some dreams are wishes to come true...
introduction
"Oh? You're finally awake?" a quiet, sly voice asks out of no where. You couldn't remember anything. Where you were, who that was, anything. Your mind was blank. All that registered was that the floor was hard, cold and uneven. And there was rain. Probably a storm, due to the rolling thunder. "Well, it's about time, you know. I figured you'd wake up around this time. Considering when you blacked out and all."
What?
"I see that question forming on your lips, don't even think about talking," the voice tells you. "Your request was strange and this world, well... I quite like it. Interesting, spices things up a bit. It's nice to get some stupid fools to come down here every century or two."
You open your eyes slowly, squinting a bit. You were lying on a red rug with golden trimming. As much as you tried to think, tried to remember, nothing came to your mind. In fact, it only hurt your already pounding head. Lying on your right side, facing the outer wall, you feel a cold shiver run down your spine. This place didn't look bad, but it was not a welcome place to be. When you start to sit upwards, pushing yourself up with shaky arms, you notice a foot by your left hand.
"I suppose, I should get you all banded together, now shouldn't I?" the voice mused. You slowly look up to see a thin, but tall figure with a hand perched on one of his hips. It wasn't his hair or even abnormal eyes that made you feel a sense of cold dread run through your body. It was that smile. The wide, crescent-shaped, sharp-toothed grin. "You don't remember a thing, correct? It's all apart of the first level, adds a nice touch to make everything seems more real than the one that you lived," This Cheshire-smiled man was the source of the voice. His voice was eerie and oddly calm, like a hissing snake's voice, if they could talk. "Don't worry, you'll remember everything eventually."
Eventually. That sounded promising. But back to the task at hand, remembering things... Who was this guy? And where were you? What the time? The day? What was even your name? You couldn't even remember your own name... "For now, stand up. I have one more stop before I bring you with the rest of the group and then that'll complete the tutorial,"
"Tutorial?" the question leaves your mouth as you stand up, the room spinning around you as you do so. You hear a 'tsk' sound, presumably from the man in front of you.
"This is a game, after all, my dear," he coos in the most eerie of ways, making another shiver go down your spine. "The first of many. You wanted to spice things up a bit, right? Make them real? Well now's your chance. You got what you wanted."
You notice that he has a furry gray and electric blue tail, along with his feline bright greenish blue eyes that seem to be the type to glow in the dark. How is that even possible? You must be really out of it. He notices you staring and gives a small little chuckle leaning forward on nothing but air, lifting up his feet in the most agile and smooth way possible. Okay, now you're really seeing things. Your head must've gotten hit badly or something.
"Is there something... wrong?" he asks a little too innocently. He puts his hands up under his chin, that Cheshire Cat smile never leaving his lips. "You know, they created a character in a movie after me? Even got his name down. But a human like this would be far too... abnormal for your society. So they made me a cat."
Cheshire Cat.
A mischievous glint flashes in those feline eyes of his as the thought crosses your mind. He leans forward a little, his tail flicking in the air a bit. "Tell me, why is a raven like a writing desk?" he asks. What? This confuses you and he gives a low chuckle backing up, mid-air. His feet barely hover over the ground and his tail flicks around. He gives a wink and swishes his tail from his feet up to his head, disappearing into thin air.
"Hello? Where'd you go?" you ask, not wanting to be left in this unfriendly place, even if the company was barely any better, if even that. You hear a echoing laughter around you, making you spin, your eyes working hard to catch any sign of where he went.
"Come," you hear his whisper into your ear. "It's time to find you, the real you. A wish is a wish, a deal is a deal. Let's find your friends, hm?" You turn your head, but no one's there.
"And then we can all play a little game."
...some wishes are meant to be dreams...
about
× Hello and welcome to the House of Madness! I'm your owner and host of the thread, Twilight's Star, but feel free to call me Twi for short. I first created this role-play about... two years ago and it's been on and off through-out that time frame. I've edited it to what it is now and I'm quite proud of what I've done with this. Anyways! You're reading this to find out what this is about, reading me ramble on about this.
Finding You is a small group survival role-play. Go figure, huh? Well, listen up, little children. This isn't your typical one. You know famous vloggers and gamers on the internet? Yeah? PewDiePie, Markiplier, jacksepticeye, danisnotonfire, AmazingPhil, ect...? Those are our characters. Of course, feel free to create one original character of your own, if you'd like, but this is mostly centered on real life people.
These people came together in a old abandoned tunneling cave system in France for a new hit-show, in which these vloggers and gamers were put to the test, being down in the dark, all alone with their nightmares come to life. Of course, it's all just people in costumes and make-up, with special effects. Or, it was at first. It was a mixture of different horror games that they might've reviewed or played in the past, not everyone playing every single game thrown at them. A gaming version, much more frightening version, of Scare PewDiePie, if you're catching my drift here.
The cave system, however, isn't a normal one. This cave system is cursed by ancient times, back to when the Greeks and Romans fought and rules over these lands. When Zeus and Jupiter rules the skies, Poseidon and Neptune watched over the seas, Hades and Pluto found fortune and influenced death. It relocates itself into the world in a different place every time an unfortunate soul or souls walk into it, so that it can never be found twice. That is, if you ever get out of it. What used to be a simple robot or costume has now come to life, a simple wish of 'can't this get any scarier' being warped into a wish that you never wanted.
Attacked by one of the props, a Servant Grunt (a monster from the game Amnesia The Dark Descent) to be exact, they were sent into a panic when they realized that this thing... it was real. But as they all fled, ending up going in all different directions as the monster attacked the other cast and crew, they ended up blacking out, courtesy of yours truly, Cheshire Cat, Cheshire or Ches for short. He's centuries old, hundreds and hundreds of years passing through his life-time. He's the keeper of the Catacombs, this heckish place on Earth, appointed by the mighty Zeus, Hades and Poseidon themselves. To give everyone a fair advantage.
But Cheshire isn't always going to be there to help them. He'll always be with them, but not really to help. He's in there to watch the games unfold. They can get his help, but they must make a deal with him and usually it's only for his own amusement. Not much of help, but better than nothing. They can't always depend on him and he's not a very reliable source of guidance. They're on their own.
Of course, the gods and goddesses know this, and to be a little more fair, they've made the Catacombs have a gift system. Their human bodies are granted one special ability, unique to that person. It'll only show itself first when they are in dire need of it and their life or their group's life is on the line. Based on personality and what they've said while in the Catacombs.
The only way to go up is to complete the levels, which is to go down, which will be explained later, if you continue reading. And that's a bit about this role-play. I hope you enjoy it!
...some things aren't meant for the real world... history
× Back when the Greeks and Romans battled, there was a system that was created, a maze of death. Being ruled with injustice and unfairness, not to mention, extreme arrogance, a young general by the name of Deimos, this land was one of blood-shed and suffering. After having too much power (and the fact that he offended both their Greek and Roman sides) the gods and goddesses decided to punish Deimos for his ways. But being that he was clever, they decided to trick him.
One day, Hermes had come down from Olympus to give Deimos a 'gift' from the gods. It was a golden lamp, and within it, a immortal minor god that had done wrong, thus being cursed to live in that tiny lamp, only to be let out once a mortal rubbed its side. This creature, which is what we call a Genie, was to give three wishes to the mortal that came across the possession of this lamp. Kreon was this Genie's name. Now, Genies are not friendly nor are they happy to serve a mortal and be reduced to that. So they like to show power. Kreon was the most devilish and sneaky of all Genies, and he was one who absolutely hated young, arrogant morals who managed to get their grimy hands on his lamp.
The first wish that Deimos made was to have unlimited wealth. What he got was a bunch of books. Knowledge is wealth, and he didn't specify on how he wanted the 'wealth'. Annoyed, Deimos asked to be invisible in battle. Kreon made his hygiene so bad that not even a skunk would come near him and those who got too close while he was fighting would pass out. Finally, realizing that he had but one wish left, he wished to have anything that he wanted within his maze of death.
Kreon made this happen, and thus the Catacombs were born.
A simple, innocent thought would become true, but it'd be warped and turned into pain and sorrow, suffering and harm. The Catacombs would pick and chose, waiting for a certain thought to cross the unsuspecting target or targets, listening to the thoughts of those who entered until there was one that would end up being used against them. Those who die in the Catacombs are not allowed to leave, their souls being stuck in the maze for eternity, sometimes being turned into creature and monsters that would haunt and kill others who entered.
And so, the nightmares began and the Catacombs have existed, ever since, becoming to have a mind of its own.

As to give them a fighting chance at surviving, the Catacombs have not given the characters only special abilities (which are listed below) but also a few traits shared by everyone. They cannot be bothered by thirst nor hunger, which means dying from dehydration or hunger is not possible. Once you leave, the Catacombs, these abilities are taken away, but the illusion of them having the powers will still linger in an unhealthy fashion.

here in this maze...
the Catacombs
× Hello there. It's your friendly neighborhood Cheshire, here. You want to know more about the Catacombs, correct? Well, well, well... let me oblige you. Here in this place of horrors, my home, it takes a dark, dangerous turn with anything you may think. Be very careful for what you wish for because it might become a lot more true than you'd like. The Catacombs is a living, magical creature that shifts and warps to a dark version of every thought and wish. The only thing it can't control is yours truly. There are six levels here, seven to be exact, but I only say six because the last level can't even be considered one. It's impossible, horrible, terrible... and I can't wait to see this group get there, just when they think they got out. The looks on their faces will be priceless. I've noticed that the powers that the Catacombs have granted these humans has a bit of a cost. As their body can't fully handle the stress and the fact that it has an unlocked region in the brain, they are prone to passing out at random, fully unconscious and dead to the world. They'll wake up at random as well. The Catacombs have a natural dark and sinister feeling to it, on top of whatever horror lies within that level. For each level, there is a gate and stairway down to the next one. That doorway that leads to it requires a key. For each level they beat, the characters here will need another key. So, one key for the first level, two keys for the second level, three keys for the third and so on. After using a key, it will vanish 'mysteriously' into thin air and be placed in another spot in the next level. So they not only have to worry about surviving that level and getting through it, but finding the key to the next level. Each level, save for the very true last one, will not start out completely right away. I am to guide the characters through that game and the basics of what they are to do. I don't have to explain everything, but enough to let them have a fighting chance at survival. Once their tutorial of that level is complete, the Catacombs will sound a very loud bell three times in which to let me know that my job is done and their game is starting. Game on, players. ♥
× Level One . . . Amnesia The Dark Descent This is the first level and a heck of a one for everyone to start at. If you haven't heard of Amnesia and follow these gamers and stuff, then you must be extremely oblivious. But besides that, for those of you who do not know Amnesia, then listen up kiddies. A game based exactly around 1839, so it's not modern. A flash-light will not be found, first aid medical kit or anything like that. This game is based around hiding and puzzles, much like most of the other levels. It's a endless castle, a old, crumbling stone structure with Victorian styled rooms and hallways. Angel statues, empty suits of armor, banners, tapestries and such. There are candles and chandeliers, as well as torches, but they can be blown out and it can get somewhat dark. Not too dark to be unable to see, but dark enough to mess with your mind. Some floors are made of stone, some of wood. There is a dark wind that will blow out lights and slam doors and such. There are closets that you will need to get used to, because there are some pretty gruesome monsters that'll kill you. There's the Servant Grunt and the Brute Grunt that'll be seen in this level. And it's best you don't let them catch you. The Servant Grunt can be distracted by throwing things and breaking them while out of sight, as it'll get frightened. However, the Brute Grunt won't be intimidated and might actually come towards wherever that noise came from. Don't look at them while running, if they've spotted you as it'll make them run faster. If they attack while running, you are going in be in a lot of trouble. If it's just a curious aggressive swing, you'll be alright. For the Servant Grunt. The Brute Grunt, however, WILL kill you if you let it hit you. So don't let it catch you. You need to hide in the darkness, in rooms and most importantly, in closets. Just don't let them see you. They can break down doors and closets, so you have to beware of that. The Brute Grunt isn't as commonly seen and won't be seen until the last part, near the end of this level. Also, there will be a part of a water level in which there WILL be the invisible water monster. And it will go after you and try to kill you. Along with the Shadow, of course. But it will only be used to make you unable to go through certain areas until you complete a puzzle or unable to go in certain areas in general. You will have tinderboxes, which are matches to light up candles and torches around you in rooms and a lantern, though between the entire group, there will only be three. You need oil for it, so make sure that you have plenty of it and use it carefully. The light can make it easier for monsters to spot you, but it will also keep you sane. Yes, there' s that mechanic in the game. Along with a health potion, there's a sanity potion, but they're extremely rare. When your sanity drains too much, there's two things that might happen. The rarer thing that'll happen is that you will pass out, which makes the group stressed and very vulnerable. But the more common thing that'll happen is that your mind will snap. You see, the Catacombs are smart and it's done its research on these guys. The darker versions of these people, the snapped versions, they will exist down here. There's two sides to everyone. And once that side comes out in the Catacombs, it'll be a part of you until you leave. Take Jack for an example. His other side would be Antisepticeye. And yes, your appearance will change to fit that of the darker side when it's in control. That'll happen for everyone and it isn't just this level that it'll happen in. Once introduced that dark side won't go away. And even if you don't snap here, you'll snap eventually. While this game might be a few floors long, about... five, it's a bunch of the game bunched into a short level and you won't get to the ending really. The first floor will be the introductory faze, so only one Servant Grunt will be wandering after the game officially starts. The second floor will have three wandering around. Once a person sees a monster, they can have hallucinations of that monster chasing after them. The third floor will be the water level with two water monsters. The fourth floor will have a mixture of one water monster, three Servant Grunts and the introductory faze of the Brute Grunt. The fifth and final floor will be living heck with plenty of monsters to try and hunt you down. Just remember, you need to find that key. That bright, polished and beautiful key made of silver and gold, with the diamond on it. Yes, that's how you know that's the key. It sorta glows in the dark, so that's another helpful thing. This level will only require one key.
× Level Two . . . Vanish A highly stressful and frightening game that is equally as frightening as it is frustrating. This is the only game that doesn't have an introductory stage, though Cheshire is sure to help at least one of the characters out here. This level has one floor and one floor only. But it's a floor with a mind of its own. The door will seal after the characters once everyone has gone through and there are two high-beamed spot-light lamps by the vaulted door. There are bars keeping them safe in that little area, but there's also a spot in which they can crouch through and get to the sewer tunnel system. It's concrete and rock, like a typical sewer system without the water and such, with wires and pipes along them. It's super dark down here and difficult to see without the lights around here and, not to mention, highly stressful and frightening. The pipes are bound to burst at random with either steam or a small stream of water. The lights can suddenly burst and brake at random as well and the ceiling can randomly fall and block areas temporarily. The area is randomly generated and the tunneling system will change at random with turns and dead-ends that'll happen at random. The one thing that you have to watch out for is, as nick-named by one of the characters, the Mole people. They're blind and have long, sharp claws as well as a hunched over, bird-like body. They have amazing hearing and can be pretty fast. And they'll kill you if they get too close. The way to get out of here is to go to the water pump room and then the generator to find the glow sticks, which'll light up the way a bit better, not much, but by a bit. And then the keys. Once you find the keys (not the level keys, just the one to unlock the way to the level's end door), then you can unlock the bar door. And it's best to look for the two keys needed to pass the level. Otherwise you're stuck down here with the Mole people. After five minutes, two Mole people will have tunneled into the area. Ten minutes with three more and so on, until it's next to impossible. To avoid them, hide in the tunnels that they came through and/or stand perfectly still. Don't move. If they can't hear you, they can't attack you. But once they give chase, you need to RUN. As fast as you can away from them for a long period of time or hide in a tunnel that they came through as they can't really get into anymore due to their blindness. Just remember, you need to find those level keys. Those bright, polished and beautiful keys made of silver and gold, with the diamond on them. Yes, that's how you know that's the key. They sorta glows in the dark, so that's another helpful thing. This level will only require two keys.
× Level Three . . . The Evil Within A rather different game from the rest of them, this place is more going to be focused on the bosses rather than the Haunted. This includes basically Ruvik, Reborn Laura, the Sadist, Ruvik Dopplegangers and, most importantly, the Keeper. The level is a very open one, changing almost constantly with each place the characters will pass. The first area is an abandoned asylum. The characters will have no choice but to wander inside and be knocked unconscious by Ruvik, whom is... a different kind of character, super-natural, so to say. When they wake up, they'll all be introduced to the Sadist, being upside-down and hanging by their feet. The asylum is poorly taken care of and broken down. They the group escapes, the entire area will start to crumble and then they'll be forced to take an ambulance in which they'll all be eventually separated by a crash. The ambulance has one of the three keys in it, by the driver's petal, so look carefully. The second area is mostly a woodland area, with a cave system to go through. Instead of meeting Leslie, the characters will meet Cheshire there. This game, unlike the rest of them is both a hide and a fighting game. You have to fight to live, but can also chose to hide when you aren't strong enough to take on the bosses quite yet. However, the only weapons that are given are swords, tridents, bows and arrows (explosive, freezing, regular, shock, ect...) and a chain-saw. The Keeper's hammer can be used as a weapon, once it's killed. Which isn't this level. There isn't a boss for this level as this level is the introductory level in which Cheshire will guide everyone through. The third area is an abandoned olden town, in which a few Haunted will be wandering. The only way for the characters to get rid of them is by the traps. And, of course, the Sadist will be the boss of this area after chasing them in the first area. The second key is in the Sadist's chainsaw. He's strong, muscular and trust me, he'll make you minced meat if he catches you. The fourth area is the mysterious dungeon like area that's like a modern, gross version of Amnesia's castle, with more things trying to kill you. Here is where Reborn Laura will be fought. Remember, fire is literally the only way to kill her. Don't let her catch you unless you want your face bashed in. She's a strange creature with long, thick black hair that mostly covers her face, with four arms, two of which are used as feet, with long, sharp clawed fingers. The fifth area is the battle with the keeper in a sewer like area with very poisonous gas. You have to shut off the air system or else you will die. Oh, I should mention that the Keeper will be chasing after you? There will be locked safes with barbed wire around them scattered around the area. If he can't get at you from the area he's in, he'll just degrade his current body and pop up in your location with the safe closest to you! He's like the Sadist, only with a locked safe with bared wire around it for a head. And in one of those safe-heads of his, is a key. Good luck finding one. Which means you either have to get super lucky or kill him enough until the last safe is split open. The sixth and final area is a old fashioned wooden and stone mansion with a nice farm and field around it. This is where you have to complete the puzzle while avoiding the real Ruvik, who will kill you instantly, and his clones, which can actually be killed, but only with a explosive arrow. Ruvik's eyes are a silvery blue color and he's a thin, sharp-featured man who is heavily disfigured with various burns and scars, giving him the appearance of a walking cadaver. Seemingly unrestrained by the laws of physical reality, he is capable of teleportation, superhuman speed, and invulnerability to the majority of all physical assaults. Ruvik wears a tattered white robe that appeared to be burnt at its ends (including sleeve endings). He also wears light grey pants that show evident burns, resulting in them ending at his knees. He often keeps his head covered by the hood. Fire is literally the only thing that can kill him, like with most of the creatures in this level. Just remember, you need to find those level keys. Those bright, polished and beautiful keys made of silver and gold, with the diamond on them. Yes, that's how you know that's the key. They sorta glows in the dark, so that's another helpful thing. This level will require three keys.
× Level Four . . . Inside Inside is... well, a interesting game. Like with all of these, the areas that will be seen are random and not always connected. If you don't know the game Inside, then I highly recommend it. It's seriously awesome and some of the actual characters of this rp have made play-throughs for real, so you should watch them if you haven't yet. Ahem, anyways. The game will start out the same. Ish. I mean, they have to go into a tunnel, but they go straight in. The area is at first a forest and then it'll turn to water and whatnot. There are only a few enemies. Those of which that want to capture the characters (which will eventually kill them), the dogs (which will result in a very painful death) and the mermaid girls (which will drown whoever gets caught). Better hope you're fast and agile! You only have a maximum of two seconds to react to danger on this level and the puzzles require a lot of running and jumping as well as swinging around. There won't be that long to rest so when you're safe, take the chance to be slower with your movements and save up your energy. Because your life and the lives of others will depend on it. Also, it can be difficult and sometimes impossible to go back on yourself, so make sure that you look around for the four keys needed to unlock the gate. And yes, just so you know, one of the dogs that'll chase the characters will have a key on his collar, another key will be on a bracelet around one of the mermaid girl's wrist. The other two will have to be found by the characters themselves. Good luck! Just remember, you need to find those level keys. Those bright, polished and beautiful keys made of silver and gold, with the diamond on them. Yes, that's how you know that's the key. They sorta glows in the dark, so that's another helpful thing. This level will require four keys.
× Level Five . . . Spooky's House of Jumpscares While the first ten levels will lead you off, this game will take a very bad turn for the worse. Skipping from levels one through ten, to 910 to 1000, this will not be a very fun level. In fact, it's quite more like a nightmare. From cute and cuddly to horrible and nightmare-fuel for these poor characters. Room 910, the water aqueducts. According to the notes in the rooms, whales have been mysteriously dying to some predator, which they note from the bite marks on the whales bodies. The player finds the lantern in the rooms and unlocks a door using a code hidden in one of the notes. After shutting down the water supply, the player can enter the next rooms which are completely flooded. After finding a key and unlocking the next door, Specimen 13 appears underwater and attacks the player. This specimen can easily catch up to the player. Room 995 is the final save room/elevator. Room 1000 is the room contains the door leading to the "exit" and fight against the Boss. The keys will be strewn around the level, in random places that not even Cheshire knows. Just remember, you need to find those level keys. Those bright, polished and beautiful keys made of silver and gold, with the diamond on them. Yes, that's how you know that's the key. They sorta glows in the dark, so that's another helpful thing. This level will require five keys.
× Level Six . . . Outlast After going through the level transition area, each person will sedated and knocked out. They’ll wake up in a locked padded cell, with the phrase "Rest in Peace" written in blood on the wall. When one of them approaches the door, one of the patients unlocks the door for him and quickly leaves. There is a ebony key hidden to unlock each cell, a different key for each cell. After everyone leaves the cells, the group will encounter The Twins, mysterious Variants, standing on the other side of the prison balcony behind iron bars. They discuss the idea of killing the groups and taking random body parts, like the tongue and liver, but decide not to do so yet, believing it to be impolite towards Father Martin, who told them not to touch them. They’ll then proceeds to the lower level of the Prison Block and pass through a crack in the wall in one of the cells to reach the other side of the prison's balcony. They’ll traverse a ledge and proceeds through the decontamination chamber, following the blood towards the exit. Upon reaching the upper level (Block A), the group will encounter a Variant, and the bloody message "Down the drain" on the walls is repeated, this time with an arrow pointing towards a hole in the floor. After dropping down the hole, they will be required to find a switch for an airlock. A control room at the end of the hallway is guarded by an armed Variant; the player must outmaneuver him and activate the airlock. Once they go back, the group will encounter the twins - again, behind iron bars - and will have to traverse a window ledge to get to the other side. As soon as they emerge, however, the twins will vanish. After passing through a destroyed airlock, one of the group members will find a keycard lying on the floor, which they can use to access the showers; however, they will be ambushed by the twins, who manage to trap at least four of the group in a narrow corridor. This forces these trapped members to use the smashed window to evade them. After reaching the security control for the fourth airlock, Chris Walker will appear from the other side and smash his way through reinforced glass, causing the airlock to malfunction and burst into flame. An air vent then opens, allowing everyone to escape through the air duct. Chris will try to follow by bursting through a door, and will subsequently give chase to the group. While attempting to run past the fire, an explosion occurs, blasting everyone into the lower floor of the Prison Block and onto a pile of body parts. Walker will follow soon after; this forces the group to evade him and find an alternate path to the showers. Everyone within the group will leave the block after climbing up through the cell area, eventually reaching the Sewer through a hole in the shower room. Immediately afterward entering the Sewer, they’ll go through several chambers, enter a pipe, and see The Walrider for the first time in-person. As they explore the sewers, everyone within the group will squeeze through two sections of wood supports and enters an area that includes a map detailing the layout of that region of the sewers. As they walk into the room, Chris Walker jumps down and starts searching for them, making it harder for them to look for and activate the valves. After turning the valves, they’ll return to the ladder and climb down to the lower junction. As they move throughout the region, they find Father Martin singing on the other side of a pile of rocks, not knowing that the group is there. The group will then enter a room and find a Variant, who informs them that Dr. Wernicke is dead. At least two people of the group will go down a ladder in the room, and then into an area where bodies are being dumped. After walking through many tight drains, passageways, and broken catwalks, they’ll find a large flooded area where they encounter Chris again. They’ll all then finds a broken ladder, go up a small staircase that leads to another broken catwalk, and climb up the ladder. They’ll go down a corridor that contains an armed Variant, who yells, "Get back!". They can back up, resulting in the Variant striking once and then returning to his point of origin. The group will down the hall and through another bloody waterway, and finds a staircase leading up to the Male Ward, which will be the end of the Catacombs’ version of Outlast. [outlast wiki description due to my laziness] Just remember, you need to find those level keys. Those bright, polished and beautiful keys made of silver and gold, with the diamond on them. Yes, that's how you know that's the key. They sorta glows in the dark, so that's another helpful thing. This level will require six keys.
× Level Seven . . . ??? This is the final level that not even Cheshire fully knows what will be in it. He doesn't consider it a level because it's unknown and a very harsh and nearly impossible game to beat. Why, you should ask? Because it's levels one through six combined into one marsh-up horror map for these characters. It's gonna have the Keeper, Servant Grunt, Variants, Chris Walker, Mermaids, hunting dogs, Mole people and Specimen 13 all in this, some enemies being a combination of them all into one thing. Such as a Mole person, Keeper and Servant Grunt for one of the mini-bosses. Ruvik will be one of the main bosses, and so will a Brute Grunt and Chris Walker. Those three will have two keys around their necks that will be needed to get out. One trick though. There are 28 keys that can be picked up. But only 7 will work to get them out. So find them all or hope to get lucky, because those keys will always be changing location. This is Amnesia, so their memories will be foggy. This is Vanish, so the landscape is always changing. This is the Evil Within, so there is a fighting mechanic with random environments. This is Inside, so you always have something chasing after you. This is Spooky's House of Jumpscares, so you have multiple different areas you need to go through. This is Outlast, where it's so dark that you'll only be able to see certain areas will night-vision on a camera or cell phone. This level will have 28 keys, but only 7 of them will work. 3 will be found around the main bosses' necks. 1 will be found in a box. 3 will be randomly generated around the area.
Good luck. Because whatever happens if you manage to complete this, is unknown.
...you learn many things...

how to stay alive is vital knowledge...
characters
× Cheshire Cat × +1000 years – male – immortal being ⌈ Cheshire is a tall individual standing at 6'5" tall, who is far from being fully human. He has very pale, almost grayish skin with lighter stripe marks across his entire body, matching his tail, ears and tail. Yes, he has gray cat ears and tail, with electric blue colored tabby stripe markings along not only his fur but his hair on his head as well. His hair is also the same stormy gray with the electric blue stripes, which tend to somewhat glow in the dark. His eyes are a bright green-blue color that are feline with slited pupils. Ches's teeth are also super sharp and he has retractable clear feline claws that he doesn't show often. His voice is sooth and mysterious, often a bit creepy at times. He can transform into anyone he wants, though he cannot portray their voice as efficiently, unless he hangs around them long enough. Ches has only done this a few times when he has made a few deals with those in the Catacombs, to give them some time to escape and pass the level. He can fully transform into a small cat or saber-toothed tiger with the same voice and abilities as well as looks as his human-ish one. ⌋ ⌊ Ches wears a gray hoodie that's the same color as his hair with similar electric blue tabby stripes, the inside of the hood as well as his front pocket having fur in it. His pants are black and merge into dark gray leather boots with electric blue laces and soles. The soles of his boots leave behind large cat paw prints. ⌉ ⌈ This feline human is where the character who's named after him from Alice in Wonderland came from. He's not entirely with you, nor against you and mostly does things for his own pleasure and amusement. He has advanced healing abilities as well as can find things without a problem in any environment. He's smart and sarcastic, often speaking in riddles or being purposely confusing. He can materialize anything that he could really want. It's best not to get on his bad side, which is next to impossible to do. ⌋ × Ches, Chesh × other × [ ѕρσттεdѕнιммεя ]
× Cryaotic "Cry" × twenty-seven – male – ice – Cryaotic/ChaoticMonki – MadCry ⌈ From what you can see of this male, his skin is white, not very pale but enough to show that he stays inside for the most part. Of what you can see of his hair, it's black in color and falls probably below his ears. You can't really see a lot of him, he keeps it that way for a reason. Cry is about 5'10 ⌋ ⌊ Cry's normal attire is a green hoodie, pulled up over his head to his his hair and most of his face, a pair of jeans, probably blue or black, and a pair of converse probably. Though, in the Catacombs, he was gifted with a mask. A solid white, circular mask, that covers his entire face, and has the little 'sup guy' face on the front. He can still see through the mask, as if it weren't there at all. Thanks Catacombs. ⌉ ⌈ MadCry is exactly like you'd think, Mad. Mad is personified by a bloody mask with the mouth of the mask opened, revealing sharp "teeth". Other than that, the only thing that really changes is his personality. Which is wild. ⌋ 〈 creepypasta reading and gameplay videos 〉 × Cry × He will not take the mask off. Ever. And if it breaks, another one appears and fixes it. The Catacombs care. × [ genji ]
× Felix Kjellberg × twenty-six – male – electricity – PewDiePie – Lucius ⌈ Standing at 5'11" is the world's most known internet star. I mean, who doesn't know the name 'PewDiePie'? Oh, you, Timmy? Timmy. Timmy. Come on. Even if you live under a rock, you've have heard of this Swedish guy. He has styled blonde hair and pretty nice looking blue eyes, standard for a Swede. He has a scruffy jaw line and upper lip, the start of his beard and mustache that he has somewhat recently gotten rid of. He also has about... four tattoos, two on each arm. Don't quote me, that's just what I have seen so far. Also, he has pale skin. Not nearly as pale as Dan or Phil, but... pale skin, nonetheless. He also has a pair of black glasses, though he's wearing his contacts currently. ⌋ ⌊ Felix is wearing a soft white beanie with a black tee shirt, his glasses hanging on the collar, with a light denim jacket over it. He has on light gray skinny jeans and black high tops with white laces and soles. ⌉ ⌈ Lucius, named after a character in a game Felix has played in the past, has blood red iris', with slited black pupils. He has sharp upper canines and black, sharp finger-nails. Nothing much besides the eye color is really noticeable between Felix and Lucius, besides the fact that, as a typical standard, his voice is a bit lower and he seems almost a bit... way more egoistic, and not comically. Also, his blood turns black when Lucius is in control. ⌋ 〈 really. do you need to ask what PewDiePie is known for on the internet? gaming and... now more like vlogging? 〉 × poods, pewds, fe . luci (dark side only) × lucius is literally the strongest of them and you don't want to see what he can do when he's angry. you've been warned. × [ ѕρσттεdѕнιммεя ]
× Mark Fischbach × twenty-seven – male – mind – Markiplier – Darkiplier ⌈ Mark is kinda short, standing at 5'10, but he doesn't let that stop him from anything. He's worked out in the past, and his biceps are at least the size of a cantaloupe, and he's not afraid to svckerpunch a monster in the face. His skin is soft, golden brown, and is only covered at his jaw by dark brown, almost black, scruff. His hair is normally the same color as his scruff, but the top of it has been died a bright, flaming red, and cannot be tamed. He usually wears glasses. ⌋ ⌊ In this specific instance, Mark is wearing a tight black hoodie, with red strings, pulled over one of his own shirts, the charity King of the Squirrels one, along with a pair of blue jeans and normal sneakers. And his glasses. ⌉ ⌈ Darkiplier is a spitting image of Mark, except instead of soft, warm brown eyes, he's got solid, jet black eyes, with a single shine of white that acts like a pupil. His teeth are slightly sharper, as well, and his ears are slightly more pointed. Like an elf, kinda. ⌋ 〈 mostly horror gameplay, such as a specific horror game that cannot be mentioned, as well as a variety of other games. 〉 × markimoo, bumbum × Everyone Loves Markiplier × [ genji ]
× Nathan Smith × twenty-seven – male – sound – NateWantsToBattle – Natemare ⌈ Nate is a pale guy at average height with short black hair. His bangs are often styled being in a fringe to the right side of his face. He has black gauges in his ears at probably around a zero or double zero size. He has bad eyesight so he has black glasses but it's common to see him with only contacts. ⌋ ⌊ Nate, while in the Catacombs, is wearing a green tee shirt with a high-collared black jacket over it, blank pants and black combat boots. Along with his glasses in a case in his pocket, he has his contact stuff with him. ⌉ ⌈ When his alternate self, Natemare, shows himself, his voice is a heck of a lot darker and creepier, with his eyes going completely black with white pupils, black circles surrounding his eyes like he got punched in the eyes. He has black stains running form his eyes down to his jaw-line and abnormally sharp canines. ⌋ 〈 he's a singer as well as gamer on the internet, and vlogs a bit here and there 〉 × nate, nathan sharp . night (dark side only) × other × [ anonymousotp ]
× Seán McLoughlin × twenty-six – male – speed – jacksepticeye – antisepticeye ⌈ Jack, is a 5'9", nearly 5'10" tall guy with sort of dull chocolate brown hair that's been dyed a bright almost neon green color. His hair is cut short, all except at the top of his head and his bangs are somewhat long, being able to reach his eyes often swept to the side. He has lightly tanned, somewhat pale skin and bright blue eyes as well as an Irish accent, as he's Irish, after all. He also has a bit of a scruffy jaw and upper lip, having a slight goatee. He does have a bit of bad eyesight, so he wears glasses, but I believe he might also wear contacts as well, for certain occasions like recording. ⌋ ⌊ While down in the Catacombs, Jack will be seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with black seams and sleeves and his typical bright royal blue hoodie with the white strings. He'll wear black skinny jeans and black high-tops with neon green glow-in-the-dark soles. And, of course, a few bracelets. He'll also wear black-studded ear-rings. ⌉ ⌈ Anti himself doesn't have that much of a voice change, though it might be a bit lower than Jack's. As Anti, his Irish accent is slightly thicker and he develops fangs as well as a snake-like, long tongue. His right eye will be completely black with a white pupil and his left eye will be black as well, though the iris will be a bright neon green color that'll literally glow in the dark. He will also develop claws and pointed ear-tips if he's taken on a full, harsh control of Jack. ⌋ 〈 he's a very popular gamer who specializes in literally any kind of game 〉 × jack, jackaboy, booper dooper . anti (dark side only) × other × [ ѕρσттεdѕнιммεя ] ...do you have it in you...?

s t a r t e r :
"Ah, look. There's... hmm... twelve left alive?" a eerie voice asked out loud, a gray and blue-furred tail swishing in the air. Bright green-blue feline eyes looked down at the layout of the area, like a 3D map being laid out in pitch blackness. A video-game developer's view of a game, so to say. "That's less than half of all who came down here in the beginning."
"There can only be twelve players," another voice stated, the voice like the earth itself, with no specific gender or age being bound to it. It was like just a voice that was there, nothing to recognize about it, and yet, it was a voice you'd never forget. "These are the most likely to survive."
"Oh, ho-ho-ho, don't you say?" the eerie, smooth male voice stated in an amused, chuckling manner. There was a bright, large sharp-toothed grin in the dark blackness that surrounded the area. "Players, is it? A video game, so to say? My, my... how peculiar." The gray and blue tail swished in the dark again, the blue stripes making a faint glow, much like the feline eyes that were looking over the layout. "And... what about this last level? I can't see it very well."
"It is a Final Level."
"Is that so?" The pair of feline eyes looked over to the right, the crescent moon grin almost seeming to widen even more. "A level that even I, perhaps, cannot see?"
"It is a level that cannot be seen or known. It has a mind of It's own."
"Yes, yes, of course, of course," the eerie voice mused, his voice giving a slight drawl and even hiss with it. He wasn't being unfriendly, of course. The feline eyes focused back on the first level, the one of the Victorian castle ages, where there were eleven living bodies strewn across the first floor. "One's soon to wake up. He seems... different. Not the male we see on the outside but..." There was a soft sound of two hands clapping together, being muffled by the pitch blanket of darkness. "What fun he will be to follow!"
"You're to give them a Tutorial."
"Hmmm? Their fate rests in my hands?" There was a moment of silence and then a dark, eerie chuckle. "Well, I suppose it's been a while since I've had but a small interaction. I'll show them the ropes."
Silence responded to the eerie feline voice. The owner of that voice gave a soft chuckle, the tail giving a swish forwards and upwards, the tail, smile and eyes all but disappearing into the air.
"Sounds like fun. I'll do it," the voice spoke. "I like that mask, you gave him. If, say, he dies. Could I, perhaps, keep him?"
"These are yours to do with as you please."
The owner of the feline voice didn't expect an answer, so there was a surprised chuckle for a moment. There, on the first floor of the first level, appeared the feline eyes and crescent moon smile of sharp, piercing teeth. A head followed, a feline-formed, but human head as well as body. This feline-like human-formed creature floated down, his boots touching the floor in a silent manner. "Oh?" The cat ears on the top of his head flicked and his feline eyes focused down on the slumbering body at his feet. He crouched down, keenly peering at the figure who had on the white circular mask. "Cryaotic, isn't it?" he asked out loud, tilting his head. "I see you've already taken favor to him."
Cheshire reached forward and pulled up the man's green hood. On his left pointer finger, a clear claw appeared. He traced around the side of the mask with the hood, sealing the two together to help conceal his identity. "And so have I." The feline-like male stood back up, putting his arms behind his back, arching it and stretching a bit before disappearing in mid-air and going to another area of the large castle. Giving a small sigh, he leaned forward, propping his head up with his arms, laying in the air on his stomach, his tail flicking around lazily. "It'd be best if you woke him soon, you know. The others can't be kept sleeping that long. And I have a job to do, after all."
The grin on his face widened as he let his tail fall to the ground, the tip swishing in front of the man's face, whom was laying on the ground. If he was correct, this would tickle him just enough to wake him up. Which would be just enough to let those blue eyes flicker open to see the world around him. Which was exactly what happened.
"Edgar, get off my- . . ." the Swedish accented man stopped as his vision focused on the world around him. Cheshire grinned even more, tilting his head at an impossible angle. "Where. . . am I?"
"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty." Cheshire purred.

The feeling of a claw around his face was what jolted him awake, his eyes blinking open and being met with a blurry view shadowed in grey. He blinked a few more times, and the grey slowly faded into normal colors, the blurriness also fading as he woke up a bit more, beginning to take in his surroundings. He was alone, for the moment, but he heard voices coming from a few rooms away, and figured that once he decided to stop being lazy, he would get up and go to them. The masked figure stretched his arms up, feeling his back pop and letting out a groan of relief, before taking a moment to look around, observing the room he seemed to be laying it. It wasn’t as dark as he originally had thought, with a few torches scattering the walls, but even then they weren’t the brightest, so there was many of them lining the wall. There was an open door that he assumed the clawed creature that touched him had come through, so after getting to his feet, he wandered towards it. He wasn’t even paying attention to himself, he could feel the hood on his head and something over his face and that’s literally all that mattered to him. Exiting the room he’d awoken in, Cry wandered down a hall, hands stuffed in his hoodie pocket, and headed to where he’d heard voices coming from, keeping his ears open for any other sounds while he went. Peering around another open doorway and into a room, Cry narrowed his eyes behind the mask and tried to see if he could recognize either of the figures he saw laying in the room. One of them had… a cat tail? And the other had blond hair, and upon more squinting and a closer look, Cry realized he recognized that blond hair and the obnoxious Swedish voice to follow.
“Poods!”
---
Meanwhile, in another part of the castle, not too far off from where Cry and Felix had woken up, another set of bodies were laying. One of them, a kind of muscular man with red tipped black hair, was slowly beginning to wake up, probably due to what sounded like rain outside. His eyes blinked open slowly, and he groaned from where he lay, not moving except for a slight roll over. He did not want to get up, but he was laying on hard, cold ground, and that was less than ideal, so he suffered and manage to sit up, his head pounding painfully.
His eyes managed to stay closed for another few minutes while he just leaned against the wall, feeling more exhausted than ever when he hadn’t even done anything yet, not that he knew of. The room was also mostly dark, so it was the perfect atmosphere for going back to sleep and that’s exactly what the red haired man wanted to do, but with the thunder outside, that was going to be virtually impossible. It’s like wherever he was just wanted him to wake up already.
Actually opening his eyes this time, he saw that he was in the back of a very dimly torch-lit room, near the corner, so he had a nice view of the entire room, except that there was a few too many crates for him to look over to be able to see every inch. There was a desk off to one side, and a wardrobe near the, thankfully closed, door opposite him. Mark squinted a bit as his horrible eyesight adjusted to the darkness of the room, and he felt around him for his glasses, thankfully finding them and picking them up to put them on. That helped the room become a lot clearer, and he was about to stand up when he heard a noise, and that immediately made him catch his breath and press back against the wall, eyes widening. He hadn’t realized he wasn’t alone in the room, and he did not want to see what else was in here with him.
Mark shifted just enough to be able to kneel and look over one of the crates but still be able to crouch back down if something dangerous was in the room with him, and that’s exactly what he did. He sat up and slowly peeked over the edge of the crate, spotting another body, probably asleep like he was, across the room, and he stayed ducked down enough so he wouldn’t get caught, but narrowed his eyes as he tried to figure out who it was. Or what it was. But it looked human, so he was assuming it was another person.
He just barely recognized the pale green hair in his still-sleepy, half-frightened state, but when he did, he let out an immediate sigh of relief, slouching back down onto the crate and closing his eyes. Thank god it was someone he knew. Thank. God.

"Who the f-" Felix began to ask, squinting up at the feline-like male who was . . . floating in the air? Laying in the air? Last he knew, normal people didn't have cat tails or ears. Nor did they float in mid-air. But there was a snap of fingers and a purring laughter as Cheshire rolled onto his back, looking at the Swede upside down.
"Personally, I'm not a fan of swearing. I'll take those words from you," the male being hummed, a light of amusement in his blue-green eyes. He gave a signature grin with a small wink. His feline eyes darted over to the side at the sound of someone approaching, which made Felix look over, the questions that were building up disappearing and being replaced a bit by fear. This place was not friendly, that much he had gathered when he woke up. He had no idea who this cat-boy was and he had a feeling he shouldn't trust him. Especially with that creepy-as-heck smile. "How about. . . each swear word is replaced with a random word in another language? Hmm, sounds like fun, doesn't it? Let's do it." Oh yeah, just do that to the number one YouTuber who was well known for swearing at games that scared or angered him. The blonde didn't like that cat. "By the way, this place can take your life. It's a video game, but in real life. You know . . . there are keys that you need to find in each level . . ."
There was movement to Felix's left, making him flinch a little as someone appeared at the doorway. He crawled back a bit until his blue eyes focused on the person there. Green hoodie, white mask . . . they seemed familiar, somehow. There was something uneasy about that mask, but at the same time, it was something that he felt was . . . familiar. There was a confused look that crossed his face when the individual said the word "Poods". What did that mean? Was it a name? That word felt extremely familiar, but he couldn't place where it was from . . . in fact . . . he couldn't really remember anything. Any previous thoughts that he had confused him and they were fuzzy, almost disappearing as soon as he thought them, leaving him even more confused. He grabbed a rock by his hand and jumped to his feet, looking at the masked figure with an uneasy, startled look in his blue eyes.
"Who the höna are you? What are you? I-I got a rock and I know how to use her!" Felix suddenly stopped and straightened up his posture, blinking once and looking at the white-masked individual. "Wait . . . you . . . ? You're . . . wait, I know you . . ." There was a moment of silence before the fear and uneasy look left his eyes, a small weight leaving his chest as the name linked with the mask. "Cry!" He dropped the rock. "So . . . we'll just forget that I ever mistook you as a monster. . ." There was a haunting, echoing laugh that reminded the Swede that the floating feline dude was still there, flicking his tail with a entertained look on his face.
"Now that you both are together to give aid, A promise is to be kept that I have made. There's a key with each level you find, One per the number of the floor you're on and the ones you left behind. For now, there's only one, a bright glistering gold. And so, this interesting tale is to unfold . . ."
The rhyming words only confused Felix more. Questions left his mouth on where they were, who was with them, what happened, why did this place seem so hauntingly familiar and frightening, what was his name, why did he have attributes of a cat, why was he floating, what the duck was going on. Where they alone here? Where they with someone else? What was the threat? What did he mean by a key? But Cheshire only blinked and looked at the Swede with that grin of his before swiping his tail over his body and disappeared into thin air, leaving them seemingly alone. He turned to look back at Cry. "Well that was helpful, the bánh quy." There was a look of confusion as he realized he just spoke a word? Two words? That he had no idea what they meant. Oh god, he wanted to slap that cat-guy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The world was cold and damp when he came to. The floor under his rear end was far from comfortable and seemed to literally sap the warmth right out from under him. It was uneven and uncomfortable, to say the least, making Jack believe that he was sitting on maybe rocks or trampled earthy ground. There was a echoy sound of water dripping down into a small puddle nearby, as well as the scattered pitter patter of small claws and feet on the ground . . . wait, what?! Alarm went through the bright blue eyes of the Irish adult as he realized he could've swore he was hearing rats run around him. However, the sudden jolt of movement caused a wave of dizziness to wash over him and he nearly fell over, even while being slumped against the wall. His head was pounding and his legs felt like jelly, like he had been running for a heck of a long time. A faint sound of someone snapping his fingers reached his ears and he looked around the slightly fuzzy room, trying to get his surroundings.
He was in a small little area, with a shelf to his right. It was extremely dark and hard to see down his right, past the shelf. There were a few painting canvases around him, a very small few stone steps to his left, as well as a brightened hallway. And was that . . . a wardrobe that was knocked down? There was a familiar feel to this room, the sinister, dark air to the place that he found himself waking up in. Squinting his eyes and daring to lean forward slowly, his vision focused upon . . . someone else. That red floofy hair, signature glasses, strong build . . . well, Jack might not remember a lot, but he did remember at least one person. And there was only one person with a floof like that. "Mark . . . ? Is that you?" he asked, his voice having a watered down Irish accent. So he was Irish? Yeah . . . he was Irish. And Mark was American, right?
Dark shapes began to dance around the Irish YouTuber's vision, distorting and rampaging his vision like it was some picture on photoshop that was being messed with the watering tool too much. He rubbed his eyes, wincing as the pounding in his head grew more painful as he tried to remember, the gnawing and pitter patter of rats around him becoming louder. It almost sounded like they were gnawing on his skull. It sickened him. Jack gave a small groan and leaned against the shelf, hearing the wood creak and groan against his weight, closing his eyes and squeezing them shut, wincing a bit. What was his name? He had two named that he went by, right? His real name, personal name, and the name that everyone called him by. But . . . he couldn't remember them.
A moment passed, and from feeling too sick to try to bother, Jack peeked open an eye at the lighter hallway to his left, almost feeling attracted to the light like a moth to a lantern. The sounds dulled from his hearing, the pain becoming less intense in his head as his blue eyes focused on the lightened area. Maybe . . . the darkness wasn't a good area to be in.
"You're absolutely right," a echoy, eerie male voice purred. In front of him, at the doorway, appeared a gray and blue haired man with . . . cat eyes, ears and tail, along with the most unsettling smile to ever exist. Where the fricker frack did he come from? And how did he-? "The darkness isn't good for you. It'll make you go simply . . ." he trailed off and looked down at Mark and then back at Jack, grinning even more before laughing in a very creepy, unsettling way. ". . . mad!"
Jack stared for a moment, wondering if what he was seeing was real or if he actually was just losing it. Not even five minutes into waking up . . . wherever they wear, and he was already losing his mind and probably hallucinating talking human-cat people who floated in the air. There was another eeire laugh from the other male creature at the door way and he leaned forward, kicking his legs into the air and swished his tail lightly. "After all, we're all mad here. I'm mad, you're mad . . . I mean, if you weren't, then how else would you be here? And if you're not, then who's to say you won't be? Tick tock, tick tock, Jack, Mark. You aren't alone." Cheshire broke off with an unsettling chuckle and his body began to disappear. "Curious, I would quite wonder how long it'll take before you realize your mind isn't just one by itself."
And then he was gone.
What did that mean? And why did he say another word when he went to swear? What was this place? There was an unsettling feeling, like he had been here before. Not directly in person, but . . . close enough to know the experience of the place first hand. It was nerve-wracking. And to make matters worse, there was the possibility that they weren't alone. That it wasn't just Mark. And the way that this place felt . . . anyone that they might meet, there was a high chance that it was not going to be in a friendly manner. He looked over at the red-haired American and slowly got up. "I think . . . we should get in a lighter place. The darkness is messin' with my head."
