Clans:
- ThistleClan - cats of the forest. a woodland-dwelling clan who is renowned for their stealth and ferocity. pelt colors are generally darker and tabby striped.
- BrambleClan - cats of the moor. a plains-dwelling clan who is renowned for their swiftness and pride. pelt colors are generally lighter and mottled.
Territory:
Rural countryside away from the twoleg population. Oak woodlands and rolling fields surrounding a quiet, vast lake. There are several key landmarks that are contested grounds:
- The Shimmerpool - a shallow pebble pond, offshot from the lake via a calm rippling stream. Small aquatic life can be found here, like minnows frogs and water voles. It is also a popular relaxation spot for cats who wish to cool off during blistering Greenleaf heatwaves. At night the pool comes alive in a majestic glow as it reflects the lights of Silverpelt.
- Preyrocks - a collection of large stones in an irregular pile, creating tight nooks and crannies that creatures live in. A great spot for finding prey, but also potentially hazardous due to the dangerous snakes that can live amongst the rocks.
- Eldertree - an old, massive dead tree, burnt from a fire long since past. Mentors take their apprentices here to assess their climbing skills during evaluation, reaching the top of the tree serving as a rite of passage.
- Sharpthorn Grove - a clearing wildly overgrown with brambles and thorn bushes. There are small tufts of cat fur throughout the grove left behind by generations of trainees. Older kits who are eligible for apprenticeship are brought here for their first assessments.
- Dusty Hollow - a large sandy clearing near the woods where no vegetation seems to grow. It is the perfect place for mentors to take their apprentices training, with the spaciousness of the area providing plenty of room to conduct battle training.
Prey:
- Forest - Squirrels, mice, small birds, shrews, snakes
- Moor - Mice, rabbits, voles, small birds, snakes
Predators:
- Forest - Raccoons, possums, foxes, birds of prey, snakes
- Moor - Foxes, coyotes, birds of prey, snakes
Camps:
ThistleClan - a hollow heavily-concealed by trees and brush. a giant gnarled willow tree curls across the top of camp, shielding the cats from airborne predators and draping the camp entrance with thick willow vines.
- Leader's den - a small dugout among the roots of the willow tree. as the tree is sat overlooking the hollow, the leader is able to observe their camp from the comforts of their den.
- Highbranch - a sweeping low branch of the willow tree to serve as a stage for meetings and clan announcements.
- Warriors' den - tall ferns growing beside the small incline where the leader's den is located.
- Apprentices' den - an old mossy tree trunk hollowed out from the inside, laying adjacent to the warriors' den.
- Healer's den - a cluster of thick bracken sat close to the camp entrance.
- Nursery - a large myrtle bush with purple flowers sat adjacent to the healer's den, bordered by rough mossy stones and protective brambles.
- Fresh-kill pile - a pile of prey nested on a bed of moss, covered by fronds. it sits at the foot of the incline just before the Highbranch.
BrambleClan - a dense gathering of tall grass and dry brush. Their camp is seated inside of a small valley at the foot of a hill, giving them some protection from the grassland breeze and land predators.
- Leader's den - a dugout alcove in the side of the hill, shrouded by a thick gorse bush.
- Blackstones - a stack of large, flat, spongy black "stones" overgrown with lichen and used for clan meetings and announcements.
- Warriors' den - a tight clump of yarrow bushes and dry thistles, growing adjacent to the leader's den.
- Apprentices' den - a collection of cloudberry bushes and tall growing reeds beside the warriors' den. The inside is slightly dug down into the earth, without disturbing the roots.
- Healer's den - a collection of stones that have formed a cave, curved at the entrance. Herbs are stored within the cracks of the stones.
- Nursery - a long, decrepit twoleg object that is old and rusted. Warriors have reinforced the structure with brambles over time.
- Fresh-kill pile - a discreet hole dug out just near the Blackstones. Dead brush and thistles are laid over the top of it to preserve the kill inside and hide it from predators.

Apprentice Trials:
- Trial of the Mouse - Kits who reach the age of 6 moons are taken to Sharpthorn Grove. They are then tasked with tracking, hunting, and successfully catching a piece of prey, amongst the thorny thicket, whilst sustaining as little injury as possible. They have until sun down to complete this task. Successful completion of this trial will grant the kit the rank of Mouse and deem them eligible for participation in the Trial of the Squirrel. Should they fail, they reside in the nursery for another week before being able to try again.
- Trial of the Squirrel - Kits who have achieved the rank of Mouse in their assessments are led out into their clan's territory. There, they are then tasked to partake in a scavenger hunt for buried fresh-kill that the warriors hid beforehand. They must use all their natural senses and verbal directions from the warriors to locate the hidden prey, then bring it back to them before sunfall. This trial is meant to assess the kit's navigational skills. Successful completion of this trial will grant the kit the rank of Squirrel and deem them eligible for participation in the Trial of the Snake. Should they fail, they reside in the nursery for another week at rank Mouse before being able to try again.
- Trial of the Snake - Kits who have achieved the rank of Squirrel in their assessments are taken to Dusty Hollow in even-numbered groups. Here they are then paired with one of their peers and must engage in a sparring session with them. The overseeing warriors will assess each kit's combat potential and then make a pass/fail judgement call depending on their observations. Successful completion of this trial will complete the kit's assessments and finally deem them eligible for apprenticeship. Should they fail, they reside in the nursery for another week at rank Squirrel before being able to try again.
Warrior Trials:
- Trial of the Eagle - Apprentices who reach the age of 12 moons are taken to the Eldertree. They are then tasked with scaling the enormous tree and procuring a winged prey. Apprentices need to be extra careful during this trial, as a slip from a high elevation can cause serious injury. Successful completion of this trial will grant the apprentice the rank of Eagle and deem them eligible for participation in the Trial of the Hare. Should they fail, they must wait another week before being able to try again.
- Trial of the Hare - Apprentices who have achieved the rank of Eagle in their assessments are led out to the farthest edge of their clan's territory at the peak of dawn. They are then tasked with finding their way back to camp within half an hour. Successful completion of this trial will grant the apprentice the rank of Hare and deem them eligible for participation in the Trial of the Fox. Should they fail, they must wait another week at rank Eagle before being able to try again.
- Trial of the Fox - Apprentices who have achieved the rank of Hare in their assessments are taken to Dusty Hollow. There they are then pitted in a sparring match against their respective mentors. They must perform a pin on their mentor for the match to be considered a win. Successfully completing this trail will deem the apprentice eligible for graduation. Should they fail, they reside in the apprentice's den for another week at rank Hare before being able to try again.
Holiday:
- New Sun - The first day of Newleaf. The clans will gather at the Shimmerpool to socialize together and celebrate the end of Leafbare. During this time, it is also a time of remembrance for those lost over the year. It is a time of peace much like regular gatherings, and conflict is strictly forbidden.
History:
Long ago, a large group of rogues had settled in the moors and the forest. There was nothing but chaos as the cats competed for food and shelter, death was such a common occurrence that it no longer phased the cats. They were out for their own survival or the survival of their families. Leafbares were especially hard on the group as a result. Till one day, two traveling brothers, Thistle and Bramble, came across the community. Unable to stand the sight of the fighting, began to work with the cats, trying to convince them they would be stronger working together then against one another.
Slowly over time the community began to listen to the brothers, but there still wasn't enough going around. So the brothers proposed a suggestion. The community would split into two different groups. One group would take to the forest as their home, and the other would take to the moors. The cats agreed to the terms the brothers were bringing forward. Those that preferred the offerings of the forest went with Bramble to live, while those that preferred the moors went with Thistle.
Over time the groups became more established, with the brothers leading their respective groups, till they eventually evolved into clans, named respectfully after each of the brothers. The clans now were able to flourish with out the constant competitions, and families were able to grow up safely. While there have still been fights over territory, the clans have been managing to remain at peace.
