Hello, I would consider myself relatively mature. I’m not that mature, but I have seen some things which sadly can make a person more mature than they really should be… :/

It really depends on the situation because kinda like what Rain said. I've been through things that really messed me up.
The way I have articulated myself and given advice I've been called mature or an old soul long before I was even close to an adult. I can handle crises with a more level head than a majority of people period when needed to. I remember being told as early as like 6 that I was wise for my age after showing an amount of empathy for one of my grandparent's friends at his wife's funeral because I had gone up to him directly to talk. Or from the time I had access to the internet most people assuming I was like an older teen rather than like 11.
But, I was just pretty hyperlexic and already reading and writing well past my age group and I was never shy.
I don't feel any of it for myself. I have a frightened kitten of an inner child and triggers or stimuli will make me age regress. In the trauma way not the creepy way. Its not even something I choose to do and I can even lose periods of time and I suddenly feel like life is impossible again and I need an adult. But no one is going to be there for a nearly-26 year old baby. My age requires that I grow up and its more lonely than anything.

I'm stuck in a place of being very immature in some areas and very mature in others.

I suppose so, for my age. I wouldn't say I'm wildly above what is normal, but I did feel a bit ahead of the curve compared to my peers during college in terms of priorities and managing responsibility. The difference is starting to level out now in my mid-20s and is not as noticeable. Granted, comparison is relative to how mature my social circle is, so I don't know how that would measure up for the "average" peerage.
At least part of it is probably being the youngest child. When you see your four older siblings screw up with various things, you kinda notice and make mental notes not to make the same mistakes; it can give us a leg-up.

i don't know. there's different measures of maturity and i'd say i'm doing well on some of them but very poorly on others.

Dude I feel that rip. I was severely mentally ill (still am but medicated) and did/said awful things before I got meds and therapy Same for me. Ditto. I did and said some horrible things because of how depressed and irritable I got. Depression sucks, esp when it becomes treatment-resistant and you have to find new treatment for it. My therapists always told me that I wasn’t a horrible person for that, that I could learn from my mistakes and be a better person. Believing that can be hard though.
