Hello to all! I am dire need of a creative outlet and have not roleplayed in quite some time, so I'm looking to create some plots with others. With the forums being relatively dead and slow, dedicated roleplays are difficult to make and continue, so I decided to aim for smaller, more casual endeavors. I'm open to one-on-one threads or plots with multiple people.
This is not as polished as I had hoped, and somewhat messy, but I'm tired and just want to get into the fun.
Update 1/15: Closing this for now so I don't take on too much and get overwhelmed. If you're particularly interested though, feel free to reach out and I'll message you if something changes or at another date.
Expectations
➼ >18 As an adult, I am looking for roleplay partners who are also adults. I'm just more comfortable with it and feel we'll be better matched.
➼ Advanced I roleplay in "advanced" style, so if that's not your preference, we likely wont jive. I know quantity does not equal quality, so there are no length requirements, but I need more than a few lines. I tend to write lengthy posts myself (1000+ is fairly standard for me, but it can dip to ~600-800 depending on the scene), but I'll try to match my partner.
➼ Activity This is a low-commitment type deal and I'm quite flexible about activity. Feel free to float in and out as you can/want. A warning if you think you'll be busy or plan to leave entirely is appreciated, but not necessary. I can be spotty with activity, ranging from a few days to weeks for most responses, but possibly as short as a few hours or over a month. I am most active late at night.
➼ Creativity & Worldbuilding I enjoy creating original worlds and go heavy on the lore, even if it doesn't play a large role in the plot. Don't be shy about adding your own input either! I like when people will bounce ideas with me and worldbuild on the fly. I rarely do fandom-based plots or settings.
➼ Non-realism I'm an escapist at heart, so strict realism is emphatically not my cup of tea. I strongly prefer fantasy, sci-fi, or supernatural plots and worlds, and generally will chuck some science to the side for the sake of fun. The best I can do is "real world setting with secret/hidden magic."
➼ LGBT+ I welcome LGBT+ characters and expect anyone I roleplay with to be comfortable with them.
➼ Discussion I'm quite chatty alongside roleplay. I like musings about characters/lore and tend to discuss particulars of the plot as we go.
➼ Romance I prefer romance as a sub-plot to something else rather than romance for its own sake, but I will consider something romance-focused. I tend to let relationships develop as they may, but let me know if you'd like to aim for romance eventually.
➼ Drama Generally, I am a fan of angst. It wont be a part of every plot or character, but I do tend towards emotionally messy characters over very stoic or unflappable ones, and some emotionally fraught situations.
➼ Content Of course, content will be expected to fall within forum guidelines, but may touch on some mature or darker themes. If you have any particular qualms about certain topics, please discuss with me first so we can keep things comfortable.
➼ Style Commas, em-dashes, colons, semi-colons, parentheses, and ellipses are precious and beloved to me. Expect run-on sentences and comma splices in tandem. I make an attempt to use proper grammar and punctuation, but ignore the rules if it suits me. I am also prone to bouts of purple prose and generally verbose. I like descriptions and inner monologues.

Interests Bolded ideas are things I'm particularly interested in currently.
Genres, Themes & Tropes ➼ Fantasy probably takes the crown as my favourite genre. High fantasy, urban fantasy, etc. ➼ Anything sci-fi or futuristic in feel. I'm especially fond of space-related plots and settings. I focus more on the vibes than hard science. ➼ Supernatural/paranormal type plots. I particularly like ghosts and/or mediums being involved in some way. Vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, angels/demons, etc. in a more modern or "normal" setting are also fun. ➼ Mystery mixed with any other genre. ➼ I enjoy nearly every genre except historical. I don't hate it, but I usually only like it as a backdrop to something else (ex. fantasy world with tech/architecture/fashion/etc. inspirations from a particular era). ➼ Quests and general epic adventures. Plots that allow a lot of exploration. ➼ Courtly intrigue. Assassination plots and coups. Arranged unions. Really, anything with royals/leaders or politically powerful characters. ➼ Something with fae. ➼ Pirates or something to do with the sea. An odyssey? ➼ Apocalyptic scenarios and wasteland survival. ➼ Considerable action or just generally dangerous situations.
Characters & Dynamics ➼ Siblings! I'm a sucker for close siblings, but almost any dynamic with them is fun. Definitely my fave familial relationship. ➼ Best friends ➼ Forced to work together ➼ Found family ➼ Royal/guard in any capacity. Chaotic royal constantly putting themselves in danger, much to the chagrin of their guard. Royal and guard who let themselves get too close. Guard who hates their charge but puts up with them for honor-related reasons. Etc. ➼ Partners in crime. Literal crime or otherwise. ➼ Friends/family/lovers on opposite sides of a conflict. Either by alignment or physically. ➼ Rivalries ➼ Human very out of their depth in a world of magic/supernatural entities. ➼ Runaway royal. Maybe they have a good reason for it, such as avoiding assassins or rebels. Or perhaps they merely want to escape expectations. ➼ Magic-users. Especially when the cost of magic is high or it's dangerous.
Romance ➼ Friends to lovers. Probably my favourite romance trope. I'm so weak for friends to lovers, especially if they have been apart for years due to breakup/drifting apart/whatever and recently reunited. ➼ Enemies to friends to lovers slow-burn. Not in the petty or bullying type of enemies, like, they literally wanted each other dead at some point. Equal hate to equal love. ➼ Forbidden romance. Cliched, yet classic. Especially if they are vastly different in some way.

Okay so. I just started a bunch of things and I'm already just on the inside of being overwhelmed with the projects I am already a part of but. BUT I really really love your writing style and ideas and I really don't want to let this pass by? I don't know if I could keep up with something trad 1x1 tho. But I would totally be down to do some, like, parallel writing? Collaborative worldbuilding? Hear me out what if: Some sort of conflict between two groups (war, apocalypse, magic collapsing... all of these at once) and two siblings that are working together to fix but end up in two different kingdoms/sides/maybe spying??? arranged marriage??? Studying?? Questing?? warfront? idk. Anyways, both doing their own thing, writing their own stories, with their assortment of supporting minor characters but then they send LETTERS back and forth, and that's the real roleplay replies between the independent-story-bits, eh? Lmk if that sounds like it would be something that would work well with your creative flow. Hopefully that could be a way to have some back and forth but also, not have to wait up if the other gets busy? And can come back with more inspiration later? Anyways, here's some examples for more longform rp content from me on the forums here and boopI also have this concept floating around if that sparks joy?

Brownie Hello! I'm sorry for taking a while to get back to you. I don't know why, but the forums neglected to notify me anyone had responded to this, even though I have it bookmarked. That aside, I'm glad I got a response so quickly. Seems like these threads usually take a while to attract anyone. Honestly, I was a bit worried I'd scare too many people away with my expectations and general way of roleplaying, so it's a relief to hear you actually enjoy my style (and ideas, for that matter). I'll still apologize in advance though, because I can get quite ramble-y about most things.
Collaborative writing/worldbuilding sounds neat and I'd be totally down for it. I tend to have multiple characters and plot threads even in 1x1 situations, so I think that could work well. I'm not too fussed about the quickness of replies anyways. I definitely don't want anyone to feel pressured by this—it's meant to be fun, after all! Mostly I just wanted to write more this year (mainly my novels, but roleplay offers a different kind of allure to me, and it's still helpful practice), so that actually works out pretty well.
I'm notoriously a fan of apocalyptic worlds and scenarios, so that sounds right up my alley, and I love tragic siblings being torn apart by conflict. We could probably easily incorporate those things as being the consequences of each other (magic collapse -> apocalypse -> war OR any other order tbh) if we wanted. Honestly, any of those options as to why they're separated sound interesting, so let me know if you have a preference. An arranged marriage could add an interesting layer, with the married sibling coming under scrutiny as the conflict starts due to originally coming from the other side, and so they have to be discrete about what they're doing? It could also be that the sibs, for whatever reason, were already involved in some kind of investigation about the magic/apocalypse (maybe there was some sort of early sign/legend/whatever that it was going to happen) and one gets stranded on the other side when the groups begin fighting. That could probably tie in with spying, questing, or even the studying route.
Love the letters idea! I think it could provide an interesting way of doing some worldbuilding and conveying certain events/plot progression without necessarily having to roleplay it all out. If we did want some direct interactions occasionally, we could even still pick up particular plot threads and character interactions to be happening during/between the letters, influenced by what was written between the siblings, but not have it hold either of us back in writing other scenes. A sort of asynchronous type of roleplay, if that makes sense. I'm not sure I'm describing it very well but, if that works for you, we could include something like that.
Did you have any particular ideas for the setting/world or general lore? I'm open to most things, so let me know if there's anything you'd really like to incorporate or that you would enjoy. Otherwise, I have a few various worldbuilding tidbits we could build from.
Also, I can PM you some of examples of my own roleplay content if you like! I haven't been part of many roleplays recently, but I have a few posts from a couple of roleplays I joined, and there should be quite a bit of content from my one long-term small group.

All good, I tend to get a little rambly with things too. And no need for a sample, I'm familiar with your writing from when I used to lurk otrp lmao I just wanted to give a little bit of mine because my most recent rp's are more shortform.
And I totally get the asynchronous bit!! tbh I've been trying to get someone on board with the idea of something like that for a long, long while now but no one's quite taken me up on it. I also like to spend a lot of time with multiple characters and side plots and that can be hard to do in a trad 1x1.
As for world, uhhh I'm also down for anything? Anything magic/apocalypse-y will give me enough space to do whatever I want to do for sure. I am more of a "figure it out when it comes up" kind of worldbuilder rather than a "plan everything first". I like having a few very solid bones and then using characters and their motivations to get into the details ^^ I do think it would be cool for there to have been some sort of "modern" society close to our current tech level that somehow got wiped out and was forced to start fresh. I just think abandoned megacities are cool af for worldbuilding low-level society structure uwu
If you have any starting sparks, lmk. I'm really down for any starter~ I can work with anything tbh

Brownie Ah, okay! I just felt it was only fair to offer since you provided some. I've actually seen your posts around in passing too (I've actually looked in on you one-on-none thread before), so I was already a bit familiar with your work.
I wish it were a more popular format, because I think it could help a lot with how slow the forums are these days. I actually had a few sandbox-style roleplays in the works that would utilize something asynchronous (namely, a science-fantasy space-opera-esque one; a dark fantasy following a post-apocalyptic nation; a more traditional fantasy with high variation in groups, locations, and species; and one with interdimensional travel and some really complicated worldbuilding). Nobody would ever be stuck because the interactions would just be understood as having happened at different times, so multiple plot threads could be carried out. They could cross over sometimes as well, which would be the more traditional route, especially for "main" plot beats, but overall there would be a lot freedom to develop things independently and on the side.
We don't have to cover much, I just want to make sure I'm setting something up that you will also enjoy building off of. I can get rather... "out there," for lack of better descriptor, when I'm given completely free rein of the worldbuilding. Basically, I just don't want to lay down a starter that has lore elements you dislike for this particular roleplay, or that contradicts any ideas you were planning already. And I want you to be able to have an active role in things as well. That said, I love worldbuilding on the fly and I'm happy to just wing it.
Some of my thoughts/ideas: ➼ Do you prefer strictly human characters or would fantasy humanoid fantasy species (original species or otherwise) also be okay? Are the nations comprised of only one species, a mix of some different ones, or do the demographics vary between them (ex. one group has mostly humans, the other is mainly elves)? Also, aside from the megacity, do you have any basic ideas for the geography or other "physical" aspects of the setting?
➼ Do you have a preference for what your main sibling character's age or anything about their relationship? Like if they're the older or younger one, how far apart they are in age, that sort of thing. My characters are typically in their 20s (probably 22-26 is my current main range), but I can go a bit older.
➼ For my "main" character, I was thinking that maybe they'd gone to the other group to train and, in return, they were pledged as a guard to one of the ruling family's members? A sort of mutual extension of goodwill between the two (methinks before the conflict that they were tentative allies, or at least neutral) in hopes of strengthening their relations. Perhaps that nation had more knowledge/skill in a particular magical art that the character showed talent in. Magic could generally be rare and something of a dying artform as a result of the prior apocalypse. I also had some vaguer ideas about them being in a diplomat position of sorts, but I'll probably wait until I get a feel for them before setting anything in stone.
➼ Which leads to my next point, that maybe the two groups had a similar origin? I also enjoy abandoned cities, so maybe the groups are both descended from survivors of and older civilization, but only came into contact/the area more recently. Part of the ruins could even serve as a neutral meeting ground for the siblings, if we ever decided to have them meet up, and be a source of information about whatever problem they're trying to solve.
➼ Also, this is not really an important detail, but how do you feel about fantasified carrier pigeons for delivering the letters between the siblings? Like, domesticated gryphons type deal. Instead of big cat/bird of prey hybrids, they're some kind of small domesticated animal mixed with smaller birds. There could also be a form of magic for it, but maybe the siblings can't use it because it's traceable. I just like carrier pigeons.
➼ I've got a few more ideas, but I'll probably save them for actual roleplay posts.
Anyways, I can probably get the thread for us up tonight and then I'll work on a starter, if that's okay with you? You can also do the starter if you like, I'm fine either way.
sweetclover1 Hey, thanks for posting! Honestly, I'm not too concerned about it. I have seen some of your posts in passing, and I generally trust people to know their own style and what post lengths they're comfortable with. I am also happy to send examples over if you want them though! I haven't roleplayed anything super recently, but my post-length/style have been pretty consistent.
High fantasy is one of my favourites, so I'd definitely be down to do something like that, especially a good quest. We could probably incorporate both of those dynamics if you'd be okay with multiple characters. Maybe one of the siblings is a guard and accompanying the royal on a quest? Their sibling (and maybe another NPC type character if we wanted) could come along with them. I would be okay with having two characters, but I understand if you don't want to over-complicate things. Just let me know!
Do you have anything else you'd specifically be interested in? Otherwise, I have some general setting, character, and lore ideas saved up that could be tweaked for various plots.
Also, weekly responses or less are totally fine! I'm currently in the process of trying to go back to school and I'll be moving soon, so I'll probably be pretty close to that at best. Honestly, a few hours-days is my quickest response time, but more accurately is usually takes over a week in recent times. My schedule tends to be chaotic, so it just varies a lot. And I'm happy to chat between replies too!

(; I love my little 1x0 it's so nice to write something with no pressure about plot or length or making it feel like a publishable work it's just. Fanwork of my own canon I guess?? Very good, would recommend.
And you can totally do the starter if you have the muse! I've already put in my 3k today xp I still can go more after I grab some food, but if you got the energy for it, I'm a big fan of following up on other starters. I do so much original worldbuilding, I go to rp to take some of the control away, if that makes sense? Like the farther out and crazier it is and the less likely I would have come up with it on my own, the more fun I'll have with it.
I do tend to keep magic systems/power curves relatively "realistic" or at least have some firm boundaries/logic to what is and isn't possible. I also usually try and root my worlds in science and physics (minus conservation of energy because... magic) but I'd like to try and stretch a little thinner for this one? Make it a little more whimsical/wild magic rather than a science? It would be super interesting if you, with your magic learning character, are more in charge of dictating what magic is and what it could do and that history, and my character could be more science-minded about practical applications and other aspects of the worldbuilding, like biology/chemistry side of things?
And onto the ideas (which are GREAT I love little fantasy pigeons ;-;):
1) I am totally 100% down for non-humans/humanoids. I would love the idea that humans are scattered about everywhere in between the other societies because they just... adapt to whatever group they were raised in. And everyone's just okay with that? Like humans are basically cats: mutually beneficial to society, go where they please, and kinda cute if you squint. I'm okay with sticking to more traditional high fantasy/DnD races or going wild; I uh, tend to sit really deep in the "creating new biosphere/ecology" parts of worldbuilding if you let me so if we go wild, you're def gonna have some sentient rock people or hive-mind fungi symbiotes running amok. I just really love finding weird niche earth things and going: but what if it was MORE?
2) Age. I'm down for anything, tbh. I'm not a fan of writing really young characters (at least for POV/main) but anything over like, 15 is chill and 19+ is comfort. I think if you're doing a character travelling away to learn magic, I'd appreciate doing an older sibling, though? Someone who feels a little powerless that their younger sib has magic when they didn't, who wishes they didn't have to put them in danger and wishes they could have went in their place (both for protection reasons and envy reasons). I think that would be a fun dynamic and I could totally have a lot to work with in that scope. Your call on the age gap, though~ I don't even mind if we do twins and one is "older" by being the more mature/responsible of the pair. Up to you! I have ideas for all options here.
3) I'm totally cool with being the "stay at home, monitor things here" sib!! I think I'm liking the idea of a character that doesn't WANT to have to be involved with the conflict, but when their younger sib starts taking action, they find themselves in a supporting role more and more often and start getting involved for their sake? I can totally have plenty of places to work with in the homeland, trying to keep things from falling apart over here to give your character more time to do what they need to do.
4) I like the common origin! It would be interesting to have a group that was, once, maybe the same group but had some political schism (brought on by some external pressure? Maybe magic coming back in slight amounts, and the higher ups trying to hide that? and then it all comes out and there's a big split) and one group moved away, but the place they moved to ended up unsustainable and so now are trying to come back to the old city and are on the original nation's borders again? We could even do the very, very cliche of "one parent on each side" kind of thing, if the war was only 20ish years ago.
5) Please please please go crazy on other species/creatures!! They don't even have to be based on earth hybrids go absolutely wild!! Esp because, maybe after magic died for the first time, everything that was being sustained with magic twisted to survive and now it's like, we have magic creatures that are also very, very mutated? I really love the idea of playing with magic mutations ;-;

Brownie I'm happy to do the starter. It probably won't end up getting posted tonight, but I'll almost definitely start working on it. I've been on a bit of a motivated streak lately, so I anticipate I'll have a lot to write. I definitely understand what you mean. One of the big appeals of roleplay for me is not exercising full creative control. I get to experience and react to things alongside the characters.
I'd like to think I have scientific basis in my worlds, but... eh? I'd feel like a fraud saying it. Not because I dislike it, but I just know it's more science-adjacent at best. I tend towards a science + magic deal, where magic it itself adds a different layer to the nature of the universe, almost like an additional fundamental force. I do try to add some degree of science in my worlds, but it's more about maintaining an internal consistency, rather than conforming it to an earth-based reality. I like to pick out things I already know I want to exist and then work towards explaining the why of it. But like. I can get wacky with the science, there's no denying it. Especially cosmology and physics. I love making bizarro worlds. So definitely I can craft something more fanciful. And I think I have something in mind more the magic system already. Hopefully you like the path I take, but if you end up not, it's no issue for me to work out something else.
1. Okay, that totally works! I love creating fictional species, but I wasn't sure what your preference would be. I think it would be interesting if humans were originally a more widespread, common species, but the apocalypse/magic problems dwindled their numbers significantly, for various reasons we could get into during roleplay. When it comes to the "stock" fantasy species, I usually more like to take some particular traits of them and tweak it for my own world rather than just using their typical incarnations. Also, bold of you to assume I haven't created a sentient rock species. I actually have a lot of fragmented species ideas (ranging from humanoid to rather outlandish in some cases), including some different takes on classic fantasy species, so I can also blather about those if it pleases you.
2. Oh, yeah, I only really write younger characters if it's a NPC-type or for a flashback. I'm partial to chaotic younger siblings, so I'd enjoy that setup. I'll probably aim for early twenties (maybe 20-22) since I'm doing the younger sibling and I think anywhere from 2-8 years apart could work. Maybe if we want to emphasize the disparity of maturity/experience (and perhaps even political power) a bit more, we could aim for 6-8 years.
3. I don't have much to say here other than that I already really like this setup so far! And, okay, okay, I just got this idea. I'm not sure if you wanted the siblings to be humans or one of the other species, but. What if the sibs were orphaned humans adopted into the group at a young age, possibly by the ruling family? It'd give them a reason to be close to the conflict + could tie in with the older sibling being more protective and generally mature if they had to take care of their younger sibling on their own for a while. I'm not sure what you had in mind for the group compositions, as far as species go, but I was thinking maybe a mix of a few different species would be fun. We could also have other species (in their own groups and as lone survivors) in existence around the world.
4. Ooh, I'd love if the groups were originally one big group of survivors (maybe some members descended from the city's original inhabitants, hence why they're in the area) that split. I think I like the idea that magic was starting to show up again, but it's different (one might even say mutated) and it puts everyone on edge. There could be stories and some saved knowledge of magic, so they realize none of what's happening now aligns with what is known about magic, or depending on how long it's been since the end/if we have more long-lived species, maybe some of them were alive towards the end of magic's death and they know this is something new.
The group that split off could either be some dissatisfied citizens OR, if we wanted to go the separate parents route, the ruling family itself could have split over disagreements on how to handle the magic (could be one side is more for the trad magic and so doesn't want to mess with this newfangled stuff or they just don't want to fool with magic at all anymore). That could definitely be the angstier of the options, but I like either one. Especially if, depending on the timeframe, the older sibling could still remember when they were only one group, and so they still have family or friends on the other side, and losing their sibling in much the same way is especially difficult.
Also, what timeline do you want to work with? The siblings just now getting split up or have been for a few years? I was considering my character started their training maybe in their later teens, and so they have lived in the other group for a while, but have been able to visit since things have been relatively stable between the two. But then something happens that kickstarts the conflict (we could start maybe right before then and fill in some earlier scenes later on) and they end up having to choose whether to return home or stay with their mentor and other family? or at least friends. They decide to stay (for multiple reasons), but are kind of working their own agenda (what they think is best) over either side's goals. Meanwhile the older sibling doesn't really have a choice, but do end up getting roped into shenanigans because their sibling.
5. I might just have to give my character a whole menagerie of weird little guys lol
Okay, sorry that was messier and longer than I intended. I don't make the most sense when I'm tired, so hopefully it was easy enough to understand. There's some more worldbuilding and ideas I could probably get into, but I think I'll save it for once we get into the roleplay, both because I've already yammered on a lot, and I'd like to just sort of see how you like what I come up with and let it develop from there.

Yo if you get a thread up, I can put some character concepts to match to whatever you're doing ^^ I have a few ideas, but it depends on how things shake out with your character and the world which one will fit the best~
And if I try and reply to all the points above we're just going to make longer and longer posts lMAO so Imma just say: ditto to all that, I think the split between magic "purists" and magic "utilitarians" is a great starting point and I'm totally down to work in that space and see where it takes us

Brownie Sounds good! I'll get it up here and just a few minutes and worry with coding and such later on. I have a few character ideas, but they're still early in development, so if you're able to get yours up first, feel free! And, yeah, don't worry about it.
Hello!
Awesome, I don't need any role-play examples either!
I've been getting really, really into high fantasy lately so I'm excited that it's one of your favorites. There's just so much that you can play around with world building wise, plus magic is always fun! I'm down with playing multiple characters! I find it to be a good challenge and a great excuse to play around with multiple points of view within a role-play.
How close do we want the siblings to be? Are there any dynamics that you would want to play around with?
I don't have anything else I'd be interested in. What are some of the lore and setting ideas you have? I can find some quest goals that can fit into those
My schedule is also pretty chaotic, too, and I'll be starting grad school in the fall so that won't help any of the business either ^^'.

sweetclover1 Hello again! Sorry I took a while to answer; I had something come up.
I always enjoy high fantasy and magic systems. There's just a lot to play around with.
Generally, I think tight sibling bonds are fun, but I don't mind branching out either. They could be close, but also have kind of a rivalry going on, maybe? Or maybe they start out more distant and we could have them become closer? I'm fairly open to anything you might like.
I don't have many specifics in mind, though I did have some older roleplay ideas and mini plots that might work with something like that. Since you mentioned liking royal/guard dynamics as well, we could have the siblings be royals and one of the extra characters be a guard for one. And maybe their rivalry, if we went that route, could stem from competing for recognition in their family. Like I said, I'm flexible, just tossing some ideas out.
These can be adjusted to fit our needs, they're just some bare bones starter plots I had lying around: 1. Two nations have been at war for many years. At last, with a new threat on the horizon, the leaders have agreed to meet in peace (possibility of an arranged marriage subplot here). However, the negotiation is interrupted by an attack, leaving the leaders of both sides dead (along with several others), and only their heirs left. Each side vehemently dies any involvement with the attack, leaving the survivors to grudgingly work together to find the truth and solve their nations' problems. 2. An ancient, legendary kingdom was known wide and far for its prosperity and unique magical gifts. Strangely, at the height of its glory, the reigning king abruptly cut off contact with the outside world, sealing the kingdom with a magical barrier. Millennia later, the young monarch of a newer nation is determined to uncover the truth about the kingdom. After years of carrying out the search started long before their time, they discover the kingdom's whereabouts and are able to break through the barrier. Unfortunately, the kingdom is now entirely abandoned and in ruins. There is an eerie lack of traces of life, with the only remnant being a skeletal figure sitting upon a throne. The current monarch feels oddly drawn to them, taking the old king's crown and some other resources from the castle, in hopes of learning more about the kingdom and their source of power. However, it soon becomes apparent to others that the monarch has begun acting strangely and something seems to be stirring in the old kingdom. Thus, some people go on a quest to further investigate it.
3. An earthquake opens a passageway in an underground city to the surface for the first time in ages. The city was originally built as a bunker to survive an apocalypse, but most have since even forgotten their origins. Many are skeptical to the safety of the outside world and so an exploratory group is sent to scout first.
4. I didn't have much for this one, but a group goes on a quest to find an old god in order to stop a prophecy of doom. Or something along those lines.
Oh, congratulations on grad school!

Hey, sorry I thought I responded to this! I promise I will be more consistent with my responses!
Oooh, I would love them being close but having a rivalry. Maybe one of them taking on more responsibilities that the other wants or believes that they could do? If they are royal siblings it could be the increasing tension of one royal being next in line for the throne and leaving the younger a bit behind because of their duties. So, when growing up they were close, but now the older sibling has Secrets and other responsibilities that they can't or won't share with their younger sibling?
Also I love idea 1 and 4. Quests to find an old god are always fun! We could probably combine the two?
And thank you!!! I'm excited to get back into schooling again

No worries! I’ve not been all that active myself. I’m getting over an illness and generally dealing with some things, so I probably will be less prolific anyways.
I think them having a close but strained relationship would be interesting, so I’m happy to do that route. I particularly like the idea that the royals have some secret knowledge or problems that only the heir becomes privy too.
Also, those two were my favourites, so I’m glad you like them as well. I think combining them would be quite easy and mesh well with the dynamics we’re using. The current monarch being assassinated, thus plunging the elder royal sibling to power could definitely exacerbate the already rising tension between the two. And perhaps the quest for the old god is the solution for whatever current problem is plaguing the warring nations now?
Sorry this is brief, as I don’t have too many specifics in mind right now. I’ll work on some more over the next few days.

I am, thank you!
Sounds good to me and, yeah, I'm definitely the type to worldbuild as we go. I can go ahead and get a page up so we have a more dedicated space for planning, then post some more thoughts and ideas over there.
