"Aww." Alec smiled and raised his hands to her cheeks. "I feel so special to merit your concern." He paused, studying her eyes, and added, "For real, though. The fact that I matter to you in any capacity kinda means everything to me." He brushed his lips gently against her cheek. "But let's got get too mushy. Homework, here we go! It'll keep the mother appeased for awhile," he whispered conspiratorially. He put his hands on his shoulders and spun her around to March from the formal living room.

"Kitchen," Alec decided. "It's almost suppertime anyway." (And this sounds like a good place to skip, unless we want Papa Jones's anger too.)

(Nah, we can summarize that. I'm up for a skip. What do we have up next?! Haha. Concert, Mrs. Sparks problems, the play, ooh, prom?! We should probably have them have an actual conversation about The Future, for sale of realistic-ness. But I'm going to bed for tonight. Good night!)

Peter was definitely going to find out more information, he just hadn't figure out how he was going to do that. Should he tell his mother about it? Would Hope feel more comfortable telling his mother about her problems? Or should he even bring it up with someone else? He felt that telling anyone else wasn't his job. This was Hope's issue after all, and he didn't have the right to give what he did know out to just anyone he choose to. Hope walked slowly up the front steps next to Peter. She assumed that he was probably getting tired and was even more worried now that he would fall. She relaxed her shoulders once they made it to the top, and she opened the front door for him.

"You'll be done with them in no time." Hope smiled at Peter, feeling at ease now that they were back at the house. She entered the house behind him and pulled the front door closed.

Mika couldn't help but concern over the flinching. He debated waking her up... Maybe once breakfast was ready, he could make a fair excuse to wake her up without calling her out since she always seemed flustered or embarrassed to have him mention her behavior. He wasn't sure what else to do so this was just the best he could go with. He fixed the blankets to cover her more completely then headed into the kitchen, starting to pull eggs from the fridge.

"Yeah, like right now," Peter said, leaning the crutches against the wall by the door. Then he stretched his back and arms for a moment. "After a while, being hunched over doesn't feel too good," he commented, letting his arms fall back to his sides and his posture relaxing.
Something startled her awake. Destiny knew the moment she was no longer asleep, though what had woken her, she didn't know. There was no shouting, no heavy footsteps making their way to her room. No, wait, she wasn't in her room. She was at Mika's apartment. Had Mika called her? Even without opening her eyes, she didn't sense anyone's gaze on her. Yet as she listened, she could hear someone in the kitchen. Had she just been woken up by the sound of the boy leaving his room?
For the next few minutes, Destiny just laid where she was. She was warm and comfortable, and there was little to no pain at the moment. The girl knew that would change whenever she decided to stand up. So, until she absolutely needed to get up, she stayed where she was, nestled up under the blankets and listening to Mika making breakfast.

Mika broke the eggs over the side of the pan and let them for a little bit before breaking the yolk and scrambling them with a spatula. He remained unaware that Destiny had woken up. He added a little salt and pepper to the eggs before they became completely solid, and let them fry until they were finished. He moved them off the pan and onto a plate before going back to the fridge. What else could he add to this? Toast might be nice... They didn't seem to have any meat like bacon or sausage... Toast it was. He pulled the toaster out from one of the lower cabinets and started setting it up.

Mika stopped, turning around when he heard Destiny make a sound. He saw her curled position and turned off the stove before walking back over to her. "What's wrong?" He asked quickly. He couldn't help but worry about this. She'd been more hurt than he realized? Did they need to get medicine, or a doctor?

"Peter...you need to be carefull." Hope hovered closer. It made her nervous that Peter had begun trying to move around without his crutches or any assistance.

"Can you at least use the crutches to get there...?" Hope smiled hopefully at Peter, still not at ease.

Hope shook her head slowly in disapproval, but waited until he reached his destination to follow him. She sat in a chair near the sofa though, not next to Peter.

Hope smiled and leaned back in the chair. She couldn't help the feeling of happiness that came over her while she was sitting there. "Peter, do you ever wonder why certain things happen when they do?" The words were out of her mouth before she could take a moment to think about them.

Hope nodded slowly. She wasn't quite sure why she had thought of that question, or where she was expecting the conversation to go. She found herself asking another question. "What have you decided then? For why you lost your memory I mean." Hope turned to face him then, sitting sideways in the chair with one leg tucked underneath her.

Hope nodded as he spoke, but didn't have anything more to say. Instead, she sat there watching him for a moment, thinking. She couldn't have said what she was thinking about, however, because her mind was jumping between a million different thoughts.

She laughed softly to herself. "Always." She turned back to face forward in the chair. "I was just thinking about how, if you hadn't gotten into an accident, I wouldn't know you." She summed up all of her thought into one sentence. Hope had always believed in some capacity that fate had a hand in everything. If she hadn't grown up the way she had, she wouldn't have become a criminal. And if Peter hadn't gotten into the accident, Hope would have never met him. And if Hope had never met Peter, she wouldn't have made such a great friend and gained hope for her future.

"You don't have to repay me for anything." Hope looked back at him and smiled honestly. "Having a true friend is payment enough."
