "Is there anything more you want to ask him, Lawrence?"

(Absolutely none. XD)
"So, what? We'll just stick to fishing until Victory returns?" Parker asked. While he wasn't opposed to the idea, surely even Sol would appreciate some variety in the meals if they could.
~*~*~
"I don't see why not," Felix said. He looked to the kid and told him, "Just be sure to stay out of the way. I don't mean that to be mean, but this colt is wild. I don't want to risk you getting hurt. Think you can handle that?"
~*~*~
(Yeah, she's good at making him wait. XD)
It took fifteen minutes before Kyra returned, two beers in hand. She had to go all the way to the make-shift bar to acquire them, and even then they had closed up for the night. Luckily, it was a tent and therefore couldn't keep her out. She left the money for them on the bar, so it wasn't like she stole them. When she returned, she found Morgan right where she left him. "Heads up," she called to get his attention, then waited until he was looking at her before tossing one of the bottles to him.
~*~*~
Lawrence looked at Callum. As much as his actions and behavior got on his bad side, the info that he brought forth was important. "Next time you have something like this up your sleeve, talk to me first. I can assure you that it'll be easier to have me on your side, allowing you to slink around then having to hide your actions from me. That is, if you're even still in this camp by then. You are dismissed."

( Well then. xD )
"Better than us becoming some unknown creature’s next meal," Sol replied bluntly. But after a moment he relented slightly and added, "We can take a different route back to the beach and try to catch something on the way."
☆~☆~☆ Aidan nodded, trying to look serious and grown up. The apple juice running down his chin kinda ruined it. "I can handle it. Seth taught me to throw a punch today." He said it as if that knowledge meant he could handle any and all grown-up problems he encountered.
☆~☆~☆ ( Psh. Understatement of the century. xD )
Morgan turned at the sound of her voice. His head was still in the clouds, but his reflexes weren't, luckily. He caught the tossed bottle automatically. The touch of the cool glass finally pulled his thoughts all the way back to the present. "Thank you." He looked at the label, shrugged one shoulder, and twisted off the cap. "This has to be the earliest I have ever turned to a bottle," he said after taking a drink, trying for humor and falling a little short.
☆~☆~☆ Callum snorted. "I know you don't trust me, but you can trust that this was a one-time thing. Undercover work is not for me." Never mind that part of him had enjoyed "slinking around" pulling strings behind the scenes.

Parker nodded. Only now did he asked himself just how they would catch anything without proper weapons, but it would still be a good idea to know different routes back to the beach from the pool. Just in case. "Which way?"
~*~*~
Felix chuckled. "I wouldn't recommend punching a horse unless he's trying to bite you," he said, placing the last chair back on the floor. "You might find they don't take kindly to that treatment. But if the two of you are ready, we can get going."
~*~*~
"Eh, you get used to it when you have to deal with Rebel shit," Kyra responded. She popped the cap off of her own drink and took a sip. Beer was mild stuff anyway. Had she grabbed the whiskey, then it would have been concerning.
~*~*~
"See to it that it is," Lawrence said, and left it at that.

Sol consulted the sun before pointing off to their right. "That way." And he led the way, picking his way through the underbrush before finding an old deer track.
☆~☆~☆ Aidan looked horrified. "Why would I ever want to hit a horse?"
Seth laughed. He put a hand on his head to steer him toward the door. "You wouldn't, that's the point. You leave all the horse wrangling to the adults."
☆~☆~☆ "Not to mention Callum shit," Morgan muttered into his bottle. The Rebel stuff was a picnic compared to Callum.
☆~☆~☆ Without another word, Callum turned and left the tent. He spotted Morgan and Kyra immediately, standing just a few feet away drinking... beer? Callum glanced at the sky, confirming it was no longer nighttime. They were officially in the dawn hours. So why were these two drinking?

Parker was right behind him. He knew he should have been focusing on the trail and looking out for signs of wildlife, but that was really hard with Sol in front of him. Oh, he scanned the surroundings, but his hand itched to reach out and take hold of his, or to run up the solid plain of his back... Gods above, he was worse than a hormonal teenager! "I wonder just how big this place is," he commented, trying to distract himself from his thoughts.
~*~*~
Felix followed them both out of the house, and fell into step with Seth. The two were about the same height, so keeping pace with the other man was fairly easy.
(However you want to do the conversations, have at it because Felix's being stubborn. XD)

Kyra tipped her head in agreement to his statement. Just as she was taking a sip of her drink, said piece of shit walked out of Lawrence's tent. "Looks like they're done," she commented.

( Sissy. xD )
Sol lowered his arm. "No. They nest in the spring. But this island seems to have its own climate and seasons, so maybe it works differently here."
☆~☆~☆ ( Seth: I wouldn't go that far...
Quiet, you. Let's get this show on the road! xD )
Seth didn't answer. He moved closer to the round pen and peered through the slats at the colt.
Wild and untamed. Those were the first words Seth thought of as he got his first good look at the colt. With a coat of dark brown that bordered on black, made worse by the mud and dirt clinging to most of him, it was clear he had not let anyone near enough to groom him in quite some time. His mane and tail were long, tangled, and full of burrs; his hooves untrimmed, his eyes wild, his movements jittery. He was wildness personified.
That wildness called to something in Seth. He moved even closer to the round pen, his steps steady and unhurried. The colt continued to pace, but Seth knew he was aware of him, though he did an excellent job pretending otherwise. It wasn't until Seth put his hands on the fence that the colt acknowledged him.
With a squeal of outrage, the colt charged the fence, slamming to a halt just before crashing into it and then tearing off around the circumference to the far side. Seth didn't retreat an inch, didn't even flinch. He just smiled and put one foot on the lowest rung.
The colt squealed again and started running and bucking around his pen, purposely aiming his kicks in Seth's direction. Seth ignored that too, and climbed the high fence until he could slip over and drop into the pen.
Instantly the colt slammed to a halt, his head held high and his ears pinned. He looked furiously indignant to see a human in his pen. Then he squealed once more and charged.
Seth spread his arms wide and stepped forward to meet him.
The colt slammed to a halt again, head thrown high in shock. No human had ever stood against him before, and he did not know what to do with it. But Seth did. He took another step, then another and another, and brought his spread hands together in a loud clap.
Spooked and outraged, the colt spun away and began galloping circles around the ring, kicking and bucking once again. Seth simply stepped into the center of the pen and turned in place, never taking his eyes off the colt. If his kicks ever came too close, Seth merely leaned or stepped calmly out of the way. Most didn’t come near anyway, as the colt stuck close to the fence.
Eventually the colt stopped running, though he did not stop moving. Seth gave him only a minute, then moved toward the horse in his own faux charge. He didn’t get close, didn’t need to, to achieve the desired effect: the colt spun away and started running again. Seth once more turned in place to watch him.
Twice more Seth made the colt move when it looked like he was ready to stop. Both times the colt burst back into motion with a fury, eyes wild and legs kicking. The third time was the same, though the colt was starting to show signs of fatigue. Still, it took almost an hour of this before Seth finally spotted what he had been waiting for in the colt.
There was a shift. The colt hadn’t given up exactly, but finally his curiosity rose above the fear and anger. Seth did not know what had been done to make the colt bury that curiosity, but he was willing to put the effort in to bring it back.
That time when the colt stopped, Seth did not make him move again. He watched the colt in his periphery, turning slightly so he was no longer facing the horse head-on. The colt’s ears twitched, nostrils flaring but only with his heavy breaths. Seth waited… and then he turned his back.
He spotted Felix and Aidan one the other side of the fence, standing with Bennet, but he did not acknowledge them. He kept his senses tuned toward the colt, waiting for him to make his move.
It took a couple minutes. The colt took a step, hesitated. He leaned back as if to retreat but didn’t. He took another step. Then another. One more until, with a loosed breath, he walked right up to stand behind Seth.
Seth turned his head just enough to see the colt out of the corner of his eye. The colt’s head popped up at the small movement but lowered quickly. He stretched his muzzle out to sniff Seth’s shoulder, his back, his legs, and finally back up to his hair. When he seemed done sniffing, Seth slowly turned around.
The colt tensed but remained in place. Seth didn’t face him fully, instead keeping his body angled slightly away while still mostly facing toward him. He held still a moment. Then, still moving slowly, he raised one hand and offered it to the colt to sniff. After a brief hesitation the colt lowered his head and sniffed his palm. He even lipped his fingers, seeking a treat. So he wasn’t completely wild after all.
“Sorry, pal.” Seth spoke quietly, softly, but the colt still jolted at the sound of his voice. Seth pretended he didn’t see it, and continued calmly. “I don’t have any treats for you yet.”
Once the colt had relaxed again, Seth eased his hand up and stroked his head, from his nose to his forelock and back. The colt’s tail swished nervously but he accepted the touch calmly enough. Seth continued gently petting his nose until he was completely calm. Then he lowered his hand and stepped back.
The colt watched curiously as Seth turned and strolled leisurely toward the fence. After a couple of steps, the colt followed, once more slightly nervous but mostly calm. Seth ignored the nerves and continued on as if it was the most normal thing in the world to have the colt trailing after him like a lost puppy.
Seth walked twice around the circumference of the round pen. The colt trailed him at a distance, though that distance got steadily smaller as they went. After the second lap, Seth stopped near where the others waited. "You have a grooming kit?" he asked Bennet. The colt shifted slightly away from the fence and the people, but didn't run.

(You try dealing with Parker! He literally could turn me insane if he tried hard enough, and I'd rather not give him reason to do so. XD)
"Then surely ther chicks would have already left the nest," Parker mused. "Why is he here and not out with his mate?"
~*~*~
"Well, I'll be damned," Bennett muttered, watching the entire scene in amazement. He guessed he couldn't be too surprised. Riders were a whole different breed. Sure, it still took an hour so, but he hadn't seen the colt this calm in a while. "There's one in the barn," he answered Seth, he turned and hurried off to grab the kit. A few minutes later, he returned with the grooming kit, as well as a halter and lead rope.

( Hmm... 😈 )
Sol shrugged. "Maybe the warm weather means they can have young later in the year. If that's the case, then his mate is probably hunting."
☆~☆~☆ While waiting, Seth tried to get the colt to come close enough to the fence to let him meet Aidan, but he kept shying away. Seth couldn't tell yet if it was Aidan the colt didn't like, or the fence. In either case, he decided it was a problem for later.
Seth calmed the colt before returning to the fence to accept the grooming kit. "Thank you." He ignored the halter and lead for the moment. He was pretty positive the colt wasn't ready for that.
Seth put the grooming kit on the ground, stepped back, and waited. It took a few minutes, but eventually the colt approached the kit, head low as he sniffed cautiously. His body trembled slightly, ready to bolt at a moments notice. Seth just watched, and waited, until the colt stopped regarding the grooming kit as a potential threat.
Being careful not to make any sudden movements, Seth bent down and pulled a comb out of the kit. He let the colt get a good look at it as he inched closer. He raised his free hand to the colt’s tangled and burr filled mane. The colt's body tensed and twitched, but he stayed still as Seth slowly started working the burrs from his mane. And every time he cleared a section of mane, he used the comb to brush out the tangles.
It was a very slow going process, not because the colt wasn't being cooperative — surprisingly, he was being very cooperative — but because there were so many burrs, all bunched and tangled up to the point where the mane was mostly balls of hair and burr.
"This is probably going to take a while." He spoke to the people watching, but he kept his tone low and calm to avoid spooking the colt. "I know grooming isn't technically necessary to move him, but it's a bonding process I think he needs if we want to do this as safely as possible. But feel free to find something else to occupy yourselves in the meantime."

(I'm scared now. XD)
Parker watched the hawk for a minute more before turning his head to look at Sol. "You are not adopting another chick," he told him, amusement very obvious in his voice.
~*~*~
"No, go on and take your time," Bennett told him, being careful not to speak too loudly in turn. "He's a good horse. I got him when he was five months old. Sweet as could be. However, I had to get my brother to take care of him these last two month because I messed up my ankle, couldn't work with him like I wanted. Now I wished I hadn't. I don't know what that idiot did to him, but now he shies away from me and hates the barn. And with my job requiring me to be in town all day, I hardly get the chance to work with him for long enough to make a difference."
(You're fine, Nox! I hope you feel better soon! ^^ )
