Lisa nodded. "Peter told me what happened yesterday," she stated. "He seemed more upset than I've seen him since the accident." Her tone remained conversational, not confrontational. Whatever was going on as Hope's business, and Peter had only asked to see if Hope would be more willing to talk with her. Hope sat up as she listened closely to Lisa's words. She clenched her jaw slightly in frustration. 'How could he have told her..?' She thought to herself. After a moment, Hope took a deep breath and relaxed slightly. "He had nothing to worry about." She replied softly.

(Okay!)
Tori sat at her kitchen table, supposedly doing homework. However, it was incredibly hard to do since her mind was a million miles away. In a matter of days, Alec and her would be seated in the audience watching one of her favorite bands preform. The idea seemed so surreal that she hardly believed that they were actually going to the concert to begin with. Yet the tickets she had bought online and printed out that morning assured her that this was real. She glanced up at said tickets, which were placed on the table in front of her, and a smile spread over her face. It had been a long time since she felt this excited for anything. Well, the day Alec told her how he loved her competed for the top spot on the list, but it was very hard to choose which one was actually the best.
Her mind wandered from the English homework she was trying to complete to making a mental checklist of everything they would need. The concert was being held in the next town over, about a four hour drive from where they lived. Obviously they would need their tickets, but they would also need to pack things for the trip itself. Snacks were a must, as well as things to pass the time while they drove. She had no idea if Alec would want to drive the entire way there, or if her would want to divide the time driving between them. That would be the first thing she would ask him. The next thing would be if they planned on driving all night back home once the concert was done, or if they were going to rent a motel room for the night. They hadn't really discussed that part of the plan yet, and it was something they didn't need to wait about figuring out at the night minute. Would their parents even allow them to that? She didn't see why not, but she was still going to check on that before she made a solid plan.
"I'm sure you're more than able to hold your own," Lisa said, setting the freshly made scrambled eggs and toast onto the table as well. "But you can see why he would be worried, right? You're going to meet with someone who more or less threatened you, and he has no idea what might happen. Lately, Peter has a resentment towards things he doesn't know."

Hope kept her eyes on Lisa as she walked calmly around the kitchen. "If I tell Peter, he won't let me go. And then they will come looking for me." Hope said the words carefully. "I can't put you guys in danger."

Hope laughed softly at Lisa's question. "My parents don't even know where I am." She replied before closing her mouth quickly. Her parents were supposed to have signed the paper saying Hope could live at the Thompson's. "I guess you have a point..." Hope said softly after several moments, looking only at her hands.

Hope thought for a moment. She still didnt like the idea of putting them in any sort of danger, and she felt as if she needed this closure from her previous life. "Okay..." she finally responded.

Personally, Alec was less excited about the concert, just because music wasn't exactly his thing, certainly not the way it was Tori's. But she was so cute when she was excited that it was hard not to get more excited just by being around her. He had been at play practice while Tori was struggling with her homework and making mental checklists. Now he breezed through the door like he owned the place. "Honey, I'm home!" He smiled and pulled out a chair, sitting close to Tori, definitely getting in her personal space. "Hi, babe. What's up?" He grinned at her. "No, wait, let me guess. Fantasizing about the concert this weekend?"

(Again, sorry I took so long)
Mika frowned, still concerned. She could be like this for a while... Even if it wasn't all day, she could wake up sore and hurting for a few days before things got better. "Just try to relax and breathe slowly." He said, hoping that he could offer advice that was actually helpful. "I'll bring you a plate if you're hungry." He offered.

His greeting only made her smile widen. As many times as the boy had quoted the same line over the passed years, it never got on her nerves. Nor did the breech of personal space. She just nudged him with her shoulder and looked up at him. What gave it away? The tickets on the table, or the fact that I haven't completed at homework? she asked. Alec shook his head and chuckled quietly. "More like I just know you too well." He slung an arm across the back of her chair and leaned toward her, close enough that he could smell her shampoo and feel her arm brush his side when she breathed in. "So it's absolutely one-hundred-percent official now, huh?" he said, eyeing the tickets. "You may as well just give up on homework for the next two weeks," he joked.

"Don't be silly. Of course I want to go. It'll be fun." He smiled and drew her closer so he could kiss her. His lips were still a little cool from the outside air, but her weee deliciously warm, so he lingered a few seconds longer than necessary. "We'll get matching tshirts and tattoos and everything. I'll even wear eyeliner if you do," he joked when he finally pulled away. "But no pictures. Unless I look good with guyliner."

It was in that moment the Hope lost all composure. She lay her head down on the table, hiding her face behind her folded arms. "This was all a mistake." Her tears were falling slowly. "I shouldn't have come here and put you all in danger. I should have never made a deal with those cops. I should have never ran away from home." As the words tumbled out of her mouth her tears fell faster into her arms. She knew that she was going to have to explain everything to Lisa.

Lisa stood up and moved to sit in the chair beside the young girl. In the weeks she had known Hope, she had seen the changes in her behavior. She was no longer the rude, defiant, "could care less" girl she had been when she arrived at the hospital. The girl was now considerate, happy, and a good friend to her son. So seeing her this upset worried the woman. "It's okay," she crooned to her, placing an arm around her shoulders. "None of this was a mistake, and you know it. You're just worried too much for our sake, that's all. Why don't you tell me what's wrong and we can work together to find a way to get us all out of harm's way?"

Tori gladly returned the kiss, not phased by the chill that clung to his skin. It actually felt nice since she had been inside for the pass three hours. She laughed at his next comment. What do you think goes on at these concerts? she asked in amusement. We're going to listen to music, not go wild. Though, tempting me with the eyeliner is probably not the best thing to do. "I don't know," Augustus laughed. "A lot of rolling, jumping around, crowd surfing, ingestion of contraband?" He grinned and shrugged, reaching over and picking up Tori's pencil and doodling on her notebook. "Tread lightly with the makeup there, girlfriend. It was ninety-five percent joke, five percent curiosity. Cautious curiosity." He doodles a couple hearts and starts then started writing a random, silly lovenote around the margins of a blank page, silly things like "you are the peanut butter to my jelly" and "I always dream of you, but only during the day, because at night I dream about weird stuff like talking dogs and terrifying math problems, but I like Tori-themed daydreams better."

I can assure you that there's not going to be any of that, Tori replied, laughing despite how bad he made out the concert experience to be. There will be jumping, and maybe a crowd suffer, but I'm pretty sure nothing worse than that is going to happy. If that's the case, we don't have to stay the entire show. And don't worry, I'm not going to give you make-up. Why ruin a good thing by aiding something to it?
Smiling, she leaned her head against his shoulder as she watched him doodle. He always seemed to know exactly what to draw, even if it was mindless doodling. And the notes were even better. A laugh shook her shoulders at the last one Alec wrote, lifting her head and taking the pencil from him. If you're sure you want to go, then we should figure out what all we need to take and how we're getting there, she said.

"That's what I've been wondering for literally years," Alec insisted, "but you girls keep insisting on using makeup." He smiled when he felt her shoulders shake in a silent laugh and kissed her hair as the pencil was taken from him. "Aw, you're boring compared to my fun love notes. What all do we need? I assume we're getting there by car. Unless you've sprouted a pair of wings I don't know about?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.
