The whole scene with StarClan was pretty funny. I could just imagine the five leaders huddled around a TV watching everything unfold, and Gray Wing shows up to give them drinks every once in a while.
I like how StarClan is taking a hands-off approach here. I'm just excited to see Frostpaw cook.

I noticed this too! I feel like it's worst with Frostpaw though because at least Firestar had a bunch of cats he knew he could rely on. Frostpaw, meanwhile, really has no one except maybe Whistlepaw right now, and even then, they've barely interacted up until now. And even if we ignore how sus Splashtail is being, he hasn't exactly been the most supportive of her, either. It's been nearly four books and she hasn't even said a single word to Nightheart or Sunbeam yet!

While I would genuinely LOVE to see Frostpaw as RiverClan's official next leader, she's severely underqualified. I wonder how they would handle it if she really was supposed to become the new leader.

This honestly gives me hope that Frostpaw has a very good chance to actually become the next proper RiverClan leader.
After Splashtail is done with his scheme according to the Wind blurb where he is mentioned to seize power and become more violent in his approach (paraphrasing here).
But yeah, poor Firestar and Frostpaw! I hope that Frostpaw will be able to find cats to support her like Firestar had/did.
Fingers crossed for Froststar!

During Sky (or still River) when Sunbeam was taking an injured Clanmate (forgot who) to RiverClan territory because it was closer and wanted to go to the camp (but was stopped because the RiverClan cats were trying to hide how it looked and also how Mistystar and Reedwhisker were absent). They brought Frostpaw out and she briefly spoke with Sunbeam while examining and treating the injury. Nightheart did also already take note of Frostpaw in Shadow at a gathering due to her role in regards to the choosing of new leadership (but did not speak to her). Thunder blurb spoilers I do think that him and Frostpaw will have plenty of time to finally talk (and bond) when they go on the journey to the old territories in Thunder (but hopefully no romance).

That doesn't really count, though (or at least I don't); Frostpaw and Sunbeam's interaction was incredibly brief and like you yourself even said, Nightheart hasn't even spoken a single word to her yet. And of course he'd take note of her, considering she'd been training as a medicine cat at the time and medicine cats tend to be pretty significant in general. For all we know, he was probably even at the Gathering when Frostpaw's apprenticeship to Mothwing was announced. Either way, Frostpaw isn't really close with either of them at the moment even though we're already on the fourth book and that's my point.

I took this part of your comment to mean that you had forgotten about their interaction because of the wording. And it does still mean that they did interact. Even if wasn't really all that meaningful. I'm sure there will be plenty of interactions between all three in the second half of ASC. Shadowsight and Bristlefrost didn't start to properly interact until the second half of TBC either iirc (although that's not meant to say it was a good thing). They both were at least noted to be aware about them being cousins (or just related since the word cousin has never been used in the series and instead went with "their mothers were sisters" or something like that).

I personally do not want Froststar in any shape or form period. She is just to young and fragile the same as her littermates. The next leader of RiverClan should be at least at the bare minimum 2.5 to 3 years old on the low end of the spectrum and 6-7 years old on the high end of the spectrum. Right now Frostpaw is not in the running for leadership she is just to young and inexperienced to lead a fractured RiverClan if she did RiverClan would cease to exist. She might one day be leader but if she is it will be after the next StarClan approved leader because she is too young and fragile at this point.

I feel that’s why Riverstar is going to send her on that quest mentioned in the blurb, I think it’s going to be some spiritual rite of passage type thing and maybe at the end of it all Riverstar himself might give her a warrior name and send her back on her way to claim RiverClan as her own.

I don't want Froststar. At all. But it looks almost inevitable at this point. I pray to StarClan I'm wrong.

My current theory is that Frostpaw was always destined to be the next leader after Reedstar. But then both him and Mistystar died too early and now Riverstar is being stubborn.
