Why, why on earth do they do this? It's Tigerheart's Shadow and Darkest Night/River of Fire all over again. Ivypool's Heart takes place at the same time as ASC6, but comes out before it. When we get to Star, it'll pretty much be completey spoiled. Someone should really mention this to them.

Do what I do. Buy the book but don't read it til you read asc#6

while it does make little to no sense.. like winter posted, you should just buy the book and wait until youve read the asc#6.

Nah, books are usually best read in release order, but it doesn't make sense that they'd release them this way.

Well I don't think anyone really needs to mention this to them because I'm pretty sure they . They know.
I guess you could ask why if you want to but why not just try to enjoy the book and not be stressed out about spoilers? Think of them as "sneak peeks" into Star rather than just spoilers. Ivypool will probably not be focused on too much in Star so her SE will be about what she did while the actual heroes of the arc did their stuff.
Sure maybe some things will be less surprising but since the creators intentionally do this I personally just consider the "spoiling" as just like... new info dropped. I don't get all the worry.

Pretty sure I made a thread raising similar concerns not too long ago...
Either way, it's just a potential theory/problem for now and we'll just have to wait and see.

I hadn't noticed it and also, it's a lot more than just a potential problem. They don't care how they spoil us, it seems. Edit: I guess I've posted in it but I totally forgot.

Back onto topic, I have a feeling that they might do a GV for IH, idk whether it would be a journey, subplot, or character development but based on how GV didn’t spoil TBC very much, I feel that it might be the same. Honestly I feel like this would be the best option for spoiler reasons (unless IH is similar to TS by having Ivypool rise to leadership, then big oof.)

I just had the horrible terrible feeling that Ivypool's going to have more kits in her SE.... I mean, you’re not wrong, I was speculating that she would have a second litter before River was released because of how the team referred Bristlefrost in her tribute as someone from Ivypool’s first litter. If this were the case I would prefer it if Ivypool and Fernsong adopted instead of a second litter, but at this point I doubt she would have a second litter but who knows.

I just had the horrible terrible feeling that Ivypool's going to have more kits in her SE.... Why would it be such a horrible thing for Ivypool to have more kits though? It would even be especially understandable after the death of Bristlefrost for her to want to have more kits to sort of fill the void she left. Or either Thriftear or Flipclaw end up becoming a parent and Ivypool is then happy with being a grandmother instead of having another litter of kits herself. And also, it would probably give us another chance at seeing Fernsong actually finally as a nursery dad/king. Since we've only seen it implied/alluded to but never shown much on-screen for now.

See, I’m having the opposite view of the Bristlefrost situation then you have. We are guessing the book involves so sort of grieving for Bristlefrost because of the title, right? It would feel weird and out of character if Ivypool had kits so soon after losing her daughter. And irrc Ivypool was on the fence about having kits to begin with. It just doesn’t seem like her to have a second litter. Although if she does have one, I’d love to see Fernsong in the nursery.

If she were to have another litter, it would feel to me like it was only for the sake of a protagonist having another litter I mean, I already said that, to me, it could've had actual reasoning in the story in regards to her loss of Bristlefrost if she did have another litter and it not just being the case of a former protagonist having more kits just for the heck of it. As well as the chance to see Fernsong raising them in the nursery after they are weaned. Since we didn't even get to see that with their first litter. But I, of course, understand that not everyone (especially not every Ivypool fan) would want that to happen.

It just doesn’t seem like her to have a second litter. Although if she does have one, I’d love to see Fernsong in the nursery. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that matter since I'm thinking it would make perfect sense for her to want more kits after loosing her daughter like that forever. Although I suppose it could also end similarly to Squirrelflight in Squirrelflight's Hope where she wanted kits throughout the book but ultimately ended up happy with taking care of her daughter Sparkpelt's kits together with Sorrelstripe instead while Sparkpelt was grieving for Larksong and Flickerkit. So, if Thriftear ends up having kits, I can see Ivypool happily taking on the role of grandmother. Perhaps one of those kits could be called Frostkit in honor of Bristlefrost since we already got a Bristlekit. Which would then mean double Graypaws and double Frostpaws (depending on when Thriftear would have kits during the finale) in one arc but oh well. Don't mind me, just brainstorming an idea here.

Spoil what? If she becomes leader or not? If she does become leader, it'll be spoiled but we'll get a closer look in Ivypool's Heart, if she doesn't? Then it's fine.
I can see why it would be annoying, because you'd want the shock of reading it in the same super edition, but I just feel like it's not that bad and leadership might not be the focus of this super edition anyways.

"Hi, Jaysnow,
We’re very glad to hear that you’re excited about the upcoming books! Please don’t worry about IVYPOOL spoiling A STARLESS CLAN #6 – while we can’t go into details now, for obvious reasons, the story is designed to be read independently of the arc, and will absolutely not spoil anything to do with the continuing story that we have been working on. All will very soon become clear, we promise! J
Best wishes,
James"
I can smell a journey book on the horizon...
