So with the release of Thunder we can properly assess the Wind blurb. Looking back, it isn't too bad. Yes, it outright states some plot points, but a lot of reveals/added context is kept for the book. WHAT THE WIND BLURB SAID Berryheart's exile was stated, but we didn't know that Hollowspring, Sparrowtail, and possible others went with her. We also now know she isn't close to being done, and that Tigerheartstar is now becoming even worse due to the nature of the exile.
We know Waffle joined the Clans, along with another cat. We now know that the cat is Wasp.
The blurb said that Splashtail took over RiverClan. He did, but we also know that Podlight was involved in doing so, and is now a medicine cat apprentice. WHAT THE WIND BLURB LEFT OUT The revelation of Curlfeather being evil and the ringleader to the RiverClan conspiracy was never given a word.
Frostpaw's connection to the Cats of the Park, and interest of bringing that culture home to RiverClan wasn't acknowledged.
Squirrelstar and Brambleclaw were confirmed, but if the skepticism is right, there's more to that. Also Ivypool is Clan deputy.
BERRYHEART HAS HER FAMILY WRAPPED AROUND HER CAT FINGERS. So yeah. Although the Wind blurb says a little much, and should have been toned down a bit, it wasn't as bad as we all thought.

i agree. yeah, they could've gone easier on the revealing of spoilers, but honestly we should be thankful, because it could've been worse

I think the Wind blurb was still pretty bad in terms of spoilers. - Without it spoiling so much, we would not have even known that Berryheart would be exiled and it could've instead been a fun surprise. As well as the fact that it already revealed that her scheming is far from over and that we already know from it that she'll somehow get sick between the exile and when Sunbeam visits her in Wind somehow.
- Without it spoiling so much, we would not have known that two Park cats, Waffle and Wasp, follow Nightheart home and he trains them. Granted we did not know who exactly it would be but still.
- Without it spoiling so much, and this is probably the worst one, we would not know that Frostpaw trying to expose Splashtail (although he was not named specifically in that regard) goes wrong and that "she seeks refuge in ShadowClan" while Splashtail is outright stated to "turn to violence". Yes, the Curlfeather twist was thankfully not spoiled but this is still a big spoiler for the beginning of Wind, when that book hasn't even come out yet and the end of Thunder, which just came out. Since it leaves zero room for theories on how Frostpaw exposing Splashtail could go due to it being literally spelled out for us in the blurb for the next book coming out only in spring of next year. The only thing it really did right was not revealing what happens in regards to the BrambleSquirrel situation. That's it.

The problem is, they still ruined lots of the book. Sure, thunder was easily a worthwhile read because of the stuff left out of the blurb, but it might have caused people to decide not to read it. Just because they got half of it right doesn’t mean they got a passing grade.
