This book needed to be edited more.
I liked it, though. Frostpaw was my favorite pov, partially because she's RiverClan, but I also just liked how anxious, yet empathetic she was. She did not have many interactions with her siblings, but in the end, when she goes into the medicine cat den to be by herself, I loved how her siblings came, to comfort one another because they're all orphans now and only have each other.
I hope we see Spireclaw and Fringewhisker in the background of upcoming books. Sunbeam was my least favorite pov, not because she's bad or anything, just that there wasn't much going on for her personally.
I liked Flamepaw, or well, Nightheart. I know some people were worried about him and Sunbeam becoming the next Rootspring and Bristlefrost, but unlike Lost Stars, there was no romantic subtext (can it be called subtext? It was pretty obvious in the text that Root had a thing for Bristle in the first book). They had a friendly interaction talking about the troubles they faced in their personal lives.
I hope Nightheart makes friends. I liked Finchlight because even though he was rude to her like twice, she was understanding.
Also, possible ShadowClan civil war? We had one like two arcs ago, but it looks like we might have one again with Berryheart being ominous as heck.
(EDITED: I've seen I'm not the first to post this theory) My theory on the RiverClan leader: Frostpaw has a connection with StarClan which means she should be a medicine cat, right? What if that was possibly misinterpreted? She sees a dock leaf in the shape of a star in her nest and takes it to mean that she's supposed to be the leader, but brushes it aside because of obvious reasons. Curlfeather tells her to trust her instincts, and while they're on the way to the moonpool, Curlfeather dies, potentially meaning she wasn't supposed to become the leader. It's a bit far-fetched, though, as Frostpaw IS an apprentice, and why send a sign that she's supposed to lead when she's so young?
My guess is that it's called A Starless Clan because RiverClan will be without a 'star for a hot minute.

As Frostpaw was struggling to make sense of all of it, she felt something warm and soft slip into the nest beside her. When she opened her eyes, she nearly gasped--Mistpaw and Graypaw had snuck into the medicine cat den and were snuggling in on each side.
"Shhh," Mistpaw whispered. "No cat knows we're here. But we needed to be near you now."
Frostpaw licked her sister's ear gratefully.
"It's hard to believe," Graypaw mewed. "But. . . . we're all we have now."
-River, pg 249
