I'm reading TBC, and I enjoy her chapters, but I found Bristlefrost's tattling about the warrior code annoying. Did anyone else feel annoyed about it when she kept telling Bramblestar about who's breaking the code?

I thought it was more interesting than annoying tbh. I mostly wanted to see how far Bristlefrost would go in supporting/helping Imposterstar. I actually enjoyed this part of her POV because of how suspenseful it was lol

I mean, it's part of Bristlefrost's character arc to help "Bramblestar" while being unaware of his true self and intentions only to then realize how wrong it was later on. This storyline of the hero unknowingly helping the villain has been done before and usually ends with the former character realizing the latter has bad intentions soon enough.

It was interesting for me because I wondered if she would end up unknowingly becoming the villain. Thankfully she didn't.

i wish they had played into that factor way more than they did, felt like it ended too soon and would've loved to see her devolve into a blackstar level lackey.

Like others have said, I thought it was more interesting than annoying. And I like how, after Bristlefrost realized she was on the wrong side, she reversed the role efficiently from becoming a tattler to a spy.

I liked that part of her character arc. I do hope we don't get another spy POV in the upcoming arc though, I feel like it's been played out with 3 female POV characters in a row being featured in a spying role (Ivypool, Violetshine, and Bristlefrost). If they want to have a protag side with the villain, I want them to go all out and have them fully align themselves

To me, it never really seemed like tattling (then again, I could be remembering things wrong). But from what I remember, any time she "tattled" was when "Bramblestar" would directly ask her if anything had happened. Was she supposed to just lie to her leader's face? I kinda liked her being what Hollyleaf easily could've been had this obsession with the warrior code happened in PO3 lol. Like, Bristlefrost just wanted to be a good warrior, and she truly believed that by telling Bramblestar about her Clanmates' infractions, that she could do that. She wasn't intentionally trying to get her Clanmates in trouble, and she was always shocked at the harsh punishments they received. She really did mean well, but like they say, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". She did bad things with good intentions, and I thought that made for a really interesting character flaw.
