One thing I’ve always felt is that the some of main characters tend to lose their personality between arcs. On one hand, I get it since we’re not in their head anymore and are instead viewing them from a new, younger character’s POV. But it’s always made me a little sad.
I’m on Midnight now, and Firestar and Cinderpelt feel so different. Firestar feels like he’s in a world of his own that no one can touch, and Cinderpelt feels like the typical “mature mentor” character. It also feels out of character to me that both of them would jump to such an extreme conclusion about Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw with little to no thought when neither of them had done anything wrong. Squirrelpaw’s a brat, but so was Sandstorm at that age.
I’ve felt like this in the past with the other former main characters, but I can’t remember enough to know if that opinion still holds up. So far, it seems to. I guess it’s inevitable though.

To me Jayfeather is one of the few characters whose personalities has held up. But then again, he was one of the only main characters with a recongizable personality. Squirrelflight kept her annoying personality until recently when it magically disappeared when she became leader.
Like, almost every mc if I read their lines without their dialogue tag there would be no way I would know it's them.
