Daniel bowed. "Good morning m'lady. I have come to see if you require escort to the market today." He tried to dismiss the exhaustion tugging at the back of his mind. The last thing the princesses needed was a tired guard. "Oh have any other need of my services."

Hello, I think I'm going to give this a shot. )
Sherlock was standing with his back to the door, holding a rat's tail and attempting to set it on fire. He had been awake since about midnight, his already restless sleep disturbed by the nightmare, and hadn't really wanted to try again. So he had been dashing around his small, weather-beaten hut like a madman, trying to catch rats to amuse himself. His current position indicated the results.
Ianuarius was walking towards the castle stables, his even steps showing that he had a destination in mind. His thin face had a professional look to it, as well as the usual cold serious one. Truth be told, he liked the horses a good deal more than their owners, and the prospect of going to them always made him slightly more cheerful than usual.

(hi! i only have enough time for one post but i'll be back in a couple hours :3c) Peridot allowed herself to laugh at Daniel's comment, though it was immediately stopped when Riliane stepped out of her room. "Ahem, Princess..." The advisor's voice trailed off when she heard the fading call from Komaeda past the din of the rain. He wouldn't-- Peridot hastily readjusted her parchment stack to cover up her stammer. "Yes, and apparently I need to remind you that you must first attend to your duties before you can engage in your games with Princess Flandre," she informed Riliane with a bit of sternness.

Matteo was wandering through the town in a paper boy uniform, a small bag filled with newspapers hanging at his side. The boy adjusted his hat, pausing for a moment as he looked around. HE had to find a customer to sell some paper to or he wouldn't make enough money for the day.

Ianuarius quickened his step, realising with a twinge of worry that he might be late. Some might scoff about such concern over being about two minutes late to work, but the boy took his work far too seriously to consider anything less than perfection to be acceptable. Suddenly, he found himself crashing into a young paper boy and sending them both tumbling to the ground, probably sending papers flying everywhere. The stable boy scrambled up, looking at the other boy silently, not knowing what to say.

Riliane's frown deepened, wondering how Peridot managed to find out her little scheme. Did Flandre tell her? Maybe Komaeda? Well, she would have to ask questions later since she had get out of this sticky situation. "Me? Playing games? Ridiculous," She responded haughtily, "I was busy dealing with a couple of...issues." Her eyes lit up with joy at the prospect of going to the marketplace. "I suppose I wouldn't mind going." She answered with a small smile.
(@ Super Luck I think they'll probably be patrolling the areas of the castle but idk c,: )

Matteo tumbled to the ground on his bottom, the papers going everywhere. He let out a sigh, sliding the now empty bag off his shoulders and crawled forward, gathering the papers into a pile. The paper boy glanced over at Ianuarius, trying his best to stay positive. "Sorry! You must in a hurry, mister."

"Yes." Ianuarius answered, bending and picking up a single paper, glancing at the headline. If this was a bit rude, he didn't seem to notice. "I'm sorry, though. I should have been paying more attention." He added gravely, surveying the mess around him. "You're in a hurry too."

"Y-yeah," Matteo nodded, taking the pile he had collected and shoving them back into the bag. He stared at the other person who was scanning the page. Slowly, he stood up, brushing himself off. "Could I interest you in buying a paper? It's only a dollar!" (or whatever the currency is xD)

Ianuarius didn't answer at first, as if both "yes" and "no" had tried to escape his mouth at the same time and he was now unsure which one had a better right. "Yes, all right." He agreed finally, handing over a dirt-looking piece of money and tucking the paper carefully into the pocket of his coat. He turned back to the paper boy, but didn't say anything else.

Matteo grabbed the money, examining it for a moment before looking back up at him. "thank you, mister! I appreciate it!" he said softly with a smile as he put the money in his pocket. He tilted his head to one side, leaning to the side to look past the guy. "Can I ask where you're headed to?"

Ianuarius blinked, giving Matteo a surprised look. "That title doesn't apply to me." He told him seriously. "I'm a stable boy. I was going there now, actually." He added, hearing the question. "I take care of the horses every day, except when they're needed." He tilted his head curiously. "You still have a lot of papers left. Are you having trouble?"

"It's better to be covered than not at all," Naegi remarked, sighing softly as he took the coins and gave Chamomile a nod of acknowledgement. He wasn't going to push Noctin into taking the sweet bun for free, but... he'd like it if the messenger took it just once... He was always so busy delivering messages, after all, and the baker only supposed it would be fair if he gave Noctin a free bun or two to get him through the day.
Naegi blinked in surprise when he heard the comment on his appearance, letting out a small laugh to ease his own tension. "I spent most of the night baking again," he said, tucking the money away. That was how his nights went nowadays, baking and baking and baking...
Sighing, he took another bite out of the stale bread. "I guess I just forgot to get ready today."

Matteo blinked and lowered his gaze, looking toward the ground. "I-I'm sorry...I'm just used to it..." He mumbled, then adjusted the bag, nodding slowly. "Actually, yes. You were my first customer of the day."

He glanced at Peridot with an amused smile. "That should give your advisor time to complete her updates on Kingdom business." With another quick bow, he stepped back and strode away. (If I get a chance I'll have him go to the barn, but I have to poof for a while >_< )

"It's still early." The stable boy answered after a moment, his voice sounding as if he didn't quite know what to say. "You're hungry, then?" He went on, peering at Matteo's face with interest. "It isn't surprising."

"Alright!" Riliane clasped her hands together, beaming at the knight. Before Peridot could attempt to remind the princess of her royal duties, she hurried away towards the kitchen, hoping she could sample some of the delicious dishes.

Matteo looked up at the sudden question, taking a step back. "W-what?" He asked, though he understood the question. "Well yeah I am hungry, but I'll go eat later on today when I have enough."

Ianuarius nodded, seeming to sense he should have had a touch more tact. He didn't usually talk to people who weren't directly related to his so-his work. The pale man looked at the sky suddenly, noticing that the sun seemed to have moved. "It's getting late, I have to be on time." He explained. "You can come if you want to keep talking." He added, starting off again.
