warriorcats.com/content/article/scariest-warrior-cats-booksI'm feeling like they could've held onto this article until the actual scary season (Halloween) but since they've already made a few book lists for the Warriors series, I do get the sentiment behind this. Official Website Ranking: 1 - Moonrise2 - A Dangerous Path3 - Lost Stars4 - The Place of No Stars5 - Darkness WithinI personally don't agree with Moonrise being in first place but do agree with a lot of the TBC books being on here since they had alot of great horror elements such as Bramblestar's possession in LS, the tortured spirits under Ashfur's control showing themselves through him and in the Sisters ceremony during DW and the creeping destuction of the Dark Forest setting as well as the protags being hunted down by Ashfur's controlled spirits that TPoNS had to offer. ADP was scary thanks to the dog pack for sure and is kind of a classic because of it.

Disclaimer: I'm not a horror person. The most I can do are scary internet stories and some ARGs. Most creepypastas and horror media I avoid like the plague because they do awful things to my anxiety disorders.
Moonrise is first? Huh? Like, I get the horror of seeing your home be destroyed, but that's more disaster than horror.
I understand A Dangerous Path, though. Those dogs are monsters. I would love to see/make a found-footage style ARG based on this book.
Lost Stars should be higher. This was the book that solidified horror in Warriors, especially the end. Good psychological horror ending with supernatural. Also good ARG material.
The Place of No Stars is literally cats going to hell so it is creepy in a way. The possessed spirits and Willowshine up and dying are terrifying.
Darkness Within should be higher!! It is the creepiest TBC book tied with Silent Thaw.
Books that should have made include:
The Silent Thaw. Remember the prologue where Bramblestar watched his body come to life? And Antpelt randomly dying? And the ominous feeling of Bramblestar not being himself? And the ending where Shadowsight was nearly killed but all he could smell was mint? Gave me chills.
Veil of Shadows. Shadowsight legit saw Ashfur go in and out of Bramblestar's body, which was starting to ROT. Shadowsight spending a hefty amount of this book as a ghost.
Night Whispers. Our first book where Ivypaw sees the true extent of the Dark Forest training. Also Jayfeather trying to save Flametail but an ancient spirit telling him not to? Kinda creepy.
Goosefeather's Curse. A book about a CURSE. Scary stuff. Imagine the horror of seeing and hearing spirits, knowing what fates will bestow your loved ones without being able to do a thing. Sometimes being a seer of visions in this sort is a fate worse than being completely ignorant. And everyone thinks he is crazy but the visions are REAL.
Crookedstar's Promise. Making a promise to a seeming benevolent spirit only for her to be an evil cat trying to groom and punish you. Having her over your shoulder for your entire life as you suffer loss after loss. Learning she is evil and worrying about confiding to your Clanmates or standing up to her. REALLY SCARY.
Yellowfang's Secret. The horror of watching your life continually get turned upside down with a power you never asked for, and a secret son fated to nearly end the Clans being something you can only witness.
Hollyleaf's Story. Imagine becoming friends and lovers with a cat as you slowly find out he is a ghost.
Spottedleaf's Heart for obvious reasons.
My list would be:
1. Lost Stars 2. Goosefeather's Curse 3. Crookedstar's Promise 4. Night Whispers 5. A Dangerous Path

To be honest I'd put the entire TBC arc on that list. All six books are the definition of Spooky. I'm fine with A Dangerous Path but don't agree with Moonrise. Personally besides TBC I'd also put OOTS and the first three AVOS books as some of the spookiest books. I'd also include The Darkest Hour as well especially Stonefur's, and Tigerstar's deaths.

I'd put Darkness Within and TPONS higher on the list, and probably just add the entirety of TBC tbh.

The Silent Thaw. Bramblestar watches as Ashfur reanimates his corpse.

Yeah, The Broken Code is such a natural shoe-in for this list and oozes with Gothic horror themes everywhere, it's no surprise that it stacks up the majority of the spots. I do echo everyone here with saying that Moonrise is an odd one here, but I do understand the logic of treating Sharptooth kind of like the shark in Jaws. If that was the intent of the authors, then I don't think it was executed well, but it does help to make it a conceptually interesting idea. We needed more traces of the Sharptooth if that was the idea though, kind of like the traces of dog in Dangerous Path.
Cool list!

Yup, it sure is on there and even in first place, for some reason. This is why, according the website: Personally, I think one of the TBC books should've been in first place. Or they could've simply listed all of the TBC books to be perfect for a spooky read to begin with and make it a list of six (so just the whole arc lol) instead of only five books.

This is the website that didn’t even put Ashfur on its top 5 “Best of the Worst” list, so I’m not surprised they put Moonrise above TBC Sound reasoning. Ashfur was a terrifying villain overall and to not even be put in top 5...

I'd also cast a vote for TDH when Tigerstar gets disembowled. But ADP is creepier. Haven't read much of TBC yet, but I will eventually through my reread.
