SPOILER WARNING Yep, you heard me, what did you feel after Bristlefrost ceased to exist for good?

Honestly the first time I shed a tear in one of these books since Gray Wing's death. It was honestly really unexpected for me, I thought that Shadowsight would be the one to bite the bullet and RootxBristle would be the first ones to make a change to the code together.
I really loved the way it was written, and I think it was one of the loveliest send offs a character has had. I find it so powerful that despite literally drowning in a physical manifestation of despair, her thoughts were just of her love for her family, her Clan, and for Rootspring.
Maybe unpopular opinion but Bristlefrost had always been my favourite out of the TBC PoVs as I found her to just be so earnest and endearing, even when her chapters were admittedly the most uneventful. I'm glad she had a tight-knit arc rather than be benched as a semi-background character forevermore like Lionblaze and Jayfeather have.

Devastated, but it was such a good ending. Pain in books is always good.

It hurt, especially the end with Rootspring!

Devastated and shocked. seeing the history of how things went in the older books, I assumed that neither shadowsight nor bristlefrost would die and that some other character of little importance would die instead or something like that. but no I feel like the writers knew that if the last book of TBC ended similar to the last books of other parts of the warriors series then it would very noticeably become stale. or maybe I'm just overcomplicating all of this for no reason.

I was completely shocked. The Erins rarely kill off main characters and I was really surprised to find out she died. I'm sad she did, poor Rootspring and her family must be so upset.

I was happy. Not necessarily because I disliked her, but because she returned to the character she was pre-Rootspring. One who cared about her clan most and wanted to make a difference.
I think her death was well done, and I don't think the other two protagonists would have been the right ones to die. Especially Shadowsight, who I hope we get to see deal with his survivor's guilt

I am okay with her dying I’ve came to terms with it. However the description of the life that she could have had with Rootspring made me an emotional mess.

It was really sad, but I feel that was a good way to end her arc. What better way to show her nobility, courage, and love than for her to throw away her entire existence?
...Poor Bristlefrost. She was one of my favorite characters.

I hated it, and feel like it was a terrible idea. I hate it so much that it made me quit the series.

I thought it was the most meaningful death we've had in a while. Warriors likes to go on about how hard life is in the clans but rarely do we see non-background cats die or get badly injured/ill. The final few chapters of Rootspring helped a lot with it as well - very rarely do we see characters notably grieve for a while after a loss. I get that Starclan brings them a lot of comfort normally and her death means she is really gone to them which is unexpected in many ways but it was really interesting to read.

I had accidentally spoiled myself when the book first came out because I couldn't resist not taking a peek at the forums, so I went into the book knowing she was gonna die, but I always thought that she'd be in StarClan, and there'd be some scene with Rootspring. Imagine my absolute surprise when it turns out, nope, she's dead dead.

I was super sad. Despite me greatly disliking RootBristle, I really felt sad for Rootspring. (Here's to hoping he one day moves on and finds a mate within his own Clan)
I liked Bristlefrost as an individual character and felt she could have had a more interesting arch if they hadn't dumbed her down to a lovesick forbidden romance plot device. The way she went out was beautifully heart breaking and showed she truly had some real leadership quality in her.

I understand; it just comes off as a little... hm... rude? to me to have such a joyous reaction over a scene whose whole intention was to be super emotional and all. I'm sorry if I come off as aggressive; I felt genuine grief when she died, and her death felt like the death of a real loved one to me (and I'm still grieving to this day; it's paining me to even be talking about this subject) so I'm extremely sensitive about this subject.

Since I stopped reading warriors I was shocked that they would choose a main character to be gone. I thought that they would maybe choose Bramblestar or Squrrielflight since this arc is about getting rid of Ashfur and the Erins did say that a huge sacrifice was going to happen or something like that.
