It infuriates me that the Erins had one good, healthy, and most importantly non-incestuous ship between two characters that actually had chemistry(Blazefire and Sunbeam), and they decided, nah, drama is more good.

Honestly I wouldn’t necessarily be upset if Sunbeam ended up having another, different healthy and non-dramatic relationship. Like it’d be a nice message that sometimes romantic relationships don’t always work out first try. But I don’t think that’s what is going to happen…

However, I will say that Nightheart might be my new favorite character, so props for that Erins.

Well the good thing is that Blazefire can get with anyone and it won't be incestuous at least.

My unpopular opinion is that Sunbeam and Blazefire were uncompelling from the beginning and I never understood the hype for them. Even from the preview chapters that were released, it seemed clear to me that they were setting up a break-up. From the very start, you have Sunbeam feeling like Blazefire isn't listening to her concerns, and the fact that this is the moment of introduction to them sealed their fate immediately in my mind.
I enjoyed their relationship in so far as it provides great fodder for some very funny moments of dramatic irony as Sunbeam all but gets cuckholded right in front of her nose, but that's as far as I care for it. The whole drama of how it unspools adds to the comedic aspect of ASC, but it would have been dull if it had been played straight in my opinion.

Don't care anymore about the sunken ship of BlazeSun since the "break-up" (aka Blazefire telling her to just be friends) happened some time ago irl (River came out last April while the Sky drama has also been discussed enough at this point and most people are looking towards the release of Shadow). That being said, they had some amount of potential but never to warrant the hype (which I was a part of previously) on the various ASC threads on here back then. I do agree with vectoring34 that it does seem obvious in retrospect, that BlazeSun just simply would not make it as a pairing. The writing team wants drama and NightSun (thanks, I hate it) gives them just that (still hoping they are just a drama source and not actually endgame). I'm just here being over it right now and ship Sunbeam with Shadowsight these days. They will never be canon but I do hope that their canon friendship gets developed more and not left in the dust so Sunbeam becomes better friends with Lightleap (no spoilers for Sky here) again. Would kind of love to see a great friendship between a she-cat and tom that doesn't turn into a romance though (even if I do ship ShadowSun).
