Azalea pulled herself out of the warm lake's water. She stood on the damp grass, her clothes already beginning to dry. She pulled her scarlet-red hair out of its messy ponytail, the long hair falling to her waist. She walked down the familiar dirt path to the small cabin that was isolated in these desolate woods, the only life was plants and animals, no humans - or erasers. She pulled open the dark, wooden door and by the time she sunk onto the couch, her clothes, body and hair were dry. She ran her finger along the arm of the couch, making a dark burnt line next to a pair of similar lines. Three weeks since she had escaped. The 10 year old twirled a strand of hair around her finger. Three weeks since she had been around any other people. She lived here alone. Azalea spread out her left wing, it went far over the couch. She ran her hand over the primary feathers of her falcon black wings.

The sound of erasers moving about was the only thing on young Aizen mind as he hide in a tree. His eyes watched the beasts as they moved about waiting for the perfect time to escape into the air. He had just escaped himself not to long ago, as in a few hours ago. He was still trying to find out what to do. A rumor of a ten year old girl escaping was the thing that motivated the raven haired male to do the same. He was a bit older being fifthteen himself so he felt kinda weird using a ten year old as a motivator, but he had chosen to do so anyways, and now he was standing in a bushy tree. He wore a black hoodie, black shirt, and black cargo pants. Clothes that would make him harder to find. Once the beasts seemed to be a bit far away he jumped out of the tall tree, and dove head first towards the ground.
However before he broke his neck he let his wings free, and he flew into the air. He was almost free now. He loved flying now that he was free. It let his mind swore into thoughts of a future. Maybe he'd have a family, maybe he'd get a job, though all he wanted was something better than the labs. There was one thing the raven haired man did that was different. Aizen hadn't left alone. No he had brought along a girl who was stuck in a cage near his for the last month. However he couldn't find her, until he heard her scream. He quickly flew over seeing Erasers about to kill her.
In an fact of heroism he jumped down, and grabbed the leader of the beasts throwing him into a tree making the beast loosen it's grip on a pistol. The young teen picked it up, and pointed it at the eraser leader he had just attacked only to be blind sided by another one that grabbed the back of his neck, and lifted him up.
"Silly boy you can't es-" The snarl sounded, but was stopped when a loud bang went off, and it fell over dead. It had been Aizen's partner, and she was now about to target another one until it grabbed her. "Run Aizen!" She commanded as the beast lifted her up, and headbutted her. "Get out! Only one of us need escape!" She screamed as the beast got ready to kill her. Aizen moved to shoot it, but was tackled by the leader again. "RUN YOU FOOL!" She screamed again as the eraser bit her neck to kill her. Aizen watched in horror for a second before he jumped in the air to escape.
His fleeing didn't last long as he heard a loud bang, and then felt pain in his left leg. Then another bang, and pain in his right wing. The wing pain was what caused him to slow his flying, but he managed to get away. It was only because of airplane that he managed to grab hold of the wing that he was able to get far enough. However about half an hour of using the place his hand lost the strength from all the blood loss. His eyes were closing as well, and from all this he started falling. Falling down a height no one not even a bird man could survive. He fall so his face was in the air, and he could watch in a weak glance the sky. "I tried...... Monica....." He let out as he lifted his arm weakly as he fall.
However as he passed out his body slowly moved to his stomach, and his wings caught the wind weaking the fall damage. He hit a tree branch before falling again to another one. Then finally his bloodied body landed in a lake. The water made him open his eyes as the coldness was a new feeling. However he was still barely alive. The blue of the water was now a shade of red. He weakly moved his arms so he could breath, but upon reaching the surface his eyes started to close again.

Azelea stiffened on the couch as she heard a loud splash. Erasers! That was the first thing that came to her mind. How did they find her? How many were there? Would she be able to escape? Questions buzzed in her head as she got up from the couch, unconsciously making her way to a drawer where she pulled out a pocket knife and a copper colored desert eagle. She slowly made her way to the door, pushing it open slightly. She cringed at the unpleasant squeak it made and the girl peered around her wall, noticing a form in the lake. The first thing she saw was the wings, then the face and the body. She dropped the weapons with a gasp and ran over, dropping into a crouch. Azelea tenderly touched his left wing before instantly pulling her hand back. She didn't want to burn him and it seemed he was injured. The young girl got up and look around, heading to a tree. She frantically pulled an ivy tendril from the tree, making small black marked where she had touched both the plant and tree. She quickly lifted his torso, sliding the tendril under his then dropped his torso roughly, the shirt already burned slightly. She tied the tendril around his waist, careful of his wings and struggled to drag him back to her cabin which was only a couple tens of feet away. - Azelea laid him on the couch she hand been laying on not long ago, pulling the burnt ivy tendril from his body. His right wing was spread out off the couch and her hands were blanketed now with rubber gloves. A first aid box and some plants sat next to her, it was a bit of her specialty, dealing with plants and medicines. This house seemed to be filled with books on how to treat injuries and make remedies so she had made sure to know the basics incase the erasers came and she got injured. Oh, but she was terrible at cooking. She let her gaze move to the kitchen and felt herself cringe seeing the totally disarray it was in. She had simply tried to make soup the night before. Bad idea. She returned her attention to the boy who looked, maybe, fourteen? Seventeen? She pulled out a pair of tweezers and delicately pulled the bullet from his wing. She pulled out a disinfectant wipe and gently dabbed the wound before taking a gold flower and mashing it into a mush, adding a small bit of water to make a poultice. She laid the stuff on his injury and placed a bandaid over it for good measure. She had watched a tv show where they had done this for a bird. She had felt just as sorry for it.

Rosie was startled awake from her spot on a tree limb. She flailed her wings in an attempt to keep her balance so she didn't fall. A loud yawn left the 18 year old's mouth and she reached a hand up to cover it. She was still so tired. It had been nearly a week since she had escaped the Lab and a week that she had been living on her own. She had been scavenging in the forest, she had no idea what or where that forest was, eating and sleeping where she could. Her stomach rumbled, a reminder that she should soon scavenge for a meal. Her keen hearing picked up the sound of footsteps and her dark blue eyes snapped in the direction she had heard. Her body tensed in anticipation of a fight. When nothing rushed towards her, a shiver ran down her spine at the thought of Erasers, she relaxed slightly.
Deciding it was best to investigate the noise, she began flapping her silver and gray wings and lept from the branch. She kept close to the tree tops in hopes of having less of a chance of being spotted. Landing on another branch her eyes widened as she saw two other kids with wings. She hadn't thought she'd run into others like her. One appeared to have an injured wing and the other was attempting to fix it. A pang of loneliness coursed through her at the sight. She missed human contact, being around other people her age. Those chances are pretty slim. She thought bitterly to herself, shifting her weight. And if my only choices of being around others were those 'scientists' or being by myself, I would chose isolation every time.
Rosie felt a strong urge to approach these other winged kids. If she didn't act now, she would not get the chance again. Taking a deep breath, the redhead swooped down a few feet away, landing and tucking her wings to her back to make herself appear less threatening. Rubbing her pale blue long-sleeved shirt in nervousness, she took a step forward to the young girl and injured boy.
"H-Hello." She stuttered out before coughing and clearing her throat. "Hello." She tried again. "Is he going to be ok?"

Azelea looked over to the open door where an older girl stood, asking a question. "I think so," she replied, noticing the girl's wings. "Are you a friend of his?" She asked curiously. Her voice was soft and wavering since she hadn't spoken much since she escaped the lab. She hadn't thought any other avian-people had escaped beside her, so she was both happy and surprised to know there were multiple others who escaped. Her mind was buzzing with questions before she realized she was having bad manors. She got up and pulled the now hot gloves from her hands and walked over to the girl, inviting her into the small cabin.

Rosie gave a grateful smile and walked further into the house. Man, when was the last time she had been in a building that she hadn't felt threatened in? "No, I don't know him. Although it's very possible we, all of us, came from the same place." She admitted as she looked around the house. Nice place She thought to herself before looking back towards the young girl. "Hey,um, I know I just met you and everything but do you have any food I could have? Something small? I haven't eaten much today." Rosie felt her stomach growl and told it mentally to wait. "I'll of course pay you back with some food or money, once I happen to come across either But if you don't or don't want to give any, I totally respect that. "

"Oh, it's okay. We all need to eat." She said, managing a wry laugh. She walked over to the mess that was the kitchen, sticky substances hid the white table, her hand moving up to open a cabinet of unorganized cans and cereals. She pulled out canned asparagus and an Un-opened box of corn flakes and tosses them to the girl once she had gotten out of the kitchen. She wiped a spot of food-goop from her shorts, realizing she must've bumped into something in the kitchen.

"Thank you so much!" Rosie beamed, feeling her mouth water at the food before. She set the canned asparagus down onto the counter and used her free hand to open the box of corn flakes. She pulled a handful out and ate it, humming happily. Such a simple food but so good when hungry Leaning her back against the counter, Rosie grabbed another handful and munched the dry cereal. Swallowing she said "Where are my manners? I come into your house, eat your food and I don't have the decency to even ask what your name is. What's your name? I'm Rosie. And I escaped maybe a week or so ago from a lab."

"M'name's Azelea. Funny, both our names are flowers." She beamed. "I escaped three weeks ago." She said, trying to keep the memories of blood-thirsty erasers out of her mind. "Um... So..." She started, wanting to converse but unsure of what she would talk about. Feeling embarrassed, she leaned against the wall, trying to ignore the fact that she would end up leaving a burn mark by the time she pried herself off the wall. After a few embarrassed moments of mumbled words that couldn't be made out, she decided, "How old are you?"

"I'm 18. So old right?" She laughed as she grabbed another handful of cereal. The auburn haired girl sat the box onto the counter. Popping a few pieces into her mouth, she tried to think of what all to add. "So I guess we came from the same lab, although I don't remember ever seeing you or passing you by in some hall."
Rosie frowned.
"I don't remember a whole lot of my time in there honestly. The more recent instances sure, but from when I was younger I couldn't tell you much, a lot of it's foggy. As you probably know, the days sorta blur together when you're in there." A shudder ran down her back as she thought back to all the tests they liked to run on her. The ghost of needle pricks, itched across her arms. "But I can tell you one thing, I have no intentions of going back there anytime soon."
Smiling at the younger girl she said "So why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself, like how old you are and maybe how you came about this cabin?"

"Yeah, I know what you mean." She agreed, feeling slightly guilty that she remembered almost no faces that she passed during the lab. All a painful blurt of stinging, burning memories. "Um, I'm ten and, after escaping the School, I wandered the forest about a week then stumbled open this place." Azelea spoke, not really sure what else to say. She drew a finger down the wall leaving a deep burn mark and realized that she was heating up. Her body always have off a subtle warmth, but when her emotions got slightly active and out of hand, her temperature grew. A constant reminder that she was a failed experiment and that they would've kept doing more tests on her if she hadn't escaped.

A wave of sympathy coursed through Rosie at how uncomfortable Azelea seemed. She didn't blame her, the School was a horrible place and for them brought back unpleasant memories. Rosie noticed the burn marks appearing on the wall behind the young girl and wanted to how she made those there but felt it wasn't her place to ask. Glancing in the area of the door and back to Azelea she said "So I guess the Erasers attacked and hurt that boy you rescued. Do you think they're still lurking about anywhere close or went away?"

"I bet the erasers are still enjoying the thrill of their hunt, tracking him down." She forced a wry laugh and tried to pick up her mood. "I'll probably pack up some stuff and head off somewhere. With erasers lurking around it wouldn't be smart to stick around here for much longer." Azelea admitted. She pulled herself from the wall and stretched out her wings. Every once and a while she would do this, she didn't really like having them stiff and folded against her back all the time. "Black Falcon." She said, referring the the avian DNA inside her.

"Snowy owl." Rosie grinned, waving one of her silvery white wings at Azelea in a wave. "And yeah, it probably is best to be on the move if there's Erasers around. Although it really sucks, considering you found this house and all." The older fell silent, lost in thought. What would she do now? She had been roaming this forest for awhile and frankly she was getting bored of her surroundings. Her wings twitched as she thought about soaring high above the trees, the wind blowing through her feathers. Rosie was also now reluctant to leave her fellow avian kid, having grown to like her in the short time they had met. If we both traveled together, we could protect each other from the Erasers or whatever else tries to follow us. Plus I could really use some company
"Hey uh, I know I just met you and all." Rosie began, reaching a hand up to scratch nervously at her neck. "But do you think I could go with you when you leave? I've been on my own for, well, pretty much my whole life and it's nice being around another person not bent on killing me."

Azelea couldn't help the smile that danced it's way onto her face. "Company would be good." She replied, "I'd like that." She pulled her hands up in a stretch before walking toward the door, forgetting about the deep burn marks she made in the wall. "Wanna go for a fly? It always help me cool off and it'll be nice to be accompanied for once." She suggested, stretching out her black falcon wings. She tucked them in so she could fit through the entrance as she pulled the dark wooden door open.

Aizen had laid unconscious for the whole event that would take place. He had no clue the person who motivated his escape was currently taking care of his wounds. It took a while before he would awake. In fact it wasn't until awhile of the other girl appearing before the raven haired boy opened his left eye to take a gander of where he currently was. His vision was blurry, and weak at first so it took him a while of blinking before he made out the frames of the two girls he didn't know. He half expected Monica to somehow survive the attack, and was taking care of him. However that was false hope, and he soon realized he had no clue who these people where.
So being the wounded animal he was he waited for them to get distracted in their conversation, before he bit down on his lip to muster up the power to get to his feet in an attempt to book it out of this stranger's home. However up his leg reaching the ground he let out a grunt, and fall back down. His eyes moving to his leg to see the bandaged wound from the bullet. It might have been cleaned, and what not. However that wasn't gonna make it instantly feel better. However he had no intentions of sticking around with two people he didn't know so pushed himself back to his feet.
The pain wasn't instant as if the bullet was still fresh, which it was it only happened a few hours ago. His eyes went to the door, and he dragged himself to it. If he could just get outside his wings could do the rest. However upon reaching outside, and attempting to get his wings into use he soon found not only was his leg shot, but his wing as well so he wasn't gonna be able to go anywhere without help. His gaze turned back to the house for a moment before he looked around for a stick he could use as a walking stick to take the pressure off his left leg.

Azelea reached out and grabbed the boy by the arm before he got three feet out the door. "Hey, you can't just get up and leave. You'll further injure yourself and you won't stand a chance against an eraser with an injured wing." She snapped before she had time to think out her action. Her face instantly turned bright red and she pulled her hand away before she accidentally burned him with her accelerating temperature. "I- uh... Um..." She mumbled.
