I liked that Snowtuft got a larger role and finally a proper backstory in TBC and would have loved to see him redeem himself enough to join StarClan. But what happened to him in the final book of that arc, paired with how StarClan acted when other DF cats wanted to secure a place for themselves with them by fighting on their side, showed that it was unlikely for this to have taken place even if he had made it that far.

He should have died on-screen. Hope we get a novella or something detailing it

He deserved StarClan. Didn't deserve to die like that

I liked him a lot! I wanted to see him survive and actually make the change to StarClan, and even further his relationships with Shadowsight, Rootspring, and the other Dark Forest spirits. It's a shame he had to die off-page like he did.

I liked him. Would like more of a backstory on him, Maggotail, and Silverhawk

He was a cool character. I wish he hadn't died, or I at least wish that his death had been on-screen. I'd like more content on him.

Forever mad over his death. They hype him up that much, talk about morality and allowing DF into StarClan in articles and whatnot... then kill him off offscreen and randomly give all his development to Silverhawk. Left a bad taste in my mouth

Neutral. He may have died nobely, but we don't know the details of WHY he was in the DF to begin with. We got a little backstory, but that's it. Until we get more details, I'll stay neutral.

Conflicted. I was neutral initially upon hearing about him being brought back, and rather skeptical about what possible role he’d play in the long run, and whether he’d have much relevance or just being included as fan service. Which I suppose he was sorta of 50/50, with him being presented as the polar opposite of Ashfur of what becomes of Starclan’s intrinsically fallacious judgement and choices. And is given a redemption arc of sorts and is shown having some remorse for whatever criminal acts he committed, and then sacrifices himself selflessly, and metaphorically paves a path for the other morally ambiguous residents of the Dark Forest that assist in the fight with Ashfur. Which personally I’m dubious on the prospect of cats of The Dark Forest being redeemed, being that the DF is meant to be reserved for Dark-hearted, malicious cats that purposefully embarked on the dark path that warranted them entry to begin with, also it’s supposed to corrupt the minds/hearts of those there, and instill Dark and malicious thoughts. So makes the feasibility of them repenting or turning around in such a place rather precarious to me. But given that’s the route they decided to take with TBC, at least seemed to be, with all the questions revolving around morality and the trustworthiness of Starclan, I’m rather disappointed that gave such a anticlimactic ending with no resolution or meaningful impact for his efforts and sacrifice. Makes his entire arc and all buildup around it feel pretty pointless.
I mean they expose Starclan as susceptible to making glaring hiccups, have them admit to said mistakes, and then act rather supercilious while declaring that said decisions are finalized, whether wrong or not. Pretty messed up, especially if it’s within their power to change them, and grant Second chances for redemption. So while I’m neutral with the direction they took with him, I’m far more unimpressed with what note it ended on.

Like. I hate how he died, though...so anti-climactic.

I love Snowtuft and I love how they created a middle ground with Ashfur's tunnel for cats who won't evil but won't necessary good either. Hopefully cats sent to this middle ground will eventually become full time StarClan members as they rightly deserve (definitely in Juniperclaw's case he should of been sent to StarClan in the first place, especially if Princess Needletail got sent to StarClan, and if their ever was a morally ambiguous cat who deserves to be sent to the Dark Forest for a time it is Princess Needletail, who only turned against Darktail, because her boyfriend was killed and had he not died would have stayed on Darktail's side). Sorry about the rant but the blatant hypocrisy of StarClan pisses me off. Anyway it's a shame Snowtuft didn't have an opportunity to become a Border Guardian with Juniperclaw and hopefully Silverhawk, Sparrowfeather and Maggottail as well and if Mapleshade hasn't killed her again Frecklewish. Since I believe faded double dead cats are reincarnated I hope Snowtuft as well as Redwillow have a much better new life. They definitely deserve it.

I was really sad when they killed him off, a Dark Forest cat returning themselves to Starclan would've been so sweet to see! oh well, maybe next time
