here we are c: i've pasted Ezekiel in, and my character should be up pretty soon, i have a bit of work to do before she's done so maybe an hour or so?
Ezekiel ("Z") Ben Haim // Male
One could easily call Ezekiel an attractive young man, but in a somewhat ordinary sense, since he has no real extraordinarily rare physical traits. He stands at roughly 6’2”, making him somewhat taller than the average adult male. However, he’s as thin as a rail with a lanky frame due to his fast metabolism, but he does have some modest slender muscle on his arms and abs, most notably. And, almost embarrassingly, the rest of his traits are stereotypically Hebrew. Ezekiel has wild dark brown hair that curls and frizzes into a modest, shoulder-length afro (though he often ties it back in a small bun or ponytail, since it gets in his eyes rather often). His are a light brown, almost amber hue, and his skin is tanned rather nicely due to long days in the sun. His skin is also mostly free from blemishes, but like any young adult, he’s prone to getting a spot of acne every once in a while. Overall, he projects a rather nonthreatening image, and he’s someone your mother would encourage you to take to homecoming.
Most likely, if you’ve had even a small encounter with Ezekiel, you’ll find that he’s one of the nicest people you could meet. He is known for his constant generosity and kindness, and he’ll do literally almost anything for a total stranger—there’s very little he won’t do for his family and friends. He’s got a pure heart and generally assumes the best in people, making him somewhat naïve. Ezekiel is one of those individuals that just radiates positivity and happiness, with a contagious smile and laugh; when he’s having a bad day, it’s very easy to tell, since his trademark wide smile won’t be there. He’s extremely loyal and devoted to those he cares about, but ironically, he’s a bit awkward and shy in social settings. He won’t be one to start a conversation, but will talk his head off once you engage him. He also, strangely enough, has a serious side, especially when working on a task, and won’t quit until it’s completed.
Ezekiel was born in Jersusalem, Israel (did I mention that he's bilingual in English and Hebrew?) to a single mother. The two left the country when he was about 15 years old, and has lived in the United States ever since.
Z's dress style is preppy/professional (collared shirts and sweaters mostly) and his voice is deep like. 'mmm that's nice' sorta deep

oh, your method is totally fine! it's actually a lot more efficient than just rambling on like i do.. heh whoops and don't worry about taking a while to respond. i'll take a longer time to get back to you, in general :'^) i'm a busy bee
i just remembered a couple things to add: z's dress style is preppy/professional (collared shirts and sweaters mostly) and his voice is deep like. 'mmm that's nice' sorta deep
so uh, i'm assuming you'll start us off, correct?
edit: also i think it's so cute that maya is rly short and z is rly tall, idk why i just love stuff like that <33 he'll be able to help her reach things on high shelves n stuff and he'll have to bend down for kisses

i live for efficiency, honestly. don't worry about response times, i'm sure i'll make up for it, haha.
noted. should i add it to his character on the first post or would you prefer me not to? and if you'd like me to, sure. i have a few things to finish first, but then i could absolutely type up a starter.
right? height differences are so great. so cute i just <3 cute kisses, cute hugs, cute standing next to each other, the whole thing is adorable <33

( nah, i'm going to neaten maya up a bit anyway, just reformatting a little, so it won't be a problem at all. i'll likely be by asleep then as it'll be four am my time (i sure hope i'll be asleep, i'm going to need isome sleep to get to school tomorrow) but i'll reply to you in the morning, then.
yes! i totally agree! i'm so excited for this. )
Hello dear reader,
Soon you'll realise that this did nothing but waste your time, but hopefully by then you'll have gotten to the point where you might as well finish it. I don't want to have gone to all the trouble of writing this out and finding a good spot for it for nothing. Anyway, it's nice to meet you, or whatever you'd call this interaction.
So, stranger, you're probably wondering why on earth anyone would write a letter meant for no one in particular. If you're reading this I probably even went to the trouble of putting it somewhere I knew it would get picked up. Unless you go around digging through garbage cans, in which case, that's disgusting. Go wash your hands. Well, to get back to the point, I don't know either. I was bored during class, okay? I tried keeping a journal a while back and it didn't work, even though it was fun while it lasted, so maybe this is some kind of replacement for that
Seriosly, though. This is pretty nice. Might do this more often. Start doing this more or something like that. Might be a good experience, you never know. Finally get my average life down on paper. Then I can look back on it later on in life and laugh at how stupid my problems were. Send some reassurance back in time, y'know? What do you think?
- M
P.S. To answer, just write your own letter and put it in the same place that I put this one. It'll be great. Please do answer.

edit: real quick, what city are these two in?
Dear Stranger,
It's nice to meet you too. I have to say, finding this letter from you was a pleasant surprise, and you helped to make my day just a little less mundane. At first, I thought this was a wadded up piece of garbage some inconsiderate person stuffed in a wall, but instead, I found you. We definitely should keep writing to each other; I personally find snail-mail quite quaint, and I could use someone new to talk to.
But, real quick, I have to disagree with you on a couple things. First, I highly doubt your life is average, or that your problems are stupid. Everyone's got their own problems, and one person's problems are equally as valid as another's. Second, reading this isn't a waste of my time. You might not like me for this, but I'm somewhat religious, and I believe that everything in this world happens for a reason. Ergo, I was destined to find this. Weird, huh?
Sorry if that last comment scared you, it was just a thought. Anyway, where should I begin? I might as well tell you a little about myself, since it's totally normal and okay to give out personal information to total strangers. Like you, I'm also eighteen years old, and I'm more than ready to start college. But, probably unlike you, I wasn't born in the United States. If you guess which country it was in the next letter, I'll return it with $5.
I'm very curious to get to know you, since, well, only a special type of person just leaves a letter outside, addressed to absolutely anyone. So, I would love to hear more about you, or your 'average' life, or your 'stupid' problems. If it helps, I'm very good at keeping secrets.
Until next time,
Z

( that's a good question! i hadn't thought that far, oops. i'm not sure, us geography is so far out of my bubble of knowledge. any ideas? )
Dear Z,
I'm unbelievably relieved that someone replied, thank you! I've been thinking a lot about whether whoever picked my letter up would dismiss me and then silently mock me. I'm glad you didn't. I'm not sure if fate played into it, but I'm not sure that really makes a difference to me either.
Thank you for that, but I can assure you that my life really is quite average. Except for my decision to do this, I guess, not a lot of people would, much like you said. That's fine, though, I like it that way. Average is a great stepping stone, I think.
Hmmm, things about me. You assumed that I was born in the US, and that's painfully true. I've lived in the same house for all eighteen years of my life, and even if I don't hate it, I can't wait to leave for college. I'd love to see the world someday, and that's just the first step. You said you were religious, I don't think I'd qualify exactly but I do believe that there has to be something bigger out there, whatever that may be. It's weird to tell a stranger that since I don't talk about it much, but I felt that since you'd shared your views I'd share mine.
Where were you born, if not here? Russia? The Philippines? Lichtenstein? The chances of me being right are so low, but whatever. I'm curious.
It was nice to hear from you,
-M

how about Portland, Oregon? it's a really cool hipster sorta city on the west coast, known to be usually foggy and rainy. it's a lovely place with a really cool, chill vibe
Dear M,
You're actually quite lucky, being able to live in the same place for your whole life, especially a place like America. I would love to be in the same situation you are, as boring as it may seem. Moving is beyond stressful, especially the way my mother and I did it. Oh, might as well give you an answer now: I was born in Israel. Jerusalem, to be more specific. It was just my mother and I, since my father was killed in a protest when I was very young. But, if you've seen the news at all, you know that things are quite nasty in the Middle East right now. That's why we left, or fled. There's a lot that I don't miss about home, but at the same time, I'm constantly thinking about it. Reliving memories, wondering how my friends are.. You know, come to think of it, I think I miss home more than I realize. When I first came here, I convinced myself that I didn't miss it that much, just to make the transition easier. But now that it's over.. I dunno. Anyway, enough about me. I've been going on and on too much. I would love to learn more about you. What kinds of things do you enjoy? What do you like in school?
Sorry if that's too many questions. I'm just looking forward to getting to know you.
Until next time,
Z

sure! i'll do some quick research on it to get a feel for the city and then go from there.
Dear Z,
Yes, I guess you're right. I can't imagine it'd be easy to move so far, and especially not under the circumstances you were forced to. I'm sorry you had to go through that, nobody should have to flee. Although, I am glad that you figured out that you miss Israel. I'm glad these letters were of some help to you, I love reading and writing these so I'm happy there's a point (although maybe my enjoyment is reason enough).
Please, don't apologise for writing about yourself. I find it fascinating to learn more about the stranger on the other side of the letters.
About me, yes, that's only fair, isn't it? My time-killing method of choice is watching movies, but I'm a bit of a coward so it only ends up being cheesy romcoms and the odd comedy drama. But hey, it passes the time and they're so entertaining I can't even feel guilty. As for school, the sciences have always been my stronger subjects but English and Art are so much fun. I don't know, it's a difficult question with several answers.
What about you? How do you pass the time? What about school? Do you have a lot going on at the moment?
Looking forward to hearing from you again, M

Dear M,
I really appreciate you saying that. You seem very kind, and it's been a privilege to get to know you like this. (Is it too forward if I say that I hope we'll meet some day? If it is, ignore this, sorry.) As far as school goes, I guess you could call me a nerd, since I find the STEM sorts of subjects rather interesting. I especially like Calculus and Physics, since, as Cady from "Mean Girls" says, math is the one thing that doesn't change when you go from country to country. I have plans to pursue a degree in engineering in college. I guess that sort of lead into my movie tastes. My Netflix recommendations are either really odd conspiracy theory documentaries, "Cutthroat Kitchen," or movies like "Mean Girls". My taste in movies is really all over the place. When I first moved to America, I thought the best way to understand what high school was like was to watch movies like that. And, I learned two things: 1, that "Mean Girls" is horribly inaccurate, and 2, it's so bad it's good. As far as the documentaries and cooking shows go, I just find those interesting. And, I use the cooking shows as a bit of a guide, since I like to cook. I don't mean to brag, but I can make a mean matzoh ball soup. But if that's not your thing, I my spaghetti is lit (did I use that correctly? I'm still trying to understand English slang. Help.) But outside of school, my family does have a lot going on. It's been harder and harder to keep in contact with my family back home lately, so we're worried. My mom and I are trying to stay positive, though. It'll be hard to leave her by herself when I eventually go off to college. Where do you want to go to school? What's your family like? And, do you prefer cake or pie?
Until next time,
Z

( oh my god, the math thing is so true. i moved from sweden to the uk when i was nine and the one thing i told myself when i was confused during english or something was 'at least there's no real language barrier in maths' haha. sorry, i just had to take a moment to get over that. )
Dear Z,
I try. I have to make up for my love of sarcasm somehow, don't I? Not at all, I think I'd like that. I can't help but wonder if you look like I imagine you do. It's hard to construct a person's appearance from their words alone, so probably not.
That's true - about math staying consistent. Did that help when you moved over here, knowing that things would stay mostly the same in at least one subject? And why engineering? Do you have a career path in mind?
The number of times I've watched Mean Girls is ridiculous. I swear, that movie is somehow the worst and best thing I've ever seen in equal portions. I can't help but love it.
That's an odd way to use it, but, technically it makes sense. So, you cook then? Is it more of a hobby or something you'd ever consider pursuing? I know you said you wanted a degree in engineering, but I figured I could ask.
I'm hoping to get a degree in journalism and communications, actually. I think it's a field of work that could suit me pretty well.
It's actually a pretty nice segway into my family, as the way they all approach that is very telling of their general behaviour. My dad was pretty critical, but he'd have been a critical of anything, while my brother and mom basically nodded and moved on with their lives. My brother is just out of college, so I don't blame him for his disinterest, though some kind of response would've been pretty nice, y'know?
Cake or pie? Pie. Hands down. I've never been a fan of cake (what a weirdo, I know) but I'd die for a good apple pie.
Looking forward to hear from you, M
