So it finally happened...Squirrelstar...my dreams have come true...I went onto the wiki today when I got home to see if Squirrelstar happened, and my god it did.
From what I've gathered, is there a possibility that she didn't actually receive nine lives? Yes.
Is her leadership unlikely to last past ASC? imo yes.
Does this put a damper on my happiness? Nope.
Squirrelstar has been my GIRL for over 16 years and I'm sooooo over the moon right now; the whole thing just feels surreal to me. I will be forever thankful that I actually, finally got to see her be Squirrelstar, no matter how short-lived it might be. Deputy Ivypool is just the icing on the cake.
That's how I feel about it, anyways! How do you guys feel about Squirrelstar?

Hate it. She's already proven to not be that good of a leader.
I especially hate that Bramblestar needs to be continuously torn down so that Squirrelflight can look better.
If it's revealed that she never actually got any lives and dies within the next two books, I'll die happy.

sorry for ranting I hate it. I mean, I think she’s just too headstrong and she might seem like a good leader (def better than poor Brambleclaw) but I think she will make bad impulse decisions.
The way she treated Flamepaw/Nightheart was not my cup of tea. She should have a better relationship with her Clanmates, not beefing with one and being a teddy bear to another.
In addition to that, I also do not like her, so if anything super good happens to her i’m just going to be like “what a waste”.
All in all, I personally do not like Squirrelstar.

She didn't even start war with anybody this book. I know people want her because of her popularity, but there comes a point where it pays well to scrutinize her objectively. And I'm waiting on better results.

I don't care either way, though I honestly don't expect her reign to last that long either (then again, I also think all of the cats from the first two arcs should be dead by down, not just Squirrelstar).
Having actually read the book though, it is worth noting that Squirrelstar's eyes were shining when she announced she'd become leader and the chances of us actually getting to see the ceremony was always going to be extremely low anyway. If it's a lie, especially one formed out of desperation, then I'm just wondering why they didn't just pass on the position to Ivypool since everyone clearly trusts her, unless this is a test of some sort since Dovewing is in ShadowClan, or they're following StarClan's instructions again. The delay to the Moonpool also seems pointless too if it wasn't a sign of rejection, but then again, Nightstar wasn't rejected until he actually got to the Moonstone, so... I really do think it could go either way.

Very much so. She deserves at least a taste of leadership after her struggles and it will likely result in interesting plotlines. This means deputy Ivypool too, and so far she seems to be comptetent and reasonable, helping to organize the mediations. Brambleclaw gets to retire too.
I'm not sure if I want her to remain leader for very long, as I'm waiting for Ivystar and don't want her to do something frustrating, but I honestly think she's matured a bit since TBC, whether for traumatic reasons or not, and I'm looking forward to seeing how she leads.
