I have to disagree. Although I haven't seen the proper name for it, many people criticize Firestar for being the male equivalent of a Mary Sue (which I strongly disagree with but hey).
In the end, it's all subjective.

I agree that that's one of the more common stereotypes around forums, but like Sabuki said, not everyone is like that- and everyone has their own preferences- some like bratty toms and love polite she-cats, while others are other other way around. Some people like bratty cats in general and some like more polite cats in general.
I see what you're getting at- and I too have noticed that sometimes- but I think there are a lot of exceptions. I personally are more drawn to more polite characters- male or female- but right now Needlepaw is one of my favorite characters not because she is impolite, but because she is interesting and stands out.
So I think there are a lot of factors that go into liking/disliking characters, and not just whether or not they "a sue" or not, let alone whether or not they are male or female and have "sue-like" characteristics.
