it is true. memorizing is impossible I think. you gotta do it the periodic table + reactivity way at least that's how I learned it and it really helped remembering all the functional groups and how they work
I love orgo tho <3 I'm kinda sad I only had to take three semesters of it, and even then they hardly went into any depth with it

I had to take it twice because I dropped it the first time thinking I was gonna fail…and then I had to take it to actually meet the requirements of my degree. My final grade basically was the deciding factor if I was gonna graduate at the end of that semester or not lol.
First time I took it I had the “good” and “nice” professor…yeah she was full of it. I went to her office hours once asking for help and she didn’t offer any and just shooed me out the door because “I wasn’t doing the homework” like lady I was trying to do the homework but I wasn’t understanding it. Why else would I be going to your office hours?! EDIT: My brain at 1am forgot I had that professor for OChem1 not ochem2
