It is more compelling than I remember it being. Firepaw feels like your typical fish-out-of-water protagonist. It's interesting to see how in the earlier days of Warriors how these Clan cats are supposed to be really tough and it is Firepaw's background that makes him more of an empathetic character. He was willing to listen to Yellowfang, an outsider, when others would've most likely chased her off. He also thought twice about killing another for the most part (Clawface is the exception). Bluestar and Yellowfang were my favorite supporting characters in this one. I love calm, mild-mannered, yet sweet characters and we get that with Bluestar (despite her descent into madness later on). She was a good mentor and it is cool to see how she and Yellowfang serve a sort of mother role with Firepaw. Anyways, here's a rushed drawing of the OG trio (Graystripe is so doofus in this): It's kind of sad to think about how they're all deceased now. It was cool rereading the blossoming of Firepaw's and Graypaw's friendship when their scene from A Light in the Mist is pretty fresh in my head. Their friendship is the type of friendship you want: the type that lasts a lifetime and it doesn't matter how much time passes, the connection is still as strong as ever.

Their friendship is the type of friendship you want: the type that lasts a lifetime and it doesn't matter how much time passes, the connection is still as strong as ever. That's such a sweet way of phrasing it - and entirely true. There's something special about the OG trio and the tight-knit friendship they formed. Even with Ravenpaw living in a completely different area, the three of them could always go back to being close buds like no time had passed at all. It's something you don't see often in this series. While I'm glad they all were able to live happy, fulfilling lives, it also makes me sad that they're not alive anymore. At least they're together in StarClan.

Haha, I love that drawing! It’s so goofy and funky, it encapsulates the personalities of the trio perfectly! And yeah, into the wild (and the first arc in general) is such a great series, one of my favorites. It’s not the best series, but it’s definitely up there. It’s the foundation for the entire series, how could it not be so amazing? Also I do not want to think about how Firestar, Graystripe and Ravenpaw are all dead now, it feels like the end of an era
