Silverstream is known for seeing Graystripe. She's shown in very few scenes, and her character shines mostly in The Prophecies Begin. Fans complained about Silverstream breaking the warrior code, and called her a "brat" because she wants the warrior code to change for her own benefits. Here's the scenes of Silverstream with Graystripe. What do you think? Did she act like a "brat"? Silverstream stared at him, her tail twitching. "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you," he whispered, painfully aware he was in enemy territory.
Silverstream flicked her ears in alarm. "Is Graystripe okay? Has his cough gotten worse?"
Fireheart was irritated by her concern. He didn't want to know how much this she-cat cared for his best friend. "He's fine!" he growled, his caution swept away by anger. "But he won't be if he carries on meeting you!"
Silverstream bristled. "I won't let anything bad happen to Graystripe!"
"Oh, really?" Fireheart snorted. "And what could you do to protect him?"
"I am a Clan leader's daughter," meowed Silverstream.
"Does that give you thr power to control your father's warriors? You're hardly more than an apprentice!"
"Like you!" she hissed indignantly.
"Yes, that's true," Fireheart admitted. "And that's why I'm not sure I could protect Graystripe from the anger from his own clan - or yours - if they find out you're seeing each other."
Silverstream tried to glare at him, but her eyes were clouded with emotion. "I can't stop seeing him," she meowed. Her voice softened to a whisper. "I love him." "Whatever problems your clan has, you still have to stop seeing Graystripe."
"No," Silverstream answered. Her eyes flashed. "How can our love do any harm?" So, what do you think about these scenes? Also, in Crookedstar's Promise, she told Crookedstar that the warrior code should change for her own benefits. Imo, I'm personally bothered by her in this scene. Silverstream acts like she can solve her problems with Graystripe if they're caught just because she's a Clan leader's daughter, and thinks she can get away with it. I don't like it. She acted kind of like a brat to me.

While I was reading it I personally never thought of it this way, could perfectly understand why someone would think this

It can definitely be perceived as bratty, but I don't think it's what it was intended to be. I see it more as naive than anything. She seems to think that everything will work out simply because A: She and Graystripe love one another and B: Because her father is clan leader. I also read it as her grasping at straws in an argument to prove that nothing bad will happen.

She was definitely a spoiled brat, but that's something I love about her. Though it could also be a matter of naivety, since she was young and in love.

Nah I think she was just a dumb kid who was pretty naive. Like her talking points are pretty standard fair for forbidden romance tropes, I think, and they're usually invoked to portray naivety

Idk if “bratty” is the word I’d use, but she was definitely very naive and frustratingly ignorant. Her “love solves all <3” approach was very childish and annoying tbh.

She was a huge brat. She stubbornly refused to listen to what others said to her out of concern. She tried to excuse her relationship by saying that she could do anything she wanted because she's the leader's daughter. Like no. The rules still apply to you, Silverstream. It made me dislike her a lot.

She was incredibly annoying, and I'm glad she became better as a StarClan guide.

No, she was stupid and kiddish, but not particularly bratty or bitchy about it. "I can keep my bf safe with my personal influence" is pretty naive but not "bratty".

A common definition of a spoiled brat is a person who exhibits a "lack of consideration for other people, recurrent temper tantrums, an inability to handle the delay of gratification, demands for having one's own way, obstructiveness, and manipulation to get their way."
I don't see Silverstream as exhibiting all or most of these behaviors. Perhaps "lack of consideration for other people," and "demands for having one's own way," but she never put anyone down or threw any tantrums. When I think of a spoiled brat, I think of someone who thinks they are better than someone else and treats others poorly because of it.
Rather, I think Silverstream demonstrated an attitude of entitlement. She knew that she would receive special treatment because she is the Clan leader's daughter--that's just a statement of fact--but she never pretended that it was because she was inherently superior to anyone else. I think she would have argued in favor of anyone being forgiven for a forbidden romance, not just herself.

Imo brat isn't the right word.
Naive fits her better here. Considering Crookedstar did spoil her, there's also the context of her character from Leopardstar's SE, I can understand why she turned out the way she did.
But at the same time, I want to applaud her. At least she wasn't fickle about her relationship with Graystripe, that she was in the "ride or die" boat when it came to their forbidden romance. And not the "Nvm actually I want to string someone else along first for a while, actually wait nvm let's get back together, actually wait nvm my clan needs me, actually wait nvm--"
I'm sorry but that stuff gets old fast.
And if we're actually being honest here, she wasn't wrong either, Graystripe would have just genuinely moved to RiverClan, or vice versa with Silverstream moving to ThunderClan. Both of those clans were willing to fight over those kits, so it's not like they were unwanted, the idea of that only became a thing because of Tigerstar's rhetoric later on. So ultimately they would have probably turned out fine in the end, it's just unfortunate circumstances that Silverstream had kitting issues.
